Brunell in the last 4 games of 2005

46/84 - 54.7% - 538 yards - 7 TD - 5 INT

Collins in the last 4 games this season

67/105 - 63.8% - 888 yards - 6 TD - 0 INT:applause:

The 0 INTs is the key stat there.

Supporting cast is key as well. By the time the playoffs rolled around Moss was the only receiving threat we had, with Thrash pretty much the #2. Now we have ARE, McCardell, Caldwell........I feel much better with our O going into Seattle.

Still sorry we didn't trade MB to Atlanta for line. Now we'll get nothing.

Brunnell was our problem in 05. If it werent for him we would have beaten Seattle then like we will this year!...

Collins only has 5 TD's but w/e. yeah i think it is Collins.

We rode Portis for the 5 game win streak in 05. this year it's been a mixture of both Portis and Collins.

This isnt even a fair competition. Brunell was tanking at the end of 05, and we were just trying to hold onto what passing game we could. Collins is taking off right now.

There is no comparison with Collins 07 and Brunell 05. If we had Collins in 05 with Saunders, we would have made a deep push into the playoffs and possibly gone to the Super Bowl vs. the Steelers.

Collins isn't hurting the way Brunell was in 05. TC isn't limited and he's allowed to utilize more of the playbook. This isn't even close.

I think if this was 2 years ago, with the team we have now(everything from playbook/scheme to, of course, the WRs we have now) , we could have won the playoff game with Brunell. Keep in mind that Brunell was tossin' to Taylor Jacobs and Jimmy Farris that year.

Having said that, I like our shot at Seattle with this crew.
I'll have to say Collins for the poll, mostly because of the supporting cast. I feel like this 9-7 team is better than the 10-6 team.

Collins isn't afraid to throw the ball up the field. Brunnel couldn't for some reason.

Collins.

However, this year everyone else seems to be getting healthy at the right time. Portis is picking up steam rather than breaking down. The Oline has had more time to adjust to the losses. Our final game of the season was a home game this year instead of a road game (significant if you consider the #6 seed has to play three straight road games.)

I think we are in better overall shape heading into the playoffs this time around. But Collins is playing a lot better too.

Who...****ing...Cares!

Instead of basking in another late season run that puts our team into the playoffs, it's more fun for some to try and retroactively blame Mark Brunell for not winning in Seattle two years ago.

Brunell was playing hurt. So were Samuels, Jansen, Rabach and 97 year old Ray Brown, I think. Oh, you forgot Randy Thomas was gone, right. And one wide receiver.

Todd Collins knowing the offense, at that time, meant he was the only one who did. Brunell, was the best, and only choice we had then. Much more experience. No brainer.

While some contend that ANY other QB besides Mark would have done better, I contend that they have no earthly idea what they're talking about. And, that with a healthier O-line, we would've beaten the Tucan Sams, injured QB and extremely limited WR's be damned.

That said, this TEAM is in much better overall shape going into Seattle, than the 05 team was. Our depth, this time around, will hopefully make the difference.

You forgot that Clinton Portis was banged up as well in 05, and our #2 receiving option was actually Chris Cooley.

If you you think about it, our line is banged up this year too. Everyone on our line was injured at one point in this season, some worst than others (Randy Thomas, Jon Jansen). The only difference with this team Joe Gibbs was smart enough to get some depth at o-line and WR core, and Al Saunders offense doesn't hurt either.

Thanks, I'd forgotten Clinton was a little more banged up than the late season bumps and bruises.

For sure, our Oline has suffered this year as well, but the remaining starters familiarity with the scheme now, as well as the backups, means they are in much better shape this go round. But wouldn't a healthy Randy Thomas be great?

Oh well.

Jason Fabini...he's our man...if he cain't do it...the next guy can!
Stephon Heyer...he's our man...if he cain't do it...the next guy can!
Fill in the blank...he's our man...if he cain't do it...well, you get the picture. :D
