After their initial trade offer of a seventh-round draft pick for Tennessee Titans (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=ten) cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=7182) was declined, the Dallas Cowboys (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=dal) have added a player to their proposal, according to a report on SI.com Thursday.
The Titans are considering the deal but need to address some financial issues before they accept the offer, according to the report. Jones has two years left on his original five-year, $30 million contract, and the Cowboys want to redo the deal, likely to one year.
Looks like he is trying to get him and he will just make it a one year deal. Not a bad idea but with 2 years remaining who is going to eat the rest of it?

That rumor has been talked about on Cowboy boards since late last night and it has been reported that team officials have denied it. I can't help it that ESPN just picked it up.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were true its just that the team seems to be denying every Pacman rumor that comes out. I think it obvious that something is going on and this thing is likley to happen. I'd be fine with trading Akin Adoyele and a 6th or 7th round pick. Akin is likley to be cut anyway.

a 7th rounder???
Man that's a steal even if Jones plays a season before he gets suspended again.

7th and a player?
I must presume the player is not one of importance.
Reward far outweighs the risk IMO. Get 'er done Jerrah!

I doubt the titans would only take a seventh for him hes still a great player its just his character problems. I don't know the situation just stinks. That idiot needs to get his act together if he wants to have a long meaningful career.

Why would the Titans not accept a seventh rounder and then when they are offered a player of no importance accept the offer. I think they want a 3rd rounder.

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports a deal that would send suspended CB Pacman Jones to the Cowboys is imminent.
The Cowboys and Titans reportedly spent Thursday working out the deal. Tennessee is asking for a third-round pick, while Dallas is only offering a sixth-rounder. However, it won't be too hard to bridge that gap by making the pick conditional. Dallas appears confident Jones will be reinstated for 2008.

They'll take that or they take nothing.
No one else is interested and they've already said he's played his last game in a Titans uniform.

I dont know HHM, I think they can get more then just a 7th though. I get what you're saying but a 7th is a no brainer like you said. Im really shocked that NE hasnt tried to step in and swoop you guys if thats the case..

Jerruh is bargain hunting.
Frankly, Tank hasn't panned out. And Pacman hasn't played in a year.
I hope Fisher rapes the pukes.

A 7th and a non-impact, non-starter is a no brainer.
And as far as we can tell thus far, New England has been adamant about not being interested whatsoever.
If I'm the Titans, I'm taking whatever I can get under all the circumstances.

Ummm, Tank played less than half a season and actually was better than most couldve hoped for. And theres no reason to think he won't continue to improve with more playing time now that Fergy is gone.
And the comparison with Tank isnt really whether he made an impact or not, its if hes been a good boy since Dallas signed him.
And so far so good (knock on wood), as much as it pains you.
Tank and T.O., from a behavioral standpoint, have more than worked out. Exactly the opposite of what you predicted.
But what else is new? :)

you'd give up a top tier corner and punt returner for a 7th?
i dont care what he had done..if he's playing and i CANT get more then that I cant see giving him up.

At this point, they dont really have a choice.
Fisher and the rest of the organization have basically cut all ties with Jones and outright said he's done in Tenn.
What choice do they have?

Puleeeese...Tank was rusty and didn't have much of an impact except for making a bone-headed penalty at an inopportune time.
Keep thinking these are brilliant moves. When the pukes get a slow start out of the blocks, please remember this thread.

Jerruh as GM is what they have going for them.
How stupid will it be that he has to surrender a pick AND a player for a guy no one wants.
Brilliant!

Wait this new deal may involve a player? But the Titans need to examine the financial issues first? Who could they be trading that would take that much thought? Oh noes... THey are trading Roy Williams, then when they have Pacman they can trade up and grab Kenny Phillips to replace him. boggles!

Titans would be foolish to give up a top teir corner for a 7th. As for the what choice do they have question, I would just hold on to him until they got a better offer. I'm sure at some point during the season someone will lose a #1 corner and be desperate for a replacement. IMO, a 3rd or 4th in '09 draft would benefit the team far more than an '08 7th and some scrub. Both of which would probably get cut.

I heard Pacman on Irvin's radio show and the man just sounds like he's uneducated. I swear I dont know how these kids go to college for at least 3 years and still end up sounding like they're just thugs out the hood with no smarts to them.
"yeah I got the right to go to the strip club. It was dumb, but I'm a grown man".
