So last week we got covered by an inch of ice and it's stuck around. A real pain in the ass to walk the dog in-zero traction. So I take her out to the track and on the way back, she slips and falls. I got her up after 20 scary minutes, thinking her hip is out. A fat old dogs weakness. We slowly begin walking back and boom, I'm down, thinking I just rebroke my ankle. As i'm laying there in pain, I hear something in the wods, about twenty feet away, growling and snorting like my dog, but bigger. I can see trees moving and things breakings. My girlish screams from my fall must have wokin up the bear we had been hearing was around. I quickly stood up and saw it, then turned and ran my crippled ass inside before my dog went at it. What a scary morning.

Wait a minute here.

You actually outran a bear, with an injured ankle, AND an injured dog in your arms ???

Do you know how fast they are ?

I'm assuming he didn't charge. If he did, I don't think you'd be posting right now.
