Allen will become a HOFer. I don't see Sapp making it and Young might have a shot.

ALLEN EXPECTED TO RETIRE

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that 49ers guard Larry Allen, an 11-time Pro Bowler, is expected to retire.

Allen spent 14 seasons in the NFL. As Schefter points out, Allen will be eligible for the Hall of Fame in the same year in which defensive tackles Warren Sapp and Bryant Young will be up for induction for the first time.

Schefter suggests that Allen could sign a ceremonial contract with the Cowboys, where he played through the 2005 season.

The Hall is waiting for you, Larry!

First-ballot HOFer in five years. It will be interesting to hear his speech. He rarely talked to the press as a player.
