The entire NFL is deeply saddened by the death of Sean Taylor. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Sean's family, friends, teammates, and the Redskins' organization. This is a terrible tragedy involving the loss of a young man who leaves behind many people struggling to understand it. Our office is staying in close contact with the Redskins to provide all appropriate support to the club and Sean's family. We also are working to determine the facts surrounding this tragic event. We will honor the memory of Sean Taylor at all games this weekend.

It's the least they could do.

All of the NFL will mourn his passing... not just the Redskins.

He was a respected member of the NFL fraternity and deserves some respect at the games this weekend.

That'd be nice but they didn't do that with Darrent Williams or the Kansas City linebacker so that'd be kind of unfair to do all of a sudden but man this is terrible.

Perhaps something should be noted during the Green Bay vs Dallas game; after all it WAS Sean that intercepted Farve's record breaking pass.......

What's going to happen with his contract? I hope Goodell doesn't hold it against the cap and Snyder pays it in full.

Ironic first post with this name, I know.

I hate to sound insensitive but I've been wondering about this too.

Casserly mentioned a cap problem when CSN interviewed him about the affects this would have on-field. I don't quite understand why after an event like this his contract would stay on the Redskins cap.
