What are the chances of us making the playoffs at 9-7 because I see that as our best case scenarioe right now.

50/50 to answer your question.

Can it be done? I'm not as sure as I was after a 6 TO day...

Giants and Eagles losing this weekend could help, but with some I agree.. What is the point? We do suck. Rather its cuz of injuries or coaching... We suck, face it.

Good.

Our chances of making between 9 and 7 turnovers is very good, actually. Wait, was that the question?

GaryGreenMonk
November-25th-2007, 03:34 PM
Surprisingly pretty good.

Problem is we can only lose one more game.

The biggest team standing in our way is also surprising in Arizona.

Unfortunately, the paloffs will be Cowboys, Green Bay, Tampa, Seattle as divisional winners. And Giants and Arizona as the wildcards. Yes...we will lose a wild card spot to Arizona and most likely it will come back to this game as the reason why.

And to pile it on, we will end up 8-8 and miss the playoffs and not get any good draft picks ensuring that we are 8-8 at best next year too probably.

November-25th-2007, 03:34 PM
8-8..we are going to go on a 3 game winning streak to end the season.,

The real question is will 8-8 be enough to make the playoffs?

The odds on this team are long, mainly because you can't count on Portis and Moss to put up good numbers and be effective week in and week out. Without quality play from the RB and WR positions, Campbell can sit back there and make a lot of throws but the end result is going to be a loss.

even if we do make the playoffs, we won't last long. this team doesn't know how to close.

Why care about playoffs at this point, besides the grand reward would be getting crushed on national TV by the Patriots at best.

A respectable record and some more NFC East wins would be enough for me, this team isn't ready.

I just can't accept the fact that I have to wait until yet another September to have any hope. It's like the Olympics with this team. Every 4 ****ing years you can expect real competition.

Wyndorf25
November-25th-2007, 03:44 PM
This team just needs to concentrate on winning the next two home games against teams that they should beat--Buffalo and Chicago. After that, everyone will know whether or not this team is going anywhere.

Its easy to give an emotional repsonse and proclaim that the season is over, its not. Yes, you have recent events to back you up in your 'bold' proclimations, but there is still football left to be played. With the exception of the Pats game, the Skins have been competitive in every single game until the end. It is possible to correct these mistakes that are leading to 4th quarter breakdowns and the breaks will start coming the Skins' way, they just need to be prepared for when they do.

Soon, two pro-bowlers will be returning to the line-up (Taylor and Thomas) and Campbell has gained another experience feather in the headress. Im taking a wait and see aproach. My :2cents:

I think we all are going to continue watching, and rooting, I know I am. But I dont want to set myself up to be dissapointed, everyone in this topic is just accepting reality, that playoffs are most likely not going to happen\

Does that mean we are going to stop rooting for our team? Hell no

I've been a Redskins fan for all my life (37 next month) but I'm sorry, I just don't believe this team believes they can win. All those close games, and all these losses, it has to be hard to take. As frustrating as it is for us as fans, can you imagine how bad it must feel for them? Fact is, we still do have a young QB. Its easy to forgot that at times, he's played so well this year, but I think it just takes time and experience to become a winner. Jason is close, but its just not there yet. And Moss' drops are continuing to hurt us. And Portis hasn't had a fumbling problem this year, but today sure was brutal. I'm just so wiped out. Its emotionally draining to get my hopes up each week, only to be crushed in the last minute of the game. I'll go cry to my dog now. :(

How about not throwing to the other team. All this must happen before this pitiful team even thinks about the word Play off.

Pathetic display of having to overcome mistake after mistake. Just beat somebody.

I don't understand how some people think we even still have a chance at making the playoffs. If we can't beat the Eagles or Bucs, and just slip away with wins with Miami and New York (Jets), why in the world do we even deserve to be in the playoffs.

Being a Redskin fan has shown me on to get my hopes up for a very unlikely event, such as making the playoffs this season. You just gotta deal with it and then move on to next season. And if we did make the playoffs this season, we don't deserve it.

We had the chance to be in the drivers seat today amongst these teams. Today was a must win. Instead we got another "Horseshoes and Handgrandes" Redskins classic.

Yes, there will be a 9-7 wild card from the NFC but it aint going to be us because we aren't winning 4 more games. Hell, I'm scared of the Bills at this point.

I don't think this team has the intelligence or heart to win. The offensive could not pick up half a yard in a must win game in the red zone and our QB does not have the intelligence to play the position in the NFL....Two key turnovers with the game on the line...

UltimateSkins
November-25th-2007, 04:02 PM
We aren't going to the playoffs. With all the injuries, turnovers, and crappy red zone play calling, 7-9 is where we are headed.

November-25th-2007, 04:03 PM
Can we let the playoffs talk go right now. If we get in it will be because we backed in...right now I'd settle for 8-8...it's a sad thing when we think 8-8 is not a bad thing.

bulldog
November-25th-2007, 04:03 PM
well, as long as the skill players don't make plays but cost the team with turnovers and the offensive line remains the brittle, weak unit it has been on the right side since Week 2........the Skins don't figure to beat too many quality teams from here on out.

Minnesota's win today over the Giants should be ample evidence that those last 5 games are not going to be easy.........ANY of them :)

even if we do make the playoffs, we won't last long. this team doesn't know how to close.I don't agree with this. The team did an outstanding job in the second half. They were down 16 points and came back to within striking distance. The Bucs were held to three and outs what, four times in a row? Redskins totally dominated the second half, save one play. JC is young and still learning. There is a lot to be optimistic about.

Still plenty of time. It will be tough, and it doesn't look good. But there's still a chance. Can't count this team out yet.Historically, Gibbs' teams play well in November, and they did play well this month, when you look at the whole picture. Historically, Gibbs' teams play even better in December. And I'm not talking about Gibbs I teams, I'm including '04 through '06. There's plenty of unexpected wins coming up this season. Stay tuned.

I'll be honest making 8-8 at this point is looking very dim. Injuries have really hurt us. I think what we should do is pull out all stops in our next game, if we lose there, then we start seeing what some of our depth is like and rest some of our starters so they don't get injured near end of the season

goldenster95
November-25th-2007, 04:18 PM
If we do make the playoffs, we might actually surprise some people. Why? Randy Thomas will be back. So will Sean Taylor. Moss will continue to heal. And Campbell will continue to progress.

So long as we make it there with no further injuries, things might get interesting.

Of course, as Craig stated previously, we've got to start winning. And I think we can do that.

the Redskins are their own worse enemy

When I watch the Redskins in critical situations or with the game on the line, I now hear the The Three Stooges music playing in my head. The stooges were always knocking themselves in the head, poking each each in the eyes, kicking one another in the rear, and generally inflicting numerous other pains on one another.

I think if we lower our expectations, it wouldn't hurt so much when the inevitable loss happens for the umpteenth time. Starting with the Philly loss, I lowered my expectations. If they make the playoffs, I will consider it a very pleasant surprise.

On the other hand, the players are getting paid millions of dollars even after these crushing defeats. What are the fans getting other than ulcers, high blood pressure, heart palpitations, and other medical problems. Lowering expectations is a form of preventative medicine. So let's stop the playoffs talk for now. You'll feel a lot better after another disheartening defeat. :2cents:

LOL...I hear ya Mark. Just take it with a grain of salt. It's one thing to root for a team that gets blown out every week, it is another to root for a team that (nearly) always plays well enough to win--but does'nt.
