Since we our front office has proven they COULD stop 85 *oopps wrong dude* lol. How soon does the #8 car pull out from Redskins Park or does he?

Why would he stay? There is huge cap savings involved in letting him go. So it's pretty much a given that he's gone.

I'm pretty sure he's gone and I'm not at all upset about it. I'm not one of the people that bad mouthed him near the end of his time as starter, and he did help take us to the playoffs in 05, but I don't think he's really going to do us any good anymore and he is costing us WAY too much money.

I'm pretty sure Brunell is gone, whether he retires or the Redskins release him.
The Redskins have publically stated they want to keep Todd Collins. They haven't said anything about Brunell.
I can't see them wanting to pay, what they expect to be, the #3 QB that much.
I think what they are waiting for is to see whether or not they are able to retain Collins. There is no reason to push Mark Brunell out the door until you are sure you have Todd Collins re-signed.

I expect Brunell to be cut, but that's not a lock. If Collins signs elsewhere, since he's going to test the market, we might keep MB as our #2. But for that to happen he'd definitely have to rework his contract, something I don't think he'd have a problem doing.

Brunell's contract automatically voids by Friday, Feb. 29, the start of free agency. He's essentially an unrestricted free agent from that point on.

Brunell Gets New Contract
By Jason La Canfora

"...His new contract makes his existing deal obsolete and will make Brunell a free agent following the 2007 season, according to league sources (the new contract technically is for four years, but the final three years will void automatically)."
