View Full Version : It's the offense that needs to shape up if we plan to win Sunday.

Lets face it, Dallas is a scoring machine right now. Not to mention we have some key starters on defense either out, or very fragile going into this game.

Even a good defense is going to struggle to keep Dallas off of the scoreboard for very long.

Our offense needs to have the game of it's life.

More then points, we need to see execution. I have a feeling that the best way to stop Dallas's offense is to keep them off the field. We don't even want to bother with a shootout, because right now Dallas has an offense that can stetch the field and get into the endzone fast. They can get up and down that field.

We need to have long "punch them in the face" drawn out drives that end in TOUCHDOWNS and not field goals.

Yeah, I know easier said then done, and a lot of people will think I am crazy for suggesting this type of strategy, but the reality is, is that our offense is not at the stage in their progression that we can expect them to win 30+ point shootouts. Our personnel with all the injuries, is much more suited to punch opponents in the mouth.

I don't have much faith in our defense this weekend. That Dallas O is too good. So yea, I completely agree with you. Our offense needs to be on top of its game this weekend. At least 4 yards a carry, and Campbell can't turn the ball over. None of this NE bull ****. We need to keep up with them. I have more faith in our O this week than I do in our D. Hopefuly the defense will pleasantly surprise me. We will only have a chance on defense if we're able to force Romo into making mistakes, which he is prone to doing when under pressure. But if we try rushing 4 guys again, we're done on defense.

but the reality is, is that our offense is not at the stage in their progression that we can expect them to win 30+ point shootouts. .

Hmmm, I don't know. I feel like our offense is at a stage where it's very inconsistent....good enough to put up 35 points one week but inconsistent to the point where it only puts up 13 the next. I remember back in 2005, our offense was inconsistent in the amount of points it scored. Like the Tampa Bay game, where it put up 35 against one of the top ranked Ds in the NFL....only to put up 13 to the lowly Oakland Raiders.

Well when we put up 34 points against Detroit, our defense DOMINATED their offense the entire game, which gave our offense a lot of oppurtunities.

We just need our players to all have a great game all the way around. Defense, Offense, and Teams. If not, we are going to be in for a very long day.

I couldn't care less if our defense is on the field all day long as long as we score TD's on "O". I'll take 4 possessions - 4 TD's, in the first half no matter how we get them. Along the way, we can punch them in the face.

I would say that if JC can throw for more than 250 yards and Portis can rush for 100+ we will be in this game until the end. Anything less than those kind of numbers and we're in big trouble.

And for those of you who think this is an easy achievment I remind you Portis has 2 100+ yard games in the past year and JC has NEVER thrown for 250. So to have both would be a blessing....Or an offense...Or balance? Good Coaching? Consistency? Something like that... :whoknows:

I agree because the D is gonna have lots of problems without ST. I do think the offense can score some points on the Cowgirls, especially going no huddle. The blocking will be key for our offense because guys like Ware can take over a game. Even with little D, if the offense puts up some points, it at least won't be a beatdown like the Pats game.

If the game is in the 20's, we stand a chance. If it looks like it'll get in the 30's forget about it.
