Seattle has an impressive 45 sacks this year. In 2 games against the Rams (offensive rank 24th) they had 11 sacks. In 2 games against the 49ers (offensive rank 32nd) they had 9 sacks, and in 1 game against the Bears (offensive rank 27th) they had 5 sacks. The total for these 5 games is 25.
In the remaining 11 games they had 20 sacks.

5 games averaging 5 sacks per game.
11 games averaging 2 sacks per game (1.8 rounded up).

Sacks are not the sole indicator of pressure applied to the QB so this is an incomplete picture.

Discuss among yourselves.

Hmm...not sure if it's meaningless or not. Definitely interesting lol...

Another stat that I do NOT consider meaningless: Gibbs has never lost a wildcard game.

all I get from this: Seattle has a good pass rush. So do the Gnats, Cowboys...

on nfl total access, rod said that our offensive line wasn't ready to face the kind of pressure that seattle would bring. i felt like saying, "ummm, rod... we've already faced the giants who lead the league in sacks."

I am proud of the way our O-line has patched itself together in the last 4-5 weeks. We have already had lopsided battles at the line of scrimmage as people above have mentioned. We can get it done again with a good game plan.

i see it as saying they get a lot of sacks against teams that dont have a good qb and have spotty o-line play.

i see us as being in the 11 game, 1.8 sack bracket instead of the 5 game, 5 sack one.

Heyer worries me a bit on the right side. He'll have his hands full. Hopefully he'll get some help.

An undrafted rookie going against a pro bowler in the loudest stadium in football... I know Heyer has played well, but this might be asking too much from him. I think it will be the most important matchup of the game for us while we're on offense.

You know I thought the same thing exactly two and three weeks ago against the Giants and Minnesota D. But, to my pleasant surprise he seems to hold his own!!! Let's hope that continues this week.
