Sean Taylor's coverage ability would still be being wasted.

This is out there man. I didn't see this one coming. Why would the skins draft a RB having two starters?

its better that we didnt sign him. Dont the vikings have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL? That has a lot to do with the holes A. Pete is finding. If peterson was playing behind our line, I dont think he would be doing much better than CP.

LL was a great pick up. The main reason our defense turned around is because of him and London.

We would've have a logjam at RB and still have a hole at S. ST probably wouldn't have been playing the prototypical FS position he is playing and our defense would've suffer greatly because of it. I also dont know how succesful he would've been splitting carries with 2 other RBs and our depleted O-line.

with our luck, he probably would have been injured by now and CP would be well on his way to 1700 wherever he landed

Wasn't going to happen with Betts and Portis under contract. I am very shocked that Green Bay didn't make a trade with us to get him though. They likely would be very much more so Super Bowl bound and could pose a legit challenge to the Pats and Colts if they did:2cents:

He would be sitting on the bench behind Portis, Betts, & Sellers...

& we would have been complaining like hell that we drafted a position of current strength!

I was thinking the same thing. Draft Peterson at #6, deal CP to Detroit for Dre Bly and a draft pick, sign Clements and Fletcher and release B. Lloyd. I don't know how that would pan out with the cap, and hindsight is better than 20/20, and if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump it's ***** when it jumped. These are moot points.

guys guys guys, here is a really interesting scenario: what if instead of what really happened, we just drafted all the best players from every draft, and traded away all our players that played badly in the future??? i think we would score more points!

Not taking anything away from AP (because he IS good), but the Vikes took a concerted effort to beef up their OLine a couple of years ago and I'm sure that has helped AP tremendously.

probably because clinton portis is our premire back (like it or not) and if we drafted peterson then the bailey-portis trade would be sealed in history as a huge bust...

Who cares, Why the all the hating on Clinton Portis.... He is 2nd in the NFC in rushing yards now behind Peterson, and 7th in the NFL. I think all the hating should stop. The finally give him a chance to consistently run the ball, and look what happens.

We would have lost to the Eagles without landrys big hit at the end.

All thoughts do not necessarily need to be threads. :2cents:

he probably would have blown his knee out trying to run right in the second game of the year.

we would have a hole at safety.

At some point Landry would have ended Campbell's career.

2 years ago Shaun Alexander was considered the best RB in the NFL, setting a record for TDs while leading the league in rushing for what would've been 2 years in a row if he hadn't been pulled from the last game the year before when he was 1 yard shy. Then, the Vikes signed away the star of the Seattle line Steve Hutchinson for a record contract (at the time) for a guard. Suddnely Shaun Alexander stinks and noone knows why....while the Vke's RB is leading the league in rushing....
If only we'd drafted Hutchinson instead of Rod Gardner (yes Bulldog, I know you were screaming for that at the time).
