Glad that we are all in this together :D
Several veterans said they have learned to brace for confusion on the sideline in crucial situations, and doubt it will change nearly four years into the regime.
"It's frustrating, but it's not anything new to us," one said. "We look at it like it's something we have to overcome."
Lineman Lorenzo Alexander (http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/related/topic/Lorenzo+Alexander?tid=informline), a member of the field goal unit, said that by the time a decision to kick came from Gibbs, time was running out.
"We were just waiting on the word so we could run out there and kick it," Alexander said. "And then by the time we got out there I don't think we had time to get it done."
Kicker Shaun Suisham (http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/related/topic/Shaun+Suisham?tid=informline) said, "I just waited to go on the field until I'm told to, and we were going to run out of time there and then they made the decision to call time out."
Another veteran said that players talk among themselves about the coaching decisions, but that he did not sense the players would begin turning on Gibbs, who has praised their effort each week. Tackle Chris Samuels (http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/related/topic/Chris+Samuels?tid=informline), a Redskin since 2000, said the players have more than their own share of problems to overcome, rather than worrying about coaching decisions.
"I just take care of my business, I don't question what the coach calls," Samuels said. "He gets paid a lot of money to do his job."

AHHH, this just keeps getting better...Gibbs press conference was a joke, we received no answers just bland watered down excuses. This is not a surprise however, who calls timeout to receive a punt right before the 2 min warning. The team doesn't have any clue.

Yes his press conference was a joke. One of the ***** reporters asked him this seriously pressing question:
(paraphrasing)
"So with Sean out, some of the other guys will get an opportunity to step up?"
*Edit: This was asked before any questions about the timeouts, the 3rd & 7 draw, etc.
This is what's wrong with all media, journalists are scared to death to ask tough questions for fear they will not be answered so they settle for garbage like that.

As Gibbs stated in his press conference, it was not knowing the spot of the ball that lead them take their time. They thought it was closer than it was and were debating going for it. He though they were going to measure it, but they didn't.
Given that, I still think he should have recognized they weren't going to measure sooner and probably could have assumed it was far... but whose to say it wasn't just a half a football in which case going for it might have been an option?

Gibbs was unflinching in his defense of the draw play as well, although Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson commented after the game that he expected it. Gibbs allowed quarterback Jason Campbell to decide at the line whether to run the draw or pass. He praised Campbell for opting for the draw play, although Portis fell three yards short of the goal line. Gibbs also had a terse assessment of Johnson's comment: "Normally they do [know what play is coming] after it's over with. . . . They're always pretty sharp on that."Interesting.

Given that the Curse of Dan Snyder is in full effect right now, it would be just our luck that Tomlin would come down here and make us miss Norv Turner.

Some body needs to do to snyder what they did to MO GREEN in the movie The God Father.
Mo green: " No body buys me out"
You see what Michael Corleone did to Mo Green.

Yeah and the little brown head goon on the JG show, what a #$%%. He and larry micheals sat there before JG got and ripped the media for asking the same questions over and over yesterday. JG gets in and what does the little d$^%$ bag do ask the same f'ing questions that were asked yesterday. He and LM both agreeded that there is a good amount of football IQ in the media sessions...WTF. Because you know the difference between run and pass does not mean you have football IQ.

Gibbs needs to go. You can't consistently waste timeouts in such situations, you have to be decisive. Gibbs II is not Gibbs I. I still love him, but the game has passed him by.

Like what the hell is that though? I mean I get the whole concept of "the game has passed him by" but not the length of the field or the distance to a kick, or how time works!!! I just don't understand what is going on. Again, it is very superficial and incredibly easy to put a one liner out there like "he dosn't make half time adjustments anymore" but clearly that isn't true. They go into half time and I am sure Joe Gibbs suggests half time adjustments, they just don't work now! But why? The game itself hasn't changed. I understand if the players were quitting on him, he was having problems with the new hip hop star mentality of the players and couldn't motivate them etc but that is not really what the large majority of problems with Joe and this staff is about (not yet anyway). We are seeing problems with "play calling", "poor adjustments", "poor clock management", "poor execution", "poor discipline" etc etc these are things I just don't understand. This isnt a new game. It certainly hasn't changed so much that a guy who has won three superbowls can't follow the game!! Its still 100 yards on a field. 60 minutes, 11 on a side.

i just do not see the fuss...this article is the Post stirring up BS...making up an angle that the players have to overcome the coaches...gimme a break thats BS.
These are all unique situations with play calling and clock stuff... and sometimes up here this **** happens...Gibbs is fine...if only the players could do what he thinks they can do...then we would be somewhere better!
