will they be like the Atlanta Braves in 1992?????

Remember in the 1991 World Series when the Minnesota Twins beat the Atlanta Braves and the following season it seemed like it was the Braves won the Fall Classic because they were getting more pub and were the media darlings in 1992, only to go on and lose the 1992 World Series to a Canadian Team.

It makes me wonder that if Cowboys go on to Super Bowl XLII and lose to maybe Indy or New England will the get more hype and pub then the Super Bowl Winner winner like the Bravos after there World Series Loss? :whoknows:

Well, if they got into the Super Bowl and lost they would be the subject of the Super Bowl losers curse. Think of the most recent Super Bowl losing teams and how they fared the next year:

2001 New York Giants, 7-9, missed the playoffs
2002 St. Louis Rams, started 0-5, ended up missing the playoffs at 7-9
2003 Oakland Raiders, 4-12, missed the playoffs
2004 Carolina Panthers, 7-9, missed the playoffs
2005 Philadelphia Eagles, 6-10, missed the playoffs
2006 Seattle Seahawks, 9-7, missed the playoffs
2007 Chicago Bears, currently 3-4

It would almost be worth seeing Dallas in the Super Bowl if I knew that they would lose and then miss the playoffs completely the next year.

I'd take it.

If i was told by a crystal ball that I had a choice that : Dallas would lose in the first round of the playoffs the next two years, or that they would make it to the SB this year and lose then the next year went 7-9 and miss the playoffs........i'd jump on that second option....

The Seahawks won the NFC West, made the playoffs in 2006 and won a Wild Card Game.

This pic ought to refresh you memory. :D

I think the Patriots are gonna win this thing, thought it's not set in stone by any means. I think right now the Pats are getting tons of pub like they have been for the past 5 years or so...

You know Dallas has to be doing atleast something right when skins fans who frequent ATN are putting Dallas in the SB this early. I can't even do that. Too much football left.

All I know is that if it's the Patriots and the Cowboys, I will be having a BIG Superbowl party at our house. That will be the most fun of any non-Redskins game this year.

In fact, I'll invite all my Cowboys fan friends. All the finest food and drink they can consume just so I can enjoy their reaction. :D

Yeah, it's no guarantee they could beat GB in Lambeau, or any other borderline-decent team. They really haven't done it yet. :D

Reply number 18. I think they'd have to go back to back and lose to be compared to the Braves. They went something like 4 or 5 times and only won it once. I don't want Dallass to go at all, anytime, anywhere.

Mike Wilbon said it best yesterday on PTI. He said Dallass has been flapping their gums and talking a bunch of crap and they need to shut up and win something first. He said that is what makes them annoying to the fans of the other 31 teams, when they start thumping their chests for no reason at all.

I think they need to prove that they can actually win a playoff game first. Something they haven't done in over a decade.

Definitely agree with the people thinking along those lines.

Dude...

The boys will not go to the SB.

They don't have the pass defense to make it there this year.

Besides, Romo is going to flunk here; and T.O. is gonna have a meltdown.

Just aint gonna happen.

Just wait till week 11-12-13..... Nov/Dec is key.

Until the recent surge by the Giants, I couldn't find a probable loss on the Cowboys' remaining schedule. I'm hopeful as always that my Redskins will sweep them, but this is highly unlikely and with our ailing o-line we may not even take one of two. They even get Green Bay in Texas Stadium. The ducks are lining up. I see Dallas going 12-4 at worst due to NFC mediocrity. The post season is a long way off, but the current "aura" around the Boys is bright.

Romo face one quality defense and lost.

You should have more faith in your #1 ranked defense... :(
