View Full Version : My New Santana Moss Retro Jersey

After weeks, actually a month and a half, today I finally found the right size I was looking for...a medium. My first attempt in the beginning of October was a trip to the Redskins Store, where I was told there is no size lower than a large for the Retro Jerseys.

Amazingly and unexpectedly, today I was walking in Finish Line @ Dulles Town Center and came across a full row of Retro Jerseys that were a medium. Without hesitating, I asked for one of the employees to pull down the Moss jersey and let me try it on...perfect!

I came home and hung my jersey up, and a thought came across my mind. Santana Moss is one of my favorite players, so without even thinking about the Campbell I had wanted earlier, I brought the Moss home.

When you buy a jersey, you gotta make sure you know everything about the player. I want my jersey to last a good 1-3 years before I get another one, since I'm not as rich as you guys :silly:

I know for fact Campbell is most likely gonna be here for more than five years, I don't know about Moss though. I'm afraid that now like my Arrington I bought back in '03, Moss will leave soon.

Not just for my jersey, but I love the guy in general (no homo). I checked on the roster to see how long he'll be here, but I couldn't find any information. I even went to askjeeves.com

Anyone know?

P.S. - Howcome they don't have the "Captain Chaos Strikes Again!" t-shirts at the Skins store? Heard its gonna take a few weeks :(

Santana Moss was signed to a 6-year extension to his rookie year contract that had one year left in 2005. Therefore 7 total years. Moss will be a FA in 2012. Note, this doesn't necessarily mean he will be a Redskin for that whole time, as we always do extensions, and there could be salary cap issues.

However, as of now, Santana Moss will be a Redskin until 2012.

Check Ebay... their "authentics" usually cost as much as a replica.

I dont think you specified...but is this the retro jersey we wore week 3 against the Giants? Or is it the 70th Anniversary jersey from 2002 and 2003? I remember seeing 70th Anniversary jersey's for Moss all over the place including that exact finish line at Dulles town center

Sweet, now all we need to do is draft Limas Sweed from Texas next year and slide ARE to the slot WR position and we're set! ;)

My first jersey, an Arrington, was burned on the iron. I'm gonna be extremely careful with my Moss jersey. Wore it today and I loved it, it felt good because this is only my second Redskin Jersey.

I dont think im gonna have to wash it in a while. But when I do, i'm gonna make sure I come back here.

Back in my day? Damn I must be old haha, yeah we used to say that back in the old days when the world was still black and white...the world didn't turn color until like 1998 or something.

When he said "back in your day," I was taken aback. Back in our day, we had to make phone calls from home using these things called "cords." We couldn't take phones with us everywhere. When our parents wanted us, they went and found us. Those same "cords" connected our video game controllers to our consoles. Back then we played with glorious pixels, not these polygons you speak of. We had 4 goddamn buttons on our controllers. 4! Computers were used for typing papers and not much else. Printer paper came all connected with these funny strips down the sides so the printer could feed it properly. And this internet that you love so dearly didn't exist! You wanted a replica jersey for cheap? Tough, go steal one. You want a rare book printed only in Europe? Fly your ass over there. You want to send a note to your Grandma in the yucatan peninsula? Get a piece of paper and write on it with a "pen!" Then you have to write an address on it, and there's no @ sign in those kinds of addresses! And you had to WALK out and put it in a BOX to get it there! Speak of "our day" with respect. You wouldn't last 5 seconds in it.

What the hell did we use the @ sign for back then anyway?

But on the topic, you should have just bought a Green or Monk jersey.

When he said "back in your day," I was taken aback. Back in our day, we had to make phone calls from home using these things called "cords." Yeah, but they probably at least had push buttons on them instead of dials. We couldn't take phones with us everywhere. When our parents wanted us, they went and found us. Those same "cords" connected our video game controllers to our consoles. Back then we played with glorious pixels, not these polygons you speak of. We had 4 goddamn buttons on our controllers. 4! Computers were used for typing papers and not much else. Computers!?! Try type writers without correction tape! Just to be ancient, use a non-electric. Printer paper came all connected with these funny strips down the sides so the printer could feed it properly. And this internet that you love so dearly didn't exist! You wanted a replica jersey for cheap? Jerseys? Heck, you'd be lucky enough to own a t-shirt with an iron-on design. And you had to WALK out and put it in a [mail]BOX to get it there! Ha ha! We had a slot in our door and the mailman would pick up mail from there. Speak of "our day" with respect. You wouldn't last 5 seconds in it.

What the hell did we use the @ sign for back then anyway? That's a good question. Dunno?!

Oh man, that brings me back. I remeber that damn computer paper with the wholes in it on the side. Then you had to try in rip that part off, with out ripping your paper. Good stuff.

You forget pagers. These younguns have text messaging, we used pager code. Anyone still remeber pager code?

Anyway , on to the topic. Buying a jersey is a tuff investment. You don't want to get stuck with a jersey. Right now I have a Bailey and a Ramsey:doh: jersey in my cloest that never see the light of day. I got my CP jersey I wear every gameday, So I have been thinking I need a new one. Actually two new one, one for myself and one for the boy, he only 9 months it will be his first redskin jersey.

So I have been thinking JC, but after my Ramsey debacle Im going to wait till I see more consistancy. Flecther is awesome , but how many more years left? So its down to Taylor or Cooley. So I think im going with Taylor. He should be here for awhile.

I don't know how long he will be a redskin for. I hope for the remainder, but you never know with situations today. I think that he will be a player here for a little while, Springs and Portis might be more of an issue because of their large contracts and the way their money is given out.
