A deal between the Jaguars and free agent CB Drayton Florence is reportedly "all but done."
Apparently Florence's trip to Tampa wasn't productive. It sounds like he'll fly to the Jacksonville area Saturday and sign a monster contract he isn't worth.
Per the San Diego Union-Tribune (http://weblog.signonsandiego.com/sports/chargers/weblog/index.html)
Looks like he's gone, so if he was FA target...he wasn't for long.
Jaguars signed CB Drayton Florence. He will receive $12 million in guarantees.
He's only a league-average cornerback, but he was the most experienced starter on the market. Jacksonville did well signing Brian Williams to a similar deal, and now has one of the deepest backfields in the NFL. Florence will probably be a nickel back.

If we don't sign one free agent thats fine with me. Hasn't everybody been saying "you build a team through the draft? either way as long as they don't overspend and it makes the team better I'm in.

Would have been nice to have him here, but if he's looking for a monster contract of some sort, he just wasn't worth it. And kudos to the Redskins Front Office for not over-paying for him.

REPORTS OF FLORENCE TO JAGS PREMATURE
In response to a report from the San Diego Union-Tribune that cornerback Drayton Florence has a deal "all but done" with the Jags, a league source tells us that a deal is not imminent, or close.
Florence will visit with the Jags on Saturday, and he might work out a deal with them. But we're told that he's scheduling other visits and talking with other teams and isn't poised to sign with the Jaguars, or anyone.
With Asante Samuel signed and Marcus Trufant and Nnamdi Asomougha wearing the franchise tag, Florence is arguably the best free-agent option on the market at the position.

Another player we completely missed the boat on. For only 12 million guaranteed? Damn. We could have signed Porter and Florence for 22 million in guarantee's and have been done with it. Drafted DL, OL, LB and then add on with WR and CB/S rookies. Relative the $ we missed an opportunity.

How is that someone we should go after? Somebody is really going to overpay there.
