FBI took him into custody today apparently. I'm an Obama supporter but I think this will be the news that sinks his campaign. The Clintons will take this news and run with it and it's all we will hear about before Super Tuesday.

If they did that, and I were Obama, I would just mention the twenty or so scandals the Clintons have been involved with.
And we all know the Clintons pressured the FBI into making this arrest. Why else would the timing be so "impeccable"?

This realy doesn't seem to matter to anybody and it's not the only connection to corrupt land deal, connected to Obama. It's very similar to whitewater and nobody cares about that.
We can just back the largest **** shoveler and then wonder why our gov't is so corrupt.

You really think the Clintons have control over the FBI, seven years into the Bush Presidency?
Next thing you are going to tell me is that they made Dan Snyder fire Gregg Williams.

The Clintons do not want to get into a back and forth about questionable dealings...

Agreed, the smear machine just went into turbo mode.

I don't see that dog getting many birds.
If he's going to pull a "it's a policital conspiracy" defense, he'd get better traction claiming that this proves that the GOP wants Hillary to win.
(And I'm not saying I'd buy that one, either. Just that it's not as loony as trying to blame Clinton.)

The Clintons needed something today to counter Kennedy endorsing Obama.
The Kennedy endorsement hurts the Clintons big time.

Yeah but I am wondering if this quote will hurt him . . . from the article . . .
Obama, speaking Sunday to ABC's "This Week," described Rezko as "a friend of mine, a supporter, who I've known for 20 years."

So if he's dirty, it's ok because the other candidates are dirty too? WTf kind of logic is that?
God, this guy sucks. All he can do is piss and moan. Take a cue from Edwards and try using the high road, douchebag.
The_cavalierman

Actually it was smart of Obama to acknowledge a relationship with the guy and admit it was poor judgment to deal with him.
Now it is a dead issue....You're either going to hate him (because you did before this news) or you will realize that you've had friends you probably shouldn't have had in your life time as well.
(virtually) everyone has had a bad friend at some point in their lives that has embarrassed us in one way or another.
The bottom line for all of this is Obama did nothing illegal...so everything else will be spin from his opponents.

You are the only person I have ever seen who characterizes Obama as a "pisser and a moaner." You must be watching a different Obama than the rest of us.

LOL well of course I know that but it hasn't stopped them from already being hypocrites a number of times in the campaign so far.
Bill depended on the black vote when he won his elections and then this past weekend they make it seem like Obama only won due to the black vote and that it wasn't significant.
Bill running his mouth off about fairy tales being told by the Obama campaign when I seem to remember him having a 'fairy tale' address to the nation a decade or so ago.
My point being that it doesn't really matter to the Clintons as I believe they would like to make Obama have to fire shots back at Hilary and keep him off his message of changing the status quo.
I just fear that there are many Americans who would be swayed by this but I am hoping to be wrong.

Bill Clinton is just a despicable human being. He had some successes as president, I'll grant that, but he's just a bad guy.
I truly feel for any African American that can't see how horribly condescending he is. When he pulled that, "Well, Jesse Jackson won caucuses as well," I simply couldn't believe it. It's like he thinks a black man is a black man is a black man. Ain't no way in hell a republican gets away with that comment, but the Clintons are never held to account.
(BTW, what's slipprier than teflon and rhymes with Bill?)
To lump Barack Obama with Jesse Jackson is at the very best a gross and foolish mischaracterization. It is at worst, blatantly racist.

Also Obama pulled any donations/campaign contributions even remotely connected to Rezko and donated them all to charity.

It is at worst, blatantly racist.I don't know if I would go as far as to call Clinton a "bad guy" ... he is an over-confident guy who hasn't quite adjusted to not being the leader of the free world. I think he generally has good intentions, but he has made more than his share of mistakes without having to really pay for it.
I also wouldn't go as far as to call Clinton a racist, but the Jesse Jackson statement really rubbed me the wrong way. The MLK/LBJ comment from Hillary and the "fairy tale" comment from Bill were pretty innocuous in my mind, but equating Obama's win to Jesse Jackson's (when he himself had won South Carolina in '92) has undeniable racial overtones. It definitely crossed a line in my mind.
I hadn't given any money before in this primary race, but I made a big donation and went to an Obama fundraiser this evening before the State of the Union. I got to shake Obama's hand, which was pretty cool. :)

That's awesome Dj. Kudos for ponying up your hard-earned dollars for the cause. I have donated three smaller amounts, but it's better than nothing.
Do you think he has any shot on super Tuesday? I am more pessimistic since the polls don't seem to be shifting much.

Do you think he has any shot on super Tuesday? I am more pessimistic since the polls don't seem to be shifting much.At this point, I think most people who have been paying close attention have made up their minds. The polls won't really move until a few days before Tuesday, when the more casual voters make their decisions.
I think the debate on Thursday will be important (although it conflicts with the season premiere of Lost ... I'm not sure which one I'm going to TiVo). The Kennedy endorsements will help. It's probably going to end up being really close ... there's never been a Super Duper Tuesday like this before (and with nominations on both sides in doubt), so really anything could happen. It will certainly be fun to watch, and maybe our votes on Feb. 12 will really matter!

?? Like the Clinton's have that type of pull in the FBI which is under the Republican lead justice department, under the Republican Presidency.
Fact is Rezko doesn't hurt Obama. The link is Rezko was a long time Democratic power broker in Chicogo who game money to many campagnes. Including Bill's and Obama's.
There is no illegality aledged on Obama's account and he's since returned or given to charaty all the money's which Rezko gave him.

They have shown ties to the CIA, when it was under Rep control, is it that much of a long shot? (although I doubt it too)

I don't know the amounts of money given to each, but isn't that just something to do, to link the canidates together, so both hopefully look the other way.
There is no illegality aledged on Obama's account
Nor was there in Clintons "whitewater" dealings, despite 15 others being brought up on charges
and he's since returned or given to charaty all the money's which Rezko gave him. After the fact, convinent.
