To the Browns!!! That's right the Browns. Remember they traded there first to the Cowboys. I understand that the Cowboys thoguht they were getting the number 1 (or top 5 pick). But it looks they will not get a top 15 pick. THANK YOU BROWNS!!! btw I searched for this and couldn't find anything related.

Honestly? I think they're doing us a favor b/c we need a deep threat WR/blue chip corner alot more than McFadden.:2cents:

Of course we would take him if he fell in our laps, but I really hope we don't go trading both our firsts for a chance to move up and get him. Call me stupid, but we need youth at wideout and some more secondary depth. We really don't need someone new in the backfield and honestly, don't need much help at all in the immediate future on the offensive side of the ball.
It's not like we're struggling to score. I'm just afraid we're going to get dropoff at the wideout position as TO starts to get older. Need someone young to be waiting in the wings behind him.

They don't need a running back. So why would they draft one if they don't need one?
Marion Barber is a top 10 back.
They'll draft WR DeSean Jackson or Mario Manningham b/c TO and Glenn are getting old and they'll need a young WR to compliment Crayton once To and Glenn retire.
So no they wouldn't draft AP vol. 2........

This was assuming the Browns were gonna suck this year and the Cowboys would get a top 5 pick, thus not having to use both 1st round picks to trade up.
If the Cowboys HAD a top 5 pick and they didnt use it on McFadden (looks every bit as good as Peterson did in college) that would just be stupid.

If I had my choice, I'd like to have seen it in the top 10, just not near the top. Oakland just gave Jamarcus Russell a $10M/yr contract, and they have no idea whether or not he can play.
I think it'll wind up around 15-18. I seriously doubt Cleveland can make the playoffs. That'll be a good area to pick up a WR or CB.
But for the Redskin fans, I'll leave you with this wonderful thought: we have 2 #1s and the rest of our picks; a much younger team than you; a ton of salary cap space; a noticably more talented roster; and a franchise QB instead of Jason Campbell.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

As a fan I am glad we wont have a top 5 pick either....I would rather spend cap money on a player that has NFL experence than drop a ton of money on a player that has zero experence in the NFL....plus I just have a fear that Jerry would screw it up and do something dumb with a top 5 pick anyway....McFadden would be great dont get me wrong but right now we have to worry about getting Marion Barber signed as he will be a RFA after this year and you know teams will go after him

I would love McFadden. But not a damn soul not even the Patriots can tackle Barber.
Sucks we don't get a Top 5 pick ... but that's not our goal. Super Bowl is. Eff the draft pick, We want to win the Ship.
Malcolm Jenkins & Malcolm Kelly/DeSean Jackson/Early Doucet makes the draft going to be one for the ages!

Do you guys still have two picks next year in the first round? Seriously.
Second, at least you admit you would love McFadden... I suppose that is a step towards honesty.

I don't think it matters where the pick falls I think Jones will do everything in his power to get DMC. With Jones being an Arkansas Alum, its just in the cards, especially since he sees what AD is doing right now. I also wouldn't be suprised to see Jones go after a big name WR in FA as well as resign Barber and Crayton. Seeing the trends in the NFL Jones is not very far away from having a running game like AD provides and a passing game like NE.

I don't see it happening. The only way we trade up for McFadden would be to package our two 1st, probably a 2nd or 3rd and a guy like Newman or Ware.

It's always tempting to go with the flashy runningback and I'll admit that when we got the Cleveland pick McFadden was the first person that jumped into my mind. But now that I look at things without that flashy running back being waved in my face I see that we would be much more wise using our #1's on a corner and a wide reciever.

You and CincyCowboy are either related or the same person, because all we ever see out of either of you is blatant trolling to rile up Skins fans. Why don't you go spout your bull**** somewhere else like CZ, where anyone really gives a crap.

the browns are pissing me off. Regardless of who the cowboys would pick, a top 5 pick is way more valuable than a 15-20 pick. if the cowboys didn't want to pick that early, they still could have traded down and picked up more draft picks..
having said that, i still think it was a good trade for the cowboys

But for the Cowboys fans, I'll leave you this- you guys have tons of draft picks year in and year out. Tons of Cap space. And you've managed to draft 4 Lbers in the first round, only one of whom is actually very good.
So, honestly, I'm not too worried about your almight scouting abilities in that first round.

I think you have reason to like Barber, because I like what I see (or don't like, lol). But are you really sold on him as a pure runner? It's not like he's getting that much work, or ever has.

If the Ravens and the Bengals continue to struggle and the Browns keep scoring 40 points, the Browns could very well be a wild card team. I could be missing someone but I think it's looking like the Browns and the Titans as it stands. They will probably have to play in Pittsburgh where they will be slaughtered but at least making the playoffs pushes that pick down that much further.

Barber is a hell of a runner, and very strong. He runs too hard to be able to take a beating as a full time starter over the course of a season though I think

Anyone who doesn't want a "free" top 5 pick needs to get their head examined. Even if you think you know more about drafting than our FO, we could always trade down and pick up another #1 next year.

Darn those Browns, they needed to stink one more year. I would have liked McFadden. I suppose it could still happen with bundled picks but I'd be suprised if they did it. It will work out though, settling for having 2 first rounders isn't so bad.
Seriously though, I'm curious how they will handle Anderson. He's a FA next year and is earning a fat contract.

Has anyone seen the browns schedule for the rest of the season. None of the teams have a winning record. The jets bills ravens bengals raiders texans and the saints. They have to make the playoffs with those teams coming up they just won't win in the playoffs.
