Alright, you guys have no idea how hard this is going to be for me. I've been a member here for about 6 1/2 years now. I don't know if anyone will even care or if I'll get banned. But I'll just cut right to the chase. I'm not 40, I was never 40, like my age said. When I registered I was 15 years old, and everyone else was so much older, so I wanted to fit in and said I was born in 1967. I was born in 1986. I'm actually 21 years old, so it's time to come out of the closet.

I've kept up this facade for too long. That's why I've been mostly lurking for the past few years...I was sick of posting like I was 40 when I was actually 21.

So there you go, I lied about my age when I registered and I've lied about my age for the past 6 1/2 years. I just got accepted originally as 36 year old OrangeSkin, and when I finally started feeling ashamed of the deception, it was too late to go back and reveal my real age.

When I was 14-18 I lied to buy and smoke cigs. ( I no longer smoke )

When I was 15-20 I lied to buy and drink alcohol ( I still drink but don't lie about my age )

When I was 27-now I lied to say I was 21-23 and hook up with college freshman at bars ( no comment )

Now that you know I'm 21, I guess I should tell you a bit about myself.

I'm an English major at the University of Mary Washington, and yes, I actually am from Fredericksburg, Virginia. That's pretty much all you need to know. I didn't go to Syracuse, I've been to Syracuse twice in my life. My dad graduated from Syracuse so I am a big fan of SU athletics, hence the handle and my claim that I went to school there.

And remember any posts from 01-02 are from when I was like 15 and 16, so I'm going to sound pretty stupid. But I don't mind the razzing, I deserve it. :)

Seriously though, it just sucked to see the community growing and not really be a part of it...and if I wanted to be, I had to keep up the facade that I was middle aged. So I wanted to shed that so I could be a part of the ES community as myself, not some fake 40-year-old.

When I first started here I had no idea I'd stick around for 6 1/2 years, none whatsoever. I thought I'd make a few posts and forget about this place, and that obviously didn't happen. I knew I'd have to confess my real age at some point, but I was afraid I'd be shunned. I'm glad that didn't happen and it just makes me love this place even more. :grouphug:
