I really thought he'd prove himself with the Raiders. Looks he did, just the opposite of what I was thinking!!!
Scouts Feel Raiders QB Daunte Culpepper Is Done?
According to a pair of scouts who spoke with PFW recently, Raiders QB Daunte Culpepper has done little in his time with the Raiders this season to give other teams much confidence in his value on the free-agent market next spring. “Culpepper was never the most mobile guy,” said one AFC scout. “But to me, he looks more stiff and robotic and mechanical moving around the pocket. He just looks tight moving around, and I don’t think he’s all the way back from that knee yet. He was never Michael Vick, but at least he could move around a little more. He can’t even make the subtle shifts in the pocket. You just don’t see it.”

Heh-isn't that what everyone is saying about DMac this year?

That sucks for Daunte. How do you go from Co-MVP to this in so short a time? Vikings should have never taken Moss from him.

Heh-isn't that what everyone is saying about DMac this year? Some said it but McNabb is a proven QB. Culpepper who exploded on the NFL scene fell apart before the injury. He appears to have been a product of a scheme and Randy Moss.

Hmmm, could Romo be similar to Culpepper....a product of the scheme and TO?

I'm biased, but Romo isn't exactly just tossing the ball up to TO and letting him go get it like Culpepper did with Moss a lot in his Minny days. He does a really nice job of spreading the ball around to multiple targets. He also seems to make a good read the vast majority of the time and throws to the guy that's open.

I dunno. If reading defenses and throwing the ball accurately to the open guy are a product of the scheme that we're running, well, more teams should run it. :D

Didn't he throw for 3 TDs and rush for 2 more in a game this year?

The first game back this year he did something like that, but only threw for about 50 yards. Don't have the stats in front of me at the moment.

Edit - It was against Miami in the second game he played in this season. He threw for 2 TDs and ran for 3 TDs, but he was only 5/12 for 75 yards.

He does a really nice job of spreading the ball around to multiple targets. He also seems to make a good read the vast majority of the time and throws to the guy that's open.Over the years Moss and TO have not only allowed their QB's to throw it up for them, they expand the field and take up multiple defenders opening up other receivers.

During some of Culpepper's big seasons he didn't have any other real WR, yet the virtual unknowns put up numbers because they often enjoyed single coverage with the weaker DB's. Having TO on the field opens up Romo's other weapons like few WR's can do!
