That's exactly how Dan and Cerrato picture Zorn, as the gamble that will eventually pay dividends.

Why hire Fassel when Zorn had all the tools they were looking for without the baggage as HC. Even Fassel credited Zorn as being a heck of a coach and highly persuaded him to join him in D.C when he got there . But as the old saying goes "Don't bring your girlfriend" around the rich, handsome charming young man that can 'WOO' your girlfriend away from you.

And that's exactly what happen in fassel's case. Zorn wooed the hell out of Danny and Cerrato during the interview process and showed he was quite capable of doing the job without the X's already on his back from previous gigs. Not to mention in a few years Zorn was probably going to be a "Hot Commodity" just like Jason Garrett and a few others like the Giants DC. So why wait? Let's hire this super smart (as Gibbs would say) energetic, creative, well organized and well liked by all the coaches now before it's too late.

But is it a gamble? Sure. But what coach hire isn't a gamble and in Dan's case the high profile avenue with coaches isn't his strong point  . So why not take the chance in hiring a up and coming coach that's already seasoned but never got the opportunity to showcase his skills as HC. Again, every coach that was phoned gave Zorn great reviews including Fassel. And even Cerrato kept Zorn in his memory bank during his first begining and how detailed oriented and prepared Zorn always was at the combines.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm okay with this hire. Sure, he was never a HC but under that Holgrem tree all we have to do is whip out that classic picture that was recently posted here and see all the Head Coaches that broke off from it. Unfortunately, Zorn wasn't on it. But atleast he learned under Holgrem when Holgrem himself became even more seasoned after winning a SB in Green Bay and then moving on to Seattle.

So all I'm saying is this may be a gamble, but a gamble that Danny and Cerrato were willing to place all bet's on and hope it doesn't turn out like the six flag venture but just the opposite.

Well as Mark Cuban once said, "No balls no babies.". Hopefully, that remains true in this case.

Well, if the gamble turns out anything like the last Holgrem QB coach that made a one step move up to HC, I'll be fairly happy.........

I am excited about the hire, and I think he will do a good job, we need to support him and give him time to adjust to the position and plan for the future.

I am REALLY looking forward to the season, even though it seems like years away. Zorn could be a really exciting coach. Hopefully the offense will actually be exciting to watch for once in my lifetime.
