Wizards guard Roger Mason Jr. emerged from the locker room after practice yesterday and proudly showed off a burgundy-and-gold Redskins jersey with his name and number (8) on the back.
"I just texted Clinton [Portis] to tell him congratulations," said Mason, a Washington native who attended Redskins games with his father as a child. "They're rolling right, and after everything they've been through, it's great to watch."
Coach Eddie Jordan, also a Washington native, praised Joe Gibbs and the Redskins' coaching staff. "My hat goes off to them," Jordan said. "I'm proud of them."
