Miami lost to Charlotte twice yet beat the Suns in Phx. NBA...what a game.
Wade always has his best for the Wizards. Shaq seems to play well too.
This would be a good road win if they can pull it off.

They beat the lowly Clippers and pulled one off against Phoenix. Maybe they're starting to play good, maybe not. I thinks not though. I've been chronicling their season over at WE. They are a disaster.

Penny's comeback with Heat done
By Tim Reynolds,
AP Sports Writer
December 12, 2007
MIAMI --Penny Hardaway's comeback attempt with the Miami Heat has ended.
The 36-year-old forward was waived Wednesday, a move that cleared the roster spot Miami needed to sign another former first-round draft pick -- guard Luke Jackson. But the Heat haven't ruled out bringing Hardaway back in some capacity.
"It was a business decision more than anything else," Heat coach Pat Riley said. "We tried to do something last week. We couldn't. But you never know. He may be back. We'll just see what happens over the next month."
Hardaway signed a non-guaranteed contract with Miami this summer after recovering from an array of injuries that kept him off the court for nearly three full seasons. He started eight times this season, but averaged only 3.8 points on 37 percent shooting, and didn't play in any of Miami's past four games.
"It was a tough, tough move," said Riley, whose team is off to a 6-15 start.
Agent Jeff Wechsler said Hardaway was "very, very appreciative of the chance he got" from Riley and Miami owner Micky Arison, and that he intends to keep playing -- somewhere.
"He worked hard all summer, he worked hard through training camp and played well for them," Wechsler said. "He's getting everything back to where he needs to be."
Hardaway has a 15.2 point-per-game average in 704 career regular-season games. He was told of Miami's decision Wednesday morning before practice. He could be claimed off waivers by another team within a 48-hour window, although it's unclear if any other clubs will have interest.
Heat guard Dwyane Wade said he hopes to see Hardaway playing somewhere.
"I don't think he worked this hard for it to be the end," Wade said. "I think he's going to continue to try to play somewhere else. I think Penny will be best on a team that's really winning and have that veteran team where he can come in and help them. It's kind of tough on a team that's struggling like us. We need a lot of things right now."
Hardaway showed flashes of production with Miami: His 6-for-6, 16-point night in New Jersey on Nov. 17 keyed a 91-87 Heat victory.
In the four weeks that have followed, he managed a total of 19 points.
The once-electric guard was a fast-rising star when he entered the NBA for the 1993-94 season. One year later, he and Shaquille O'Neal brought an Eastern Conference championship to Orlando.
But knee problems kept Hardaway to 59 games in 1996-97, then surgery limited him to 19 games the following year. In the years that followed, he's battled plantar fasciitis, more knee surgery, thumb surgery and even more knee surgery.
He worked through all that and earned a shot with Miami. But when the Heat decided it wanted Jackson -- who essentially plays the same position -- it deemed Hardaway expendable.
"If we were 15-6, I wouldn't have made the move," Riley said. "I brought Penny in here knowing that he was going to give us experience, intelligence, basketball IQ, all of those things and some skill to facilitate Dwyane and Shaquille. This is not his fault. It's nothing he didn't do."
So now, Miami will see what kind of offensive boost the 26-year-old Jackson can provide.
Jackson was the 10th overall pick by Cleveland in the 2004 draft, then played only 10 games that year for the Cavaliers. The former Oregon star also has played with the Los Angeles Clippers and Toronto Raptors, plus done stints in the NBDL.
Jackson signed with the Idaho Stampede last week, scored 30 points in his first game with that club, then left the team for his workout with the Heat.
"It's been a tough journey to get here but I feel like I'm better for that," Jackson said. "So hopefully this is my time and there's a spot for me here to contribute."
Good thing they signed Smush Parker. Oh wait...that's right...
http://www.miamiherald.com/594/story/341546.html
PARKER PARTING?
The Heat has not ruled out keeping guard Smush Parker, but the sides are working on potential trades that would satisfy both parties.
The Heat did not practice Tuesday, and there was no indication whether Parker would join the team for Wednesday's workout, its first since returning from a six-game trip. Parker, eligible to be traded as early as Saturday, has not been with the team since his Nov. 27 altercation with a valet attendant.

Man, this has all the makings of a loss. The Heat are starting to play "well" and we never beat them with Wade and Shaq in the line-up. If we somehow manage to beat them tomorrow night..well, hell I don't know what to say..we'll win our division this year. We NEVER beat the Heat when they are healthy. The refs start calling bs calls in the 4th quarter to make it a tight game if they are down and then they somehow come back and win. They own the Wiz like the Cowboys owned the Skins until recently.

I have no idea why everyone was counting the Heat out for good. Every Shaq team slips and slides a bit early because Shaq doesn't care early. They are still Wade and O'Neal and they will still be on top when it counts.
That said, it will be interesting to see the "new" Brendan Haywood matching up with a somewhat debilitated Shaq O'Neal. The Heat certainly aren't in "full swing" right now so we might get 'em before they truly kick in.

Because it isn't about Shaq not caring this year. Shaq cares. Shaq is the only one who cares. And that is the problem. When WE goes back up go read all the articles I posted about the Heat. Shaq is furious. Shaq goes off every other day. On his teammates, on Riley, on everything and everyone.
The problem is a bunch of things. One, they should've at least resigned Posey. Him and Kapono leaving really hurt them. Then, as Skinfan2k also stated, the PG position for them is just a disaster. The Heat lost this season when Mo Williams shunned them and resigned with the Bucks. Jason Williams is a disaster. Smush Parker, their big FA signing, who was supposed to shore up the 1 spot, isn't even with the team. He assaulted some valet and they sent him home. He's a disaster.
All you really have on that team is an old-man Shaq (whose putting up career low numbers) and a hurting D Wade. The Heat are done.

Big game for us tonight. If we win I think we break away from .500 for the first time this season and sink the Heat ship even lower, so hopefully we get a win in Miami, something that has avoided us in past years!

Great first half, let's keep it going and get our first win in Miami since 2003.
I love the way Antonio Daniels runs the point, we are much more patient on the offense. I reiterate, we play better team basketball without Gilbert. Deshawn is indeed on fire, I'm not sure why he sat for so long in the 2nd. I like the energy Blatche brings off the bench. Let's do this.

Where is Nick Young...He's not going to play at all tonight, he barely played last night. Mason isn't playing well enough to be just taking Nick's minutes outright. Eddie can do this sometimes, but I've really got to question the decision to signifigcantly decrease Young's minutes like this out of the blue. We really need this kid to develop and keeping him on the bench for no reason is just stunting his growth.

Yes, and I hope EDDIE puts Arenas at SHOOTING GUARD when he returns instead of making him be the scorer and passer at the same time. We'd be a force. That and if Haywood continues his strong season.

Milestone game for this team. First win in Miami in 9 tries. Without Gilbert, we beat Wade and Shaq. Caron was amazing, Haywood is a beast, Andray had flashes of the future vs. A-list big men. I was impressed with the D and the rebounding. All-around great job.
My MVPs tonight go to D-Steez and Brenda. AJ gets honorable mention for being an inspirational floor leader.

Great win! As soon as I turned off my laptop we went on a 14-0 run after that sloppy beginning to the second half. I'm never typing while watching the game again, haha. Anyway, I like how we never folded, anytime they made a run we responded. Haywood is a rebounding beast. Butler took over when he needed to, and Stevenson shot the lights out. If we could just execute 80-100% we would've won that game by 20+. But hey cats are allowed to have off nights(Mason in particular). Good win, let's keep it going.

Great win. Got the monkey off the Wizards' back for now. Props to Stevenson especially for stepping up big time and hitting some tough shots. Caron and Antawn really turned it up in the 2nd half, especially Caron in the 3rd quarter. Great job by Haywood tonight. He seemed to get great position under the basket and really gave Miami fits in the rebounding department.

Nah, SkinFan is a stand up dude, and I agree with him on the Magic.
Those that don't know, Rashard Lewis is an alstar for about 20-30 games a year. Except for that one great year they had in Seattle.
Either way, Shaq's still a fag.

Wow, our first win in Miami since God got that chick pregnant ;).
A note to the Wiz faithful: while I have not watched enough of our games to give a quality assessment of the team, all this talk of the Wiz playing more team basketball is the biggest load of... feces I have ever heard. 3/4 of the this game we ran the mythical "Princeton offense"; shoot an outside trey with 20 seconds left on the shot clock after three passes, little penetration, and rely on individual talent to carry us through. Basically the injuries have forced EJ to play our good guys rather than some radical new style of play. If AD was dropping 10 dimes a game or dishing out sweet alley-oops to Brendan and Bulletproof, then I would agree that we are a new team with AD at the point. Basically all I see is better team defense, no offensive system, and our players just stepping it up. I think the best thing that could have happened to this team is Etan not playing, our bench guys getting more PT, and the fact that Caron worked his ass off over the summer. Maybe AD playing better D might have given us the boost we need or something, but until I see our players making the extra pass, drawing double teams and kicking it out to the open man, and not relying on players to beat their opponents one on one, I am chalking our wins to luck and Brendan getting more burn more so than "New visionary offense without Gibby screwing it up".
PS, don't say "fa@" that stuff ain't cool.

December-14th-2007, 01:46 PM
I kind of agree. From what Im seeing I dont see any wild new offense either. I do see more ball movement, but I agree we are getting better play inside and thats making a big difference. The rebounding seems to be overall a hell of a lot better although I havent looked at the stats to verify that, just eyeballing these games it seems we are getting more offensive boards and our time of possession is higher.
