just torrented the game

upon watching mike puccillo,I noticed that arizona often lined up a DT on top of him through out the game.

he was o.k. in pass protection, that doesnt make him a shining star cause his name didnt get called, but he got a C- on his pass protection.

but the run game is were the DT or NT lined up on top of him came into play. The ball would get snapped and puccillo would be normally get driven into the backfield. On a few plays this caused clinton to get tackled for a loss or no gain.

and just in general he rarely ever had any positive movement on his man.

technique is there but sadly he's probably the weakest O-lineman on the team he got man handled by planet sized gabe watson and crew.

here's the biggest cause for concern,in the patriots they have a nose-tackle who's top3 in his postion in Vince Wilfork, I'd call him #2,with Jamall Williams in SD being #1,Casey hampton #3.

I think it's very possible to run the ball on the patriots(see cowboys),the cowboys have a strong center in andre gurode. if we don't get Rabach back, our O-line won't even have a chance in the ground game.

Sure the line's banged up, but it was only one starter diff. from the GB game
Is Casey Rabach that good? or is Mike Puchillo that bad?

both

Despite what Gibbs said about playing conservative b/c of the Dfense, I feel like he played conservative b/c of one guy...Puchillo.

Rabach is a very good Center but I'm leaning toward that idea that Puchillo is just that bad.

Here's hoping #61 is in the lineup this sunday :point2sky

I always thought Rabach's name got lost among the big ones like Jansen, Thomas, and Samuels. However, I always liked Rabach.

It's funny, after one game of two costly penalties from him, many jumped on his case. I hope now that he was out, people can appreciate him more. Good thread/subject to bring up.

Wasn't advertised, but Wade was very banged up in the last game.

The center is the qb of the line and really makes it all work(or not work). Dockett was having his way with Pucillo the whole game. On top of that, Wade and Kendall were coming back from injuries and did not practice all week. Fabini practiced at RT all week, which means Pucillo did not line up with the 2 guards next to him at all until the game. I don't think it's just that Pucillo is bad, but that he hadn't practiced with the guards on either side of him at all.

On Riggo's radio show the Diesel also complained about Pucillo's inability to get under Watson and Dockett's pads and get any inside push and instead sometimes getting pushed back.

Pucillo proved why he's a backup. Wilfolk might have his way with him on Sunday if Rabach's not ready.

yes.

puch was getting killed on run plays. he looked lost at times.

as well as fabini and wade had sub par games.
also mike sellars had a very bad day blocking. but all that was ok casue him and yoder made our 2 td runs work.

first yoder blocked 3 guys while sellars sealed the edge on the first td un.

on the second mike jumped over the line knocking 2 cards players back and portis jumped right behind sellars and over him. best goal line play we ran in a long time. and when sellars came up to shake portis's hand on the sideline afterwards portis jumped up and bear hugged the big guy.

a couple postive plays that i like in the whole ugly game on offense.

I think the real reason Rabach sat against the Cards was so he could be healthy for the Pats. My guess is the coaching staff felt pretty confident we could win this last game (even though it ended up being damn close.) Many of you said Pucillo proved why he's a backup, and I agree 100%. He's certainly a better backup at guard than he is at center.

Miami got some pretty good yardage on the Pats too, and their line isn't very impressive at all. Granted a lot of it was in the second half, but yards are yards. We have no choice but to try and commit to the run and try to keep that Pats offense off the field. Nobody is giving us a chance in this game...and I like it that way.

You have no idea how happy I get when I hear the commentators say that.

I would like to see DeMulling at Right Guard due to his familiarity in the zone blocking scheme. I just don't think Fabini is getting it done. He's over the hill and has lost a step.

I haven't watched the game again, but I do seem to recall Fabini getting beat quite a bit. Is Pucillo really that bad that a backup tackle in Fabini fills in better than him at right guard? Fabini worries me, he's never played guard until this year as far as I know. Is it me or does he seem to struggle with the quicker reaction time a guard needs, and is better suited for tackle where he uses footwork more than quick hands?

Wait a minute. We don't need to get rid of CP? :)

And yet Pucillo recieved an award this week from the team. I agree with complimenting the effort and everything, but we seem to give awards simply for being able to go in on every play.

We really need Casey Rabach, Jansen, and Thomas back.

Even with Rabach, we still can't run right, and Belicheck will make us pay for that.

Rabach is really the guy that makes this line work. The difference in the running game and line as a whole is night and day with him in there. Whether it be Puchillo, Friedman, Moore, or Raymer at center, the line just doesn't play anywhere near the same level.
