That is a good point man but you have to admit that some announcers are easier to listen to than others. In my opinion Collinsworth ranks near the bottom, right above "moose" and Gumble :helmet:

I want Collinsworth to issue an apology for his comment on the NBC studio show a few weeks ago that, "they (the Skins) won't win four in a row" and then he smirked and laughed as if it were the most absurd thing he had ever heard. Don't ever count this team out in December Chris, I think Sean Salisbury could tell you that.

I actually lost braincells just reading his name in the title.

Gumble and Collinsworth are clowns. Collingsworth is just pissy because he is the only past player/commentator that doesn't have a ring or own a record. He was worthless as a receiver and now as a commentator. Hopefully the NFL Network will find talent next year to call the games.

It will be Tom Hammond on NBC doing the play by play with Collingsworth. Hammond is a pretty good announcer and does the Notre Dame games on NBC.

I agree with the majority of the people in here.
Collinsworth is fine, but Gumball makes me mad!

Amen. At least when Collinsworth was with Aikman and Buck, they could cover for his shortcomings. Now he is actually the better of the two on his announcing team.(Although not by much) Pretty sad :helmet:

Came in to say just this _ I was really surprised at that - I wondered where the hate was coming from off a tough win in the wake of ST's death. I am an overly sensitive fan - first to cop to it - but that little scene seemed SO outrageous and over the top to me.
Actually tho I think it was after the Bears win and someone said If the skins win three in a row they could be in it and then he says they (the Skins) won't win three in a row and then he smirked and laughed as if it were the most absurd thing he had ever heard.

Obviously we are in complete agreement, and thanks for the correction....I went ballastic when I heard it, so I he may have said three instead of four. I was thinking four in that he was counting the Bears game that had just ended, but maybe it was three. Regardless, it was a completely unprofessional way to handle that situation, and made Collinsworth look like a complete A-clown.

Collins just said, "I'm looking forward to seeing Todd Collins play next week....and that the Skins are hot." No Chris, you owe us all an apologize, what a snake and jerk.

Oh for the love of God I hope he is Gumbelless. I can't stand another game listening to him saying that someone APPEARS to get the first down. Or SEEM to do something. Or take the field again for the first time. UGH.

You could tell me a trio of Emmit Smith, Darryl Johnston, and Deion Sanders are doing the game and I would still be smiling.

At least Collinsworth will say something that doesn't fit into 99% of the sports media's talking points. Aikman is becoming very predictable, and in his own way, speaks in a near monotone or too consistent of a voice. Buck and Aikman have become the cure for my insomnia. They get duller by the week.
At least Madden can be fun sometimes.

I don't mind Collinsworth so much myself. He and Gumbell as a team are crummy because of Bryant, but Chris is not all that bad.

Collinsworth is one of the best color commentators in the game. He's just stuck with the single least energetic play-by-play announcer. If Collinsworth were with someone like Joe Buck or Kenny Albert, he'd be great. But instead he's with Gumbel, and those two combined can put a man to sleep.
Collinsworth has some of the best insight in the business, and he points out some of the less obvious stuff. I like Aikman, but he has a tendency to stick on the same things in every game.

I sure hope he focuses on calling the game and doesn't go off on one of his Brady tangents. We all know that CC has a giant man crush on TB.

I noticed that both saturday games are on NBC, and I'm assuming Madden/Michaels will do the primetime Steeler/Jaguars matchup. So, does anybody have any idea who NBC's seconds team is?
I think they should just have Frank Caliendo do they game as John Madden and Charles Barkley.

Tom Hammond and Cris Collinsworth ... Hammond is a good PxP announcer. If they would replace Bumbel with Hammond for NFL-N telecasts next season, those games would me much more watchable.
cheers
