OK so I used to be a staunch Mac guy. However, due to having gone to networking school too many years ago to count, I went over to the dark side of The Force, i.e. PCs.

Fast forward to about three years ago. I bought a new Dell desktop on ebay to replace the old clunker I built when I was in networking school. It worked fine for a year or so until I tried to upgrade to XP Pro. It stopped in the middle of the install and after trying for over a year to get it back up and running I finally gave up and sent it to a pro. Unfortunately, even he couldn't get it fixed. So, I went back to the one I built myself. Problem is, it's old as he11-still running Win2K.

Soooo, I just bit the bullet today and ordered a Mac Mini. If all goes well with it, which I fully expect, I'll make the switch complete when I replace my PC laptop in a couple of years or so. Now, if that stupid delivery guy would just hurry up and bring my :pooh: :fingersx:

In an ironic kind of way didn't apple go over to the darkside by letting you install and run windows and associated programs on their platform? ;)

I've also wondered if they crash all the time running windows since my pc certainly does.

Edit: Kinda spooky right after I posted this my pc crashed. Bill????:paranoid:

Awesome man! They are great computers. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, or need some cool places for desktop pictures ... you know, Mac-Geek type stuff.

I have a Mac Mini -- I love it.

I used to have a MacBook Pro with my old job.... I miss that thing so much.

I'm a Mac guy and used to be certified to teach some of their software. I switched professions and need to run Windows for a particular program for my business. I only have to use it for maybe 15 minutes at a time and funny enough it just froze for the first time in over year yesterday. It was Windows that froze though and nothing Mac related at all. :)

You'll be very happy with the switch, Yusuf.

Just beware that a lot of people are currently unhappy with 10.5 OS. I haven't made the switch but it has some awesome features as well.

I was a Windows/PC agonizer for 15 years. About 6 years ago, I got into the video media industry and discovered the Mac world.

I have a Macbook at home, a new iMac on my desk at work (killer display), and a G5 tower in my edit studio. Apple rules.

I have it on my Macbook. My only complaint is that it's so new that many accessories (printers, etc.) don't have drivers/software for it yet. Other than that it's totally badazz.

Use a super fast G5 at work. Love it, great for all my video editing and photoshopping needs. And at home? PC right now, about to replace it with another PC. Sorry, Mac is great, but it's just not what I'm looking for in a computer.

Is it the people who upgraded? I know a lot of people had issues after upgrading, but the ones who did an archive and install, or a clean install said it went smooth as butter.

I did a clean install on my system and haven't had too many issues outside of the norm that goes for about any system.
