I liked the Casino Royale alot, and I liked Daniel Craig playing the raw, gritty Bond as well. Anybody read the book? I have never read any Ian Fleming books, but I like the spy thrillers so I was thinking about checking them out.:2cents:

i thought Casino Royale was the last of the books (well the first, but i thought it was the final one that hadn't been a real movie yet).

The book is a short story. A Britt ambassador is shooting the breeze with Bond, and tells Bond the story of a guy whose wife left him. IIR, there's not a single "spy" thing in the entire story, and Bond is simply the audience for the story.

I suspect they won't follow the book much.

Quantum is one of the few titles they haven't used. (Only other one I can think of is [i]Risico[/u] (Risk). (Which is nothing more than the description of a gunfight.)

Can't really say they use the books, much, in many cases. Often, the only thing they've used from the book is the title and the name of the villain.

I suspect they won't follow the book much. The movie will have jets in it. It has to. That's how I know. The jet scenes will be brief however. The pilots will have limited speaking roles.

The "Quantum of Solace" movie storyline picks up where the last movie left off, with Bond trying to find out more about the dude at the end of the movie and his organization.

The following link has what you might consider spoilers if you don't want to find out anything about the movie until November. Nothing really revealing, though:

BTW, POker, Casino Royale with Craug is it's 3rd incarnation on a screen. It was actually a tv special episode back in the 50's, and an odd but big movie in the late 60's with Woody Allen, believe it or not, and Peter Sellers. David Niven was JB. And the breast star was Ursula Andress--wowza!!

Thanks to all. I see the unused title making a lot of sense now.
