In the history of baseball has anyone ever missed more games due to injury than rocco baldelli? Seriously....he's probably been active for like 15`% of his career games

^Yeah, his strike zone is rather large....when we are at bat. I like the way Guthrie is pitching, he's got his curve going. These jams are annoying but he gets out of them. I'll take a 5 run inning.

1. I don't give a **** how many pitches Guthrie has thrown. Keep him IN the ****ing game through 7. ****.
2. Pena's dinger was just unfortunate. The two runners on base were on because of an error (called an infield hit, but it was an error) and a flare popup to no man's land. Then a mistake. **** me.
3. Sarfate wasn't getting it done...why keep him in the ****ing game? Oh and Pena got the highest bull**** level walk ever. The PITCH was a strike and he ****ing swung at the ball. ball 4, what ****ing ever.
This is why I didn't boast about the bullpen when it was going well.

I'm too angry to really make a thorough analysis. I've been so mad all night I couldn't even party properly.
- Luis Hernandez needs to get his head in the game. He messes up a grounder, and he should've gotten out further on that Crawford bloop single. That's two plays in a row he lets the batter get on. Then Pena blasts one.
- The third base umpire BLEW that "walk" on Pena with the bases loaded to give the Rays the lead. Pena clearly went around. Would've been the second out. The flood gates opened after that.
Tomorrow is about as close to a must win game you'll get early in the season. I know that sounds silly, but it's true.

That is how I feel about Luis Hernandez's D and our bullpen yesterday.
I guess we had to come back to earth eventually.

The hardest thing to do in sports is stop losing. It's what separates the good teams from the bad. It was a good start, and I actually think we'll be playing our best baseball after the All-Star break. Because they are young, they are going to have growing pains early in the year, and it's expected. The thing that concerns me, is the starting pitching has to consistently go 6-7 innings for them to be effective. We can't have pitchers over 100 pitches before the 6th inning on a consistent basis, there isn't enough bullpen arms to overcome that. So we'll see how things shake out, tonight is a must-win game though.

Well, I figured out how to win. All I have to do is not post during the game. Easy. It also helped when I threw one of my Nikes into the middle of the room after Upton got on with that bunt.
What a bomb by Ramon Hernandez, and huge. I liked how Cabrera pitched, getting ahead helps tremendously. That double play he got Haynes to ground into was big. Also, Adam Jones needs to learn how to hit situationally, he left Ramon on third with 1 out in the 2nd inning. Obviously he is young, he reached for a slider.
Gigantic game tomorrow, going home 8-4 would be a big lift to our morale. So let's do it.

Bradford never allows dingers. Maybe Trembs should pitch him against Pena. I know Pena had bad numbers against Walker in the past, but I think he figured something out about his pitching.
Hernandez crushed that bad boy. A nice no doubter for the lead late in the game.
I love Shep's 1-2-3 saves!

Mora walks.
Markakis K's on a 3-2 heater. Looked tentative.
Millar grounds to short, who makes a bad throw to second. Everybody's safe!
Huff pops out on a pitch at his shoulders. BLECH.
Scott hits a warning track ball. Damn, I thought it was gone...

I had a bad feeling after we didn't score in the first inning. We just aren't producing at the plate right now.
2-4 on the road trip doesn't do it. I was hoping for at least 3-3. We need to have a winning home stand, bad.

I think his power numbers in HRs will be about the same or a few worse, but his steals, obp, runs scored and overall ops will increase. I think he's going to be pitched around with the lack of a good 4 hole hitter behind him. Pitchers are going to make him hit to the opposite field or take walks.

April-13th-2008, 09:17 PM
i think his numbers will go down, he has no protection and is now known as a great hitter around MLB. I wouldn't expect too much of a decrease though.

Lose 2 out of 3 to Texas and TB on the road. The real O's are showing up I guess. But to be expected out of a young team. I'm not getting down on them. I said we might have to go down further before we get back up. Let's do some damage at home.

4 out of 6 being loses sucks, but last year that was a 6-game losing streak.
