View Full Version : Congrats on the good season!

Look, no matter what happens, you guys had a heckuva run. Very similar to the 2005 season, IMO, closing out with a string of wins to make the playoffs. And that was quite an impressive game against Dallas, holding them to 36 inches on the ground. It doesn't matter what players they played or didn't play, that's an impressive stat.

To those of you who have contempt for our stadium, our fans, and our 12th Man tradition... what can I say? We didn't invent the 12th Man, but we never claimed to. It is nevertheless our tradition and we're proud of it, just as you are proud of all things Redskin. The crowd will be loud tomorrow, and may surprise some of you.

To those of you who disregard our record or stats because of our weak schedule... it isn't our fault that some teams that were supposed to be good fell apart this season. Yes, we play in a weak division -- tied with the AFCW for overall weakest, and 3rd weakest (behind AFCE and NFCS) when disregarding division leaders' records for opposition strength comparison purposes. But our record is what it is, and we did what we needed to do to get to where we are in the playoffs, just as you did. Once the players hit the field, then stats, SOS, records, everything gets tossed out the window. And although I believe anything can happen tomorrow, I don't believe it will be a cakewalk for either team.

To those of you who are well past your teenage years but are still stuck in teenage humor, I'm hoping for perhaps some better football conversations next time around.

Here's to a game with good officiating, no injuries, and a lot of hard hitting!

Congrats to you too. It is going to be a good game that I truly believe will come down to either Josh Brown or Suisham. As far as the 'teenager humor' comment I'd love to refute it, but even in the thread where someone asks what the 'Hawks game plan will be people just can't resist the one-liners. It's getting pretty old IMO and doesn't promote a good football discussion. Hell, I've been guilty of it as well. All I can do is apologize.

I guess you probably have your share of those people too, so hopefully you won't paint all 'Skins fans with the same brush. Anyway, here's to a great game with no injuries.

Hey blitz, no problem! I don't paint with a broad brush at all. I know I don't like it when Seahawk fans are idiots and I get painted with their brush, so I don't do it. And for the record, I'd say the majority of Skins fans here reasonable, decent, intelligent people.

I'm sorry if the sentence about teenage humor became the focal point of that post, that was not my intent.

Take care, BT. Tomorrow, it is my #1 hope that we have left a lot of upset Seahawk fans to deal with their loss. My #2 wish will be that you and any other decent fans out there get over it soon enough. ;) :)

BT, You have always brought good conversation to this board. Although a bit biased , but what can a Skins fan expect from a "Hawks" fan?

Nevermind the flamers.

I can't say that I wish you good luck because I would be lying.

I will say this... no matter the outcome tomorrow, a happy and healthy new year to you and your family. :)

I'd say "photoshop", but I use a crummy photo edit program that's about 7 generations old!

Both teams played the hands they were dealt to make the playoffs.

Let the games begin.

Thanks BT,
I agree that we're making a similar run to 05, but this team is so much more talented in a lot of areas (maybe not so much in other areas, who knows :whoknows: )
As far as the "weak schedule", I think it comes in to play here in a major way. Had Seattle put up impressive numbers against those opponents, which I believe that they haven't, then we'd be talking a little different ball game here. I just think that Seattle is going to be surprised at how good the Skins really are. So many people are thinking that Collins is all of a sudden going to make mistakes and that Portis will forget how to get those couple of extra yards with every carry. Plus, no one is really talking about Fletcher and his ability to quarterback the defense. Landry plays 25 yards off of the line of scrimmage and GW will not allow him to give up huge plays. It's going to be rainy and wet, and I believe that it will come down to a trench fight. Against a physical team like Washington, I don't think the Hawks can win a physical battle up front.

Lastly, I know that everyone outside of Washington is sort of rolling their eyes at this "we're playing for Sean" thing, but I believe it's genuine love and respect for a fallen teammate. I don't think it's about winning for these guys as much as it is about playing as hard as #21 would have. Maybe that sounds naive or like a fluke, but it's true and Seattle won't play harder than these guys. Seattle may come out on top, but they won't play harder, smarter, and faster than the Skins.

Just my take, and I'm certainly pulling for them b/c of all the things that they've been through. I'll be proud win or lose. Good luck, and here's to a good game and healthy players in the end

BT, there are some very decent, respectable and intelligent football fans around that dont follow the skins, you are one of those people, I enjoy reading your thoughts as they make sence and are well balanced, thanks for being a good human being whose only wish is to see a great game of football.

Unlike 2005 the Skins actually have a balanced offense right now.

Best of luck;).

It'll be a challenge to overcome that stout defense that limited the prolific Falcons offense to just 44 points, but we'll give it our best shot. ;)

Just kidding, BT. You're good people, and I always enjoy your posts when we're playing you guys.

Qwest is a tough place to play, but we've got a tough and tested team. Should be a heck of a battle. Here's to a clean, hard-hitting, well-officiated game with no injuries.

Until we meet again. (Next year, right?)

Thanks for staying classy BT!!! :applause:

PS - It's a shame that other Seahags Fans (way too many!!) had to take the low road leading up to this game....

The only similarities to '05 is the stretch run. This offense is in it's "groove" and the players are familiar and confident in it and that spells trouble for the Seahawks. I think that's why you guys are really nervous, especially your emasculated sportswriters ,who don't have a clue about what's about to hit your Seahawks.

Make light of the Taylor death all you want you idiot fans, (I read those horrendous posts) but this team OWES themselves this game and will not be denied.

We play in the NFC EAST, and we split with the 'Boys, Birds, and the Giants and we had the 2nd toughest schedule in the league. We are battle tested...on the other hand playing in the nfc west is like getting 6 bye weeks added to your schedule.

Keep your classless fans off of these message boards because you are the only one that has been classy and honest. I hope that the pain after this loss for the Seahawks doesn't bother you too much, but I hope like hell it RUINS the year for the rest of those moronic POS people that you call a fan base.

I don't think I've ever come to hate a fanbase as quickly or as deeply as the Seattle one. Moronic writers looking to slam a football team for its mascot or the death of a teammate, and fans that on their own boards and here that have proven to be arrogant and classless above and beyond normal trolls...

That said. The Seattle team is one I have no real issues with-they should play hard and it should be a good game.

But aside from yourself BT and a few others...I can honestly say- **** the Seattle press and most of their fans, I hope it is a very dark Saturday for them.
