 Good grief...I couldn't watch that but for so long. That was the most ignorant thing I've ever seen. (what I saw of it anyway). You can certainly tell what drives that dude...MONEY! Bill was "ok" b/c he gave millions of dollars to revitalize that community. So I guess Obama needs to ante up so this guy will sing his praises:rolleyes: . I don't think I've ever heard a "pastor" tell his congregation that "you are so dumb you can't poor piss out of a boot". How can ppl listen to this garbage? Pastors like that belittle ppl and make them think they can't live w/o his input or advice..that's how he pays for his home, car, and church buildings...

To answer your question...No...Rev Wright is not the only person preaching racism, hate or anti-americanism. There are plenty of those around for your listening pleasure:mad:

*edit*this idiot was the marketing president for Ford? No wonder all the labor was sent overseas and the truck plant here was closed!*

*edit 2*..He's a christian? How can you claim christianity and spew hatred like that from the pulpit? Good Lord...this guy is pitiful!

I am suprised that people are shocked that wackos are doing outrageous things in the name of God.

so now Wright is a racist? What exactly did Wright say to be labeled a racist? I never heard his entire speach, but I thought the controversy was Wright blamed American foreign policy in part for 911.

Specifically he cited

Israel's treatment of the Palistinians which America finances.
America's support for dictators in the ME region.
Wright also mentioned America's racist past and said it's still going on.
All of these are controversial statements, but are they racist? What am I missing?

Rev. Wright is a liberation theologist. The Liberation theology came out of the Catholic church and is concerned with not only Jesus the redeamer, but also Jesus the liberator of the opressed masses. Liberation theologists are concerned with bringing justice to the poor and oppressed. It's not racist.

You are wasting your breath. I tried to discuss that distinction, between being overtly racist to others and feeling that others have been racist toward you. Between hating white people and hating "the Man."

I have been unable to make any headway.

"Rev. Wright thinks a society led by rich white people have held him down ... ergo Rev. Wright blames white people for his problems... ergo Rev. Wright hates people because of the color of their skin... Racist!!!"

They do not see that they have changed the definition of racism inthe process.
