It's truly amazing how some people can be so stupid. I really hope somebody dropped that guy quickly. You would think he'd have at least one sensible friend to let him know what kind of decision that was to dress like that.

:secret: Anna Nicole was just fat.

This is a dumb costume but I'm not surprised at all. Last year people dressed as Steve Irwin with a barb in the chest and I'm sure people had stupid 09/11 costumes, people think dressing up offensively to mock the latest tragedy every Halloween is cool.

Agreed. I dressed up as Dale Earnhart, accident victim for Halloween 2001. But this is far over the line even for me.

And you are lucky you survived that night. Many would consider that one of the 12 deadly sins.

I really hope this picture is heavily distributed and the guy fears for his life. That picture can be interpreted as either the killer or a victim. Either way it's wrong and I have a sick sense of humor.

Come on just because a person is an idiot means you can beat him up.

I mean just because people hung a noose on a "white only" tree doesn't mean you can gang up on him 6 v 1.

Why? What would that have solved/proved?

November-6th-2007, 09:01 AM
n/m

The guy doesn't need an ass-beating, just a lot of public ridicule. And heckling.

Maybe someone could find out one of the tragedies in his life, and mock him appropriately? Maybe dress up as his dead dog fluffy who got hit by a bus when he was only 10. With a sign that said "why didn't you have me on a leash? My death was your fault."

or something similar

I just want the guy to live in fear for a while. The more people that see this the better the chance his buddies will tell him how it is posted all over the web and he will be looking over his shoulder.

It's bad taste but frankly the replies are a bit surprising. This kind of thing is the norm on halloween. Like others have mentioned Steve Irwin died and people all had barbs and snorkels ready to go. Earnhardt died and people had costumes about that too. Definately bad taste and guilty of breaking the "too soon!" rule.. but not exactly unexpected. I bet it's more common then people think too.

Also he looks much more like a student then anything else - Cho was all dressed up like a wanna-be military guy. He had a vest and gloves on and everything. This kid is just wearing a backpack and a vtech shirt, definately looks more like a victim.

Well I'm surprised that some are surprised about some of the replies being surprising. It's this type of attitude that has the world viewing us as they do. But, to each his own I guess.

It would have solved the blood boiling in my brain. Are you kidding? If one of your kids was a victim of that tragedy, and you saw this ****, you're telling me you'd give him the ****ing shame shame finger? Even the middle finger? How about all fingers clutched, across his dome.

Losing family members brings extreme hardship, depression, pain, nostalgia, ect ect. I can't imagine how those families felt having a life cut-short by a wimp like that piece of corn in my ****. This guy who dressed up in this costume, obviously has never felt that kind of pain. And jumping him might give him a sample of how it feels. Yet, I think most people would whip his ass to manage the stress that costume would bring on them upon seeing it.

I think the problem is that the kids weren't on a television show playing with wild animals or driving a car around at 200 mph for sport -- they were murdered. I have no problem with costumes pushing the line as far as taste goes, but murder victims is a bit ridiculous.

stupid costume.

but it doesnt take a genius to figure out that its meant to be a victim. might want to change the thread title.

Violence doesn't really calm me down or help my depression/anger. It sure as hell won't bring back my loved one. Just because the guy is a dick doesn't mean he deserves an ass beating.

Well, that would make you a POS to.

Well, in my defense it got over quite well at the parties I went to that night. I would go up to people and ask if they minded if I crashed at their place. As Dennis Miller once said, there's the real world and there's the joke world. And the joke world can be pretty tough...wear a cup.

The motive doesn't have to be a supernatural regeneration of your loved one. It has to do with this guy being more than a dick. He makes a mockery of the said tragedy. It doesn't have much to do with depression, and a lot to do with the respect one would expect. The long term pain balled up inside would easily become a short-term shock feeling. I'm not trying to help this guy, I don't care what he deserves. I know what I deserve, and that is help from this society not to shove attempted blunt-humor in my face about what my sibling looked like that day. When it comes to disrespect of that magnitude, it would set me off, I'm sorry. I may not have whooped his ass, but I would have asked him if he thought he was cute and funny. His response would dictate his destiny.

I would like to hear how this guy's night went. I'm sure he got more than one tongue lashing. And, if there was any alcohol involved, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he ended up on the wrong side of an ass kicking.

Interesting. I'm not at all trying to defend the person in the picture, but I'm more interested in the sociological implication of the reaction here. Am I to take it, then, that dressing up as one of our "historical" mass murderers would be just as bad, or would that be ok? Ted Bundy... Manson... Dahmer...

Is there a statute of limitations on your anger at this kind of display?

Again, not trying to defend it (I find it in poor taste personally), but just trying to understand this.

Well in most cases anger subsides over time. The VA TECH massacre is still fresh in our minds. It also involved many young adults who were promising contributors to society.

Allot of people dressed up like OJ for years - he is an unconvicted murderer - in my opinion - is that wrong?

The A-hole factor is big on halloween.
