It's now all physical.
The mental aspect of the team has now collasped, and the only way we will ourself to playoff contention is through physical play. And as some others have implied the team is beaten injury wise, and it's not getting any better as the season seems to progress. Even after the news conference (The coach is totally beaten) and his demeanor along with the loss of words to reporters tells the story entirely. Sure, we're all totally beaten and demoralized after several years of head scratching and mediocrity from the Organization overall. But wasn't that the reason Joe came back? To hopefully rekindle and restore the magical seasons that so many of us treasure?
The end is near and if any one thinks for one moment that Gibbs return next season is possible, then forget it. Even Chris Samules wanted to apologize to the coach for not performing up to his standards, and in return Gibbs is actually apologizing to us in the same fashion, from the heart. And with that, Gibbs is a man that totally understands when it's time to gracefully call it quits, just like before. If it's anyone that's feeling the pain a little more harshly than us the fan, it's Gibbs the man. And of course Danny won't fire Joe, he has to much respect and integrity for the old ball coach. But in retrospect, Gibbs has just as much integrity and loyalty to this fan base that he knows this is his last train ride. And with this last train ride will come players hopefully given it they're all during this last hoorah. So don't be surprised if we put up one helluva fight against Dallas but still come up just a little short. Why? Because it's not mental anymore, it's physical. And with that physical mentality will show just how depleted this team is from injuries and short on the depth chart.
But don't get it twisted, this is not the end, actually this is the beginning. The beginning of the future for better things to come. The making of players like Campbell, Taylor, Landry, Montgomery, Mcintosh, Cooley and a few others. This is the last episode of "Gibbs is back" in our Nations Capitol, and it's going to be physical until the end. Sure! we're not Superbowl contenders, but have just enough left in the tank to ride this depleted team from injuries into the sunset (playoffs). Especially with a mediocre NFC and Dallas being the only front runners. We have players to build on, and a young QB with potential to do great things. While on the other hand, teams like the Eagles, Seahawks. Packers, Carolina and a few others are coming to an end in the QB department after years of playoff representatives.
And to top it off, Danny is getting wiser when it comes to being the boy wonder as owner. You may disagree, but I have to beg the differ. After this roller coaster of a ride and obtaining the franchise at the age of 35, Danny has made some costly mistakes indeed. But after so many years of ups and downs and playing fantasy football. I think Danny is really starting to see the big picture. Yea! the fan is paying for it, but I think after Gibbs departure this year, Danny will only be a better owner when making FO decisions and signing FA's. And hopefully a GM is in the plans and a stealth coach with a wide range of knowledge, fire and motivational skills.
So look at our future and not the present day, because today and till the end of the season it's all physical. But tomorrow with a newly acquired young coach and alot of passion and heart, it will soon become all mental again.
