Georgia Frontiere, owner of the St. Louis Rams, passed away Friday. She had been hospitalized for several months with breast cancer.
Who gets the team?

My earliest Super Bowl memory is watching what I now believe was the pregame show to Super Bowl 14 and they had Georgia Frontiere on set as a guest. Not sure why I remember this because I don't remember any detail from the interview and yet whenever her name came up in the years since, that is what I remember.
RIP

As if one would expect class from TMZ....what losers.
On my way home, it was reported that she was in grave condition. May she rest in peace.

Hate to say it but...
Ding Dong the Witch is dead.
Edit: I feel for her family and my condolences are with them.'
However, this woman was pure evil and greed in my book. Think along the lines of how Cleveland Browns fans feel about Modell.

Any one remember how the majority owners death adversely affected the Redskins.
I know they decided on Linehan staying and some of his asst being fired. These moves were probably already in the works.
It leads me to wonder if there will be infighting for majority ownership and how it will affect the Rams when spending (FA and player resigns) and other team decisions.

If you aren't from SoCal you wouldn't understand. It isn't about sports over life...it is about the fact that she was a bad person. A mean spiteful human being. I feel for her family, but she was a witch...
...and yes, I truly believe she had something to do with her husbands death.

This hits on the ownership issue I brought up yesterday:
RAMS' OWNERSHIP PLAN HAS SOME OPEN QUESTIONS
Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Dale "Chip" Rosenbloom is expected to take control of the Rams (http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/stories.nsf/rams/story/FE5DDD7FDFFD0DBD862573D5001DDA93?OpenDocument) following the death of his mother, Georgia Frontiere.
Rosenbloom, 43, is a filmmaker, and he lives in Los Angeles. He was a teenager when his father, Carroll, drowned in 1979, which resulted in Mrs. Frontiere becoming the owner of the team.
She owned 60 percent of the team. Per Thomas, that amount is supposed to be split evenly between Rosenbloom and his sister, Lucia Rodriguez. League rules, however, require at least one person to have the controlling share -- which likely means at least 50.000001 percent or more.
Thomas doesn't address how that will be accomplished, but we assume that Rosenbloom will have to buy out at least two-thirds of his sister's interest, plus a little bit more.
But what of the other 40 percent, owned by Stan Kroenke? If Rodriguez opts to sell all or part of her interest to Kroenke, he'd be the controlling owner.
Kroenke, however, would have to sell his interests in the NBA's Denver Nuggets and NHL's Colorado Avalanche, since NFL (http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm#) rules permit multiple ownership of professional sports teams only if none of them are in another NFL market.
Alternatively, Kroenke could try to engineer a change or an exception to the rule. Before Wayne Huizenga could buy the Dolphins in the 1990s, the league prohibited ownership of any other pro sports franchises. But Huizenga owned the NHL's Florida Panthers and baseball's Florida Marlins. (We can't recall how the issue specifically got resolved, but got resolved it eventually did.)
The problem is that, for now, there will be no majority owner of the Rams. We're not aware of any timetable for getting the situation resolved. But it likely will be one of the league's top business issues for the 2008 offseason.

It seems funny to me that Len Fatsabelly does an article about what a great woman she is yet he cant muster up the ability to mention good stuff about the Skins of Gibbs.
Wasnt Georgia a prostitute before she met the owner of the Rams? Thats a serious question because all of my friends from OC say she was. And the fact that she took the team away from the city just because she is from STL doesnt do her any good either in the long run.
RIP and I hope youre suffering is over...
