Pete I know the bike. :( I park mine right next to it 3 times a week if I don't leave it there for weeks on end. This breaks my heart cuz I work ten feet away. :( BTW, I've always heard that asylum has cameras on our parking. It doesn't make sense that this bike was stolen because its nothing that stands out amongst the other "regulars" that park there. :(
BTW, side note about 4 months ago a cab driver ran over my bike in that very location -- if anyone saw this lemme know. It's a grey BMW F650.
Well that sucks. Seems you can't win with that BMW :( Was it totaled, or just knocked around a bit ?
As for the Sprint. I guess not standing out makes it a good target. Easier to spot a flashier bike. Realistically, him ever getting the bike back is slim IMO

Pete, he did report the bike missing with the police didn't he? some people don't. It could've been taken for outstanding parking tickets. It happened to me

Pete - does this guy have a pic? Forwarded it to my friend who rides, and he said it will most likely be sold for parts. Your friend should keep an eye on ebay and craigslist and see if anything from his bike turns up on there.

Need details. Was the thief caught riding it or were they caught stripping it?

Excellent news!
On a side note - Chocolate, I'm riding a black 650GS
Saw the 800GS at the cycle show last weekend. Must have it!
Pete - was also interested in the Tiger, but Triumph didn't have any manufacturing reps :(

Dump the yuppy dual sport and get a super motard. You're probably not going offroad with that beast anyway. You'll have 10 times as much fun on the street and you can still do some mild off road riding. CCM got into the class this year and I expect this to be a great bike. I just sold my Husqvarna TC610 64bhp/234lbs. a torque monster just not enough top end for me :D

The Tiger is slicker then snot on a door nob, and it will out do every bike in it's (touring endouro) class on the pavement. It took top honore on Motorrad mag this year, knocking the R1200GS off the top of the hill.
Triumph isn't into the trade shows, and leave it up to local dealers to do them if they choose. The Tiger will more then likely be my next new bike, though the next big thing Triumph is working on is a duel sport based around the 675 engine. They won't admit to it, but that's the inside info I got. Even if they bring it down to 100 HP, that's still off the wall for a small duel sport.
Triumph triples rock. The torque doesn't level off like inline 4's or most twins. It just keeps climbing with the HP. Makes the bikes amazingly streetable. They don't have to live in the high revs to give ya a thrill. The 1050 is sick, and not for the faint of heart. I would suggest finding out when the nearest dealer is having a demo day. Right now, Triumph has the lowest rate of waranty claims out of any manufacturer sold in the USA.
The F800 are nice bikes, but honestly are an entry level bike geared towards chicks. For the money, there's more out there if your looking to upgrade from the F650. I actually did the first lowering of an F800 in the US. They came out with the lower virsion a few weeks later, but the owners wife just had to have the bike right away.

Well, get off your ass, ride down here, and I'll put you on a Ducati Hyper Motard. We have one as a demo bike. I tell them your a good friend looking to buy, and you'll get to spend a little time on a sick little bike. While your not gonna do any off road stuff with the Hyper, it's such a fun bike to ride with quite a bit more HP then the 610. ;)
OH, did I happen to mention............ We're a Duc dealer now :D Yup, we have all the bases covered with Triumph, BMW, Ducati, and MV Agusta.
i will never get on a bike called a "super motard"
lol... pete just knocked it around some and popped out a side panel.
cab drivers in dc are asses...
Cabbies suck everywhere  Glad she didn't get too screwed up.
We've had two 08 Bonnies come through the shop that caught my eye. The T-100 was bergundy and silver with the gold stripe, and the standard is completely bergundy. Very Redskinesq......... So is the Rocket that's bergundy and white.

Wish I lived closer - I'd come by everyday just to stare
I'll definitely hit the demo days once the warmer temps move in!

Hey Pete, have you guys gotten in any of the new Rocket Tours? Despite family peer pressure to get a Venture/Royal Star when I get a new bike, I still cannot escape the pull of the Rocket.
I am having to put off a new bike for another year (school expenses doubled), so stuck annoying Mr. Motorcyle here in El Paso by drooling all over the RIII Classics they have in stock :)
