Well, as great as the Bills were that year...I dunno if the Giants can pull that same thing off.
Then again...any given Sunday. If the Giants end up winning, I will definatly "LOL" in front of my T.V.

Win by one point? Have the Pats, known for winning last second FGs? miss that same kick?
Honestly, I'm confused.

You weren't even alive when that game took place. If you were, you would know that the reason the Bills only scored 19 points was because the Giants had the ball for more than 40 minutes.

Remember back then, mugging the receivers BEYOND those 5 yards WAS LEGAL. That's all the Giants pretty much did to the Buffalo receivers in the defensive backfield(as well as the Niners receivers the week before).
It's going to be a big difficult just to play press coverage itself on all those weapons.
With that being said-the Giants' OL/Hedgecock/RBs match up very well with the Pats' front 7. It'll be one heck of a game.:2cents:

Super Bowl XXV came on last night on the NFL network. I forgot they held the ball for 40 minutes. That's crazy.

No, it wasn't. It just wasn't stringently enforced, especially during the playoffs, when officials tend to swallow the whistle.
I'm pretty sure that the illegal contact rule has been around in some shape or form for about 30 years. It's probably been tweaked some over the years, but it's been on the books a long time.

Ooooh, so Gostkowski is gonna pull a Norwood?
That would be pretty funny.

Only Super Bowl I ever missed. The first one I watch from beginning to end was SB 12 Denver/Dallass. I had to work and my roomate was supposed to tape the game for me and my other roomate. We worked at a warehouse and had to work from 5 until 1 am. The stupid guy in the warehouse kept announcing the score, so not only did he ruin it for me, but when I got home, my roomate was too high and forgot to record the game. Sucked knowing the Giants won and sucked even more not seeing the actual game.

Has Gatowski (sp?) proved that he can make the clutch kicks like Vinnaterri (sp?) did?

The Giants don't have OJ Anderson this year.
Or Bill Parcells.
Or Jeff Hostetler

You wish.
When Jacobs can get one tough yard we'll revisit this.
We won't have to worry about that anytime soon.....

Sure.....In the meantime, I'm sure he's quite satisifed with the 5.2 YPC average. :)

And 4 TD's.
Jacobs is quite good at wearing a team down late in the game. I will not dispute that at all.
What he's not good at, is getting 2 yards when everyone in the building knows it's coming.
That's why they tried a sweep with him in the playoff game vs Dallas.
That's why Reuben Droughns(!) is the goal line back.
The same Droughns who's 5 inches shorter, and fifty pounds LIGHTER than Jacobs.
First and goal from the two, Anderson was getting a TD. You can't say the same for Jacobs.......

First off, Jacobs missed 4 games this year and the Giants are a pass happy team in the red zone.
Second of all, the reason why Droughns is the "Short yardage" back is because Jacobs is now the feature back. It has nothing to do with the fact that Droughns can do it better or vice versa.
It's just like last season, Jacobs was the short yardage back while Tiki was the Feature back.
I believe Jacobs led the league in 3rd and short conversions as well as scoring 8+ TD's last season? Not sure how you are getting the misconception Jacobs can't get a yard when he falls forward for 2-3 on 90% of his carries.

It's just plain silly to say Jacobs can't get a yard or 2 when needed. He's really powerful and fast for a big fella.

I'm actually a NY Giants fan. One of the moderators here awarded it to me a few years ago when I won a debate with him.
Since then, it comes and goes depending on what moderator reads my posts and if he thinks I'm being mean. (Just guessing.)

So they're slashing the Patriots team bus tires, giving them the wrong wakeup call at the hotel and have inserted a mole to drive them to Yuma instead of the stadium. Good strategy.
