Coincidence? I don't believe so. This team responded exactly the way they should have to ST's death; they look focused, fired up, and ready to destroy anyone/thing in their path. Is it just me or was the tackling perfect tonight?

I don't think there's any better way to close out the regular season: a win against Dallas, by 21 points, to clench a playoff berth (even though the Saints and Vikes lost anyway), at home. Seriously, it doesn't get any better than that (for regular season, that is).
Seeing Gibbs wear the 21 hat after the game and talking about how players were crying in the locker room after the game had me in tears. Gibbs is such a class act, I'm so proud he's our coach. He's hands down the best person to bring our guys together and lead our team through this tumultuous season and the playoffs. Like JUMBO, I love Gibbs, ST, our players, this team, pretty much everything about the Redskins. This is going to be a great week! :D

I still remember when Gibbs made that emotional mistake against the Bills as we went to 5-7. Some Redskins fans expected us to fold under the emotion of losing our brother and prepare for 08'. Not I.
They said many times throughout the different sports shows that if anyone could get us through, Joe Gibbs could pull us together for a final push. I gotta tell you guys, I love my Redskins team more then ever before. I loved watching us win 5 in a row back in 05' and was super excited watching Portis carry us to the second round, but this year means so much more to me.
My wife called me as I was sound asleep and uttered those words, "he died this morning." Im not embarrassed to say it, I cried that entire day as they showed the stories and highlights of our fallen soldier. Some of us(me included) doubted that Portis and Moss were healthy enough to use that "U love" to carry us, but I was wrong back then. CP and Moss showed us all why we traded Coles and Bailey back then and they will forever be true Redskins.
Winning by 21 points against the hated Cowboys just cleared it up for me. I think we can do this guys. I think Sean's here with those guys and they know it. Seattle has their version of a 12th man, but something tells me our version carries a bit more weight then some screaming fans.
I hadn't cried for a few weeks now, but I cried one last time tonite as I pointed to the sky saying, "we'll do it for you Sean, because we know you'd do it for us." "That 21 points was for you brother."

And a team with a great line and stud running backs. 1 yard?!? That's nuts. And don't tell me the result would have been different if the pukes had something to play for cause I watched the game. Closure.
You think God grants us our wishes in heaven? Do you think he allowed ST to be at the game because that's where Sean wanted to be? Perhaps winning by 21 was God's way of saying, "Hey Redskins, it's ok, I just want you to know that he's here with you and enjoying every moment."
At the end of the game, I envision God's arm around a joyous ST as he leads him away from the stadium.
Closure.

``I was on the sideline and guys were talking about the score, and then it hit me - we won by 21,'' veteran left tackle Chris Samuels said. ``I came in the locker room and I yelled it out, and immediately I just kind of broke down in tears. Because I miss Sean, you know.''
``Play for the guy who's on your jersey - the guy who's not here, who should be here,'' Cartwright said he told his teammates. ``We know how he played the game. That's why I think guys came out and played so hard.''
Former Redskins great Dexter Manley revived memories of the old days by taking the microphone and leading cheers of ``We want Dallas!'' from the field before kickoff. Coincidentally, those were the very words written by Taylor on an autographed photo discovered on the Internet by defensive end Phillips Daniels' wife, a photo Daniels shared with his teammates Saturday.
``To win by 21 on this day, to get into the playoffs,'' Daniels said. ``Oh, man, that's a great feeling.''

It was great ... but it's not ironic.
I'll let George Carling explain:
Irony deals with opposites; it has nothing to do with coincidence. If two baseball players from the same hometown, on different teams, receive the same uniform number, it is not ironic. It is a coincidence. If Barry Bonds attains lifetime statistics identical to his father’s it will not be ironic. It will be a coincidence. Irony is "a state of affairs that is the reverse of what was to be expected; a result opposite to and in mockery of the appropriate result." For instance:
* If a diabetic, on his way to buy insulin, is killed by a runaway truck, he is the victim of an accident. If the truck was delivering sugar, he is the victim of an oddly poetic coincidence. But if the truck was delivering insulin, ah! Then he is the victim of an irony.
* If a Kurd, after surviving bloody battle with Saddam Hussein’s army and a long, difficult escape through the mountains, is crushed and killed by a parachute drop of humanitarian aid, that, my friend, is irony writ large.
* Darryl Stingley, the pro football player, was paralyzed after a brutal hit by Jack Tatum. Now Darryl Stingley’s son plays football, and if the son should become paralyzed while playing, it will not be ironic. It will be coincidental. If Darryl Stingley’s son paralyzes someone else, that will be closer to ironic. If he paralyzes Jack Tatum’s son that will be precisely ironic.
