View Full Version : Does anyone miss Derrick Dockery?

I thought I'd miss him big time, but Pete Kendall has spelled him more than adequately. The downside about Kendall is he's getting older and, in turn, Dockery is still young. But, apart from how well Kendall is playing, when I saw the contract Dockery signed for, I was glad we actually exercised some long due reticence in doling out blockbuster contracts, even for a home-grown asset such as him. I'll still miss him, but not as much as I thought, especially given the money he was asking for. And this ought to teach us (and Snyder) that we can get some solid o-line talent for a relative song.

I don't necassarily miss him...he was cool while he was here no doubt. But Kendall has stepped into his spot perfectly fine. Dockery was a "false start" machine. Every drive, you'd hear the ref say "False start...number 66".

I think Kendall is doing a fine job as a filler for now. he was relatively cheap (in regards to Dockery's deal) and should fill the void for the next 2-3 years until we draft or overpay another one.

When are they targeting getting RT back? I can't recall. If we're still in the thick of things when he gets back, it should be a huge boost for us.

I saw Dockery get caught on a false start late in the Dallas game this year...so no I don't miss him. Kendall and Fabini have both been solid in that respect.

Dockery's been playing lights out, actually. Their O-line is pretty good, except for the guy at center. Usually speaking, when they run, they use the left side of the line.

If I remember correctly it should be a few weeks (hopefully). I think when he originally got hurt they said 9 weeks and that was, what, 6 weeks ago?

Yep I miss Doc. Just too expensive to keep him. Not sure how is overall performance is in Buffalo. Kendell has been solid in his place.

I will tell you this. The Bills are playing at a real high level. They are 4-4 and shouid be 6-2. If you think we have an easy one with them, you are wrong. They are a good team that is on the rise. I am not looking foward to playing them. And yes I do miss Dock, good chemistry

True that. He wanted top 3 O line money...without actually being anywhere near a top 3 OG.

Well since most of Marshawn Lynches big runs have come off the right side, I don't think Buffallo is feeling Mr. Dockery to much. I miss Randy, and Jansen. Man what a team this would be if we were healthy....you hear that Joe, you old man you.

No. I would have kept him for a 4-5 mil per year deal but not for 50 million.
Kendall has been as good or better than him.

Not at all. I was flipping out when we did nothing to replace, but ecstatic when Pete Kendall fell into our lap. Def the best move of the offseason, but a little troubling that it took a complete fall out with the Jets to get him. If we didnt luck out and get him, our o-line would be even worse off than it was a few weeks ago and this season could be in an entirely different direction.

Dockery was so overated, I'd have blown a fuse if we played him all that money. Kendal has been better & cheaper.

He never wanted top 3 O Line money.
He was OFFERED top 3 O Line money.
And I don't care who you are, you take that deal.
Kendall is doing great, but since I'm greedy, I wish we had Dockery and Kendall right about now. Maybe hopefully one of them can play RG over Fabini.
But yeah, not for 65 mil.

Dockery is the perfect example of a player who saved his best season for his career year. He was an average performer his first 3 seasons in the NFL, strong in the run game but a poor pass protector.
The Bills overpaid for him just as the 49ers overpaid for Jonas Jennings and the Cowboys overpaid for Leonard Davis.

I miss both Dockery and Joe Salave'a. Loved the guys and thought they were both FINE football players.

It took that moron 3 years to be good. The Bills can have him.

I'm thrilled with Kendall. Our O-line would be dominant with a healthy Randy Thomas & Jon Jansen.

Always felt like Dock was overrated. Plus, he got about 3 times what he was worth somewhere else...can't blame him for leaving. Kendall has done great. So, no, I don't miss him.

i miss Dockery only because he was younger then Kendall but Kendall is better overall right now, unfortuantly he's 34 so he'll only be that good for a few more years.
