I remember back to the draft last year. In the 2nd or 3rd round, I'm waiting for the Eagles selection with bated breath, and they say the Eagles selected Stewart Bradley, MLB, University of Nebraska.
Then they flash a picture of the guy on tv; it is a picture of the dorkiest looking white guy I ever seen in my entire life with a huge mop of hair. Right then and there, me and my buddy proclaim that he will be a bust.
Then comes training camp and I see the kid in pads. He is huge! And he can move! Wait, the Eagles cannot draft LBs; this is a hard and fast rule as true as death and taxes.
Needless to say, I was excited as hell to hear he was getting the start today against the Saints. Well, boys, Bradley did not disappoint. He did not disappoint.

He made two HUGE stops on a goalline stand when it was still a game. Grabbed an INT (when was the last time an Eagle LB made an INT). Finished with 6 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 INT.
Remember the name, remember the face. I feel great about going into next season with a LB corps of Gaither, Bradley, and GoCong. All young, all only going to get better.

I thought bradley played inside where gaither played? Can he play will? I am impressed with the eagles backers this year, and the giants too. I never though gocong would make the transition so quickly and i thought gaither would be too small to fill in for trotter. Spikes is nothing special though.

Although he played some ILB in college he mostly played SLB with a little DE mixed in. The big knock on him other than durability was covering so it is odd to see he had an INT in his first start.

Bradley reminds me of a lot of Rob Carpenter with more experience playing LB.

Well Gaither is not as great a middle linebacker as they hoped. I think he's much better on the outside.
Bradley will most likely be headed to the middle. Hopefully he will disappoint there as well.

Ah, I knew dock would come in here and try to lesson the obvious. dock is going to have to come up with new material when he can't simply keep on repeating the Eagles can't draft LBs. BTW, what do you think of GoCong since you went out of your way to derail every single Eagles defense thread by saying how much he was going to suck?

Actually, GoCong hasn't sucked. He's been passable.
But when "passable" is an upgrade in your LB corps, you have a problem. Yes, he's been average.

The NFL needs more tough white, goofy looking, hard nosed Linebackers like Bradley and Hillenmeyer

Well, considering that he is a converted DE playing LB for the first time in his life, the fact you can't slam him down like you desperately want to is enough for me. He started on a unit that was very stout against the run this year.
I see nothing but great things for the Eagles defense in the future. The LBs finally look like they are young and skilled. DL is going to be great with Cole, Bunkley, and Patterson (another guy who played at a phenominal level who you slammed this preseason) all getting another year under their belts.

They are also notably weak in coverage which could bite the Eagles in arse. I will give you Patterson is having a good season but you are still pushing Bunkley?

I still AM slamming GoCong. He's an average player not worth your wb36 hype.

Patterson's play has been anything but dominant lately. He's played quite poorly the last few games, and JJ is taking him out of the rotation more ans more. didn't watch him today.
I see nothing but great things for the Eagles defense in the future.
I expect nothing less from you. Honestly, how can you block this D-line???!?!

Patterson and Bunkley are both playing great football still. Trent Cole has reached the point where he can single handedly take a game over.
I like the young LBs. Right now they're still mostly potential, but even that is more than we've had recently.

In other words, another big bust?
Hope for Eagles fans you're incorrect

Bunkley has played great this year. You just choose to disregard him; honestly, who is going to get the credit for the Eagles turning around their porous run defense into a dominant unit this year? The DL, the LBs.....seems like you guys want to look at all of them as liabilities when the numbers say otherwise.

I thought the same thing regarding Reed Doughty when we drafted him. I  when I saw his pic.
Can't judge a book by his cover. ;)

Bunkley has played great this year. You just choose to disregard him;I see him as playing okay( like the young LB's) and not yet living up to the mid first round expectations or WB36's billing.

Also when healthy your true team leader Dawk, of course. Patterson and Cole have done well, Spikes got off to a late start but has improved and how about Mikell.:2cents:
Can we expect a shirtless picture of Bradley for the new sig?

I was hoping the Skins would trade down in the draft, and Bradley was one of the guys I wanted in later rounds. I think he's gonna be a player.

I love that one of the extra picks we got in the Dallas trade, which was widely criticized by EVERYONE was ol Stew Bradley. He is a ****ing madman!
