The Giants played very well against NE. The one thing they couldn't afford is injury. While NE came out possibly unscathed, the Giants had four injured.

EDIT- I missed Tom's thread which covered this topic

The question is, how serious are these injuries.

The Giants can apparently do without Mitchell as Wilkinson came in and played out of his mind.

O'Hara would be a big loss.

Madison would be a big loss because Webster hasn't developed the way he should have.

Dahl isn't a big deal.

Reugemer played better than ohara last night. Wilkinson was everywhere in place of mitchell. Once madison went down the patriots could pass better. Madison is a big deal if he is out, the rest are not. The giants ran and protected better without ohara, and wilkinson showed the speed that got him drafted. I never want to see Craig Dahl ever play for the giants again, I hope he is out sunday. Gibril, Butler and Johnson can all play well enough and mcquarters can fill in just as bad as dahl did.

Dude, Wookfolk was kicking Reugemer's butt. O'Hara is a better center. He would be missed. Plus, the continuity.

I have yet to see the extent of any of these injuries. Yes Madison would be the biggest loss but whenever you are going into the playoffs, any player loss or playing hurt sucks.

Tom this is what you continued to worry about. It is a bummer because they played NE very well.

Dude, wilfork was eating ohara alive too, that is what a 350 pound 1st round nose tackle does. The oline played better with reugemer in. The weak link in the giants oline goes like this: 1. ohara, 2. seubert, 3. diehl. Ohara is average, makes good calls, and doesn't screw up the snap. Reugemer played just as well imo and when he was in the run game got going.

It seems like Coughlin's been on the hotseat since day 1. This certainly won't help.

All four of the players mentioned are not studs but have for the most part gotten their job done this year.

I know Dahl is done and Madison is iffy after restraining the abdomin. Has any one heard the results of Ohara and/or Mitchells MRI's?

When you are talking about the dreaded strained knee, it seems you have a 50% chance it is a minor strain.

Wolfork kicks everyone's butt.

But IMO, Madison would be the biggest loss by far. Reugemer is more than adequate enough to step in and do a solid job.

Madison, while not perfect, is our best cover corner, and his experience is desperately needed in a playoff game. Especially against Galloway. And if Corey Webster replaces Madison, we are a much less physical defense.

Ohara is like most centers: smaller and quick. He excels against one gap types and smaller DTs and gets destroyed by any huge DT. When I said the weak link I meant it more that Ohara is the least talented giants olinemen. The right side of the giants oline is dominant, diehl is the versatile guy who plays well anywhere and seubert is an effort guy who is still blocking when the runner is 30 yards downfield. Its not that ohara sucks its that he is average and gets no push on short yardage. The giants inside power run game consists of Snee imo. Ohara is good in pass protection and solid in every aspect its just that he can't knock anyone off the ball hard and he gets pushed back into eli (not blown by though) easily by most bigger DTs. Reugemer played just as well and has filled in for ohara before, seubert has too and the results were good. Ohara is important because he has a great rapport with eli, not because he is irreplaceable. I am betting he plays and madison plays, though I bet both will be hampered. I could see mitchell sitting. I have heard no news however so this is just idle speculation.
