He is very knowledgeable of our team...He spoke on Taylor, Landry, McIntosh, Fletch, saying these guys are very physical and they fly to the ball, as well the defense as a whole.

He said the DLine is playing well.

Spoke on some of the battles with Gibbs in the 80s...He was asked if he would break out some old film on the Skins with Gibbs Era I & he said that, NE played the Skins in pre-season last year, as well have taking notice to how the NFC East plays each other.

Said Campbell is a good player, Randel-El is a threat, and the offense has potential to be potent @ any time...He didn't put down the offensive system @ all.

They are discussing the Red Sox now so I guess that is all on the game but it was good to hear things from his perspective.

Edit: The Corners can play man or zone and be effective.

The linebackers are very fast & physical, so much that they can be compared to a safety's style of play

He also spoke of our Oline with injuries, including Rabach and knew that he was coming back this week for us. Very knowledgeable. Scary knowledgeable.

Yea the man doesn't sleep , he is a winner and well prepared , and how much he studies the game and studies other teams is very apparent after these types of comments , I wish we didn't have NE this week =(

yeah the guy is a great coach, but I just don't trust him nor do I think he is a good person. Not only this cheating thing, but look at how he treats mangini...also did you see him just push that camera man out of the way when he went to shake mangini's hand? Sucha duech bag. He may not still be cheating, but I think he has been cheating for years and that is why he knows so much....

We're 16.5 point underdogs under the early line. I think that is a little steep. I can't see us losing by 17 points.

Judging by some people's post around here, you are probably correct.

Oh, I forgot to mention that Belichick noted that we could easily be 6-0, and spoke in detail of how we had a bad half against the Giants and a simple returned fumble to lose to the Packers. It's only Monday and it's like this guy has studied our team all season.

Damn! He knows how tough Gibbs teams play. He was under Parcells for all of those years in New York. He knows whats coming.

Credit where credit is due. The guy may be an SOB, but he's obviously one of the sharpest guys in the football business. He would do extremely well in other businesses, too, with the way he studies and leaves no detail uncovered.

Hell, all he did was read this site before the interview...oh wait, if he did that he would realize that N.E. doesn't even need to show up after reading from our great fan base! :2cents:

I really don't know what you guys are impressed about here. This is all incredibly basic stuff, and I'm sure he knows 10 times more than this about the Redskins (and for the record, with an NFL caliber knowledge of the game and how to break down real game tape--not broadcast footage-- he knows about 100 times more than all of our fans). Peyton Manning watches and can remember defensive plays from last year after studying tape...you don't think Belicheck is just as thorough and devoted?

he probably still has tapes of Gregg Williams' signal calls from buffalo. While we're watching MNF, Brady will be watching those tapes.

This is not the appropriate week for this, but next week or the week after I would be interested in seeing a poll on whether we would want to have Bellicheck as our head coach.

Assuming we live in some fantasy world where the world's biggest stupid bomb accidentally goes off in Boston and the ownership there doesn't renew his contract for life.

It’s the first half. It’s the first half. Look, we’ve all seen games… the Tampa-Indianapolis game a couple of years ago, 21 points in four minutes or whatever it [was]. Don’t tell me about leads in this league. Until the final gun goes off, it’s not a win.

That's my favorite Bill B. quote from the press conference--that sums up his entire philosophy and our coaching staff should take note.

After watching Gibbs' press conference, I must say I'm a bit disappointed in his responses to questions about the Patriots game. While Belichick can recite the full names of every player and coach on our team, I got the impression that Gibbs doesn't know anyone other than Tom Brady. When asked about Tom Brady, Gibbs gave some generic "he's a competitor" talk and made no mention of specifics like his incredible completion percentage, for example.

I admire his anal retentiveness...Whether he read it before the interview or was briefed by someone, the fact that he regurgitated the information with such ease and details is the difference between a Coach and a great Coach.

... to our credit, I do recall Greg Williams speaking in great details about the Lions and their coaching before the game [maybe he had a lot of time because of the off week we had, who knows]...needless to say, we had an outstanding performance during that game. So at least we have a Coach on our team with similar focus, hope it pays off.

Good. He respects the Redskins. I remember when he coached against us during the first Gibbs era when we was the defensive coordinator of the NY Giants. Bellichek's been around football for a long time. I'm sure he'll have his team focused and ready to play a very good Redskins team.

So much for all you people hoping they'd be taking us lightly on their way to playing the Colts.

October-23rd-2007, 07:25 AM
He's knowledgeable because he can say things that anyone can read in the paper?

I'm sure he does know our team, he's prepping to play us, but the things he said aren't much more than you can read in any postgame analysis on NFL.com.

This game is big for them because our defense is going to be considered a test for them. They feel as though they have something to prove, and proving it against our D will be something they can stand on.

It'll be tough.

He wouldn't be a coach in the NFL if he didn't.
