So the Cowboys didn't really waste much time in hiring their new OL coach. Hudson Houck (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hudson_Houck) is pretty highly regarded around the league and offensive lines have had large amount of success where he's gone, including when he was in Dallas. :notworthy

Haha, Jerry was pissed at Parcells for taking his coaches so he took one of the Dolphins coaches.

That Dolphins OL was pretty stout last year. They swept the season series with the Ravens.

Except for that whole Miami Dolphins thing.......1-15, not exactly sucess, that o-line was terrible. Bottom line, you can have the best coach, but if you don't have the moe's and the joe's you own't do well. Lucky for you, the pukes have a pretty good line.

Ronnie Brown was averaging 5.1 yards a carry and was leading the NFL in rushing when he got hurt. The OLine was doing their part

Not exactly. Houck wasn't going to be retained by Parcells. He was out with the Cam Cameron crew.

HAHAHAHAHA I think he will be to busy to coach the O line, I think Jerrah will be spending alot of time with T.O.'s Bipolar Disorder, or babysitting Homo when the players have off time.:2cents: :dallasuck

Including giving up 43 sacks, 23rd in the league.

While that is very true I do think that it comes back to personnel, and no matter how you look at it, Dallas has much more skill at the O-line position than Miami did.

From 02-04 San Diego's O was 16th 14th and 10th with Houck as the OL coach. pretty good, I would say he is probably a down grade from Sparano though.

Per Wiki..

With the San Diego Chargers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Diego_Chargers) from 2002 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_NFL_season) to 2004 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_NFL_season), Houck transformed one of the league's worst offensive lines to one of the best. Running back (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Running_back) LaDainian Tomlinson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LaDainian_Tomlinson) rushed for more than 1,300 yards in each of Houck's three seasons with the team. With five new starters on the line in 2004, the Chargers ranked 10th in total offense and sixth in rushing. The Chargers allowed fewer than 25 sacks per season under Houck

That they do, but Sparano was more then just the o-line coach, unless I am mistaken...

Yep, losing Sparano is a blow to the team. Picking up Houck is pretty much making the best of a bad situation. He doesn't necessarily have to improve it, but if he can keep it from regressing that would be pretty good in and of itself.

Wasn't Sparano more of a mentor to Garrett?

Houck was our o-line coach during the 90s... he coached the likes of Larry Allen and Erik Williams and he has a lot of good will stored up in Dallas and is a welcome addition.

This hiring comes at no surprise, it has been rumored for a week.

This is a significant downgrade from Sparano.

Parcells definitly thinks so. But hey what does Parcells know? Oh thats right he built the Cowgals team. He knew just about every coach and player on that team. He didn't want Garrett he wanted Sparano. He gave the axe to the boys new O line coach.:2cents:
