BUCS HAVE SEVEN QUARTERBACKS (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/04/27/bucs-have-seven-quarterbacks/)

The quarterback-loving Tampa Bay Buccaneers (http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/#) have seven — count ‘em — seven quarterbacks on the roster, after adding Josh Johnson in round five on Sunday.

Our friends at Pewter Report report that the Bucs will take only five of them to training camp (http://www.pewterreport.com/articles/view/4135).

Presumably, no more than three will be on the active roster, so four of the quarterbacks currently in Tampa won’t be in Tampa come September.

The other six are Jeff Garcia, Brian Griese, Bruce Gradkowski, Luke McCown, Chris Simms, and Jake Plummer.

Plummer retired a year ago, and has shown no inclination of coming back. Simms most likely will be cut before training camp.

That leaves Griese, Gradkowski, McCown, and Johnson to battle for two roster spots. Our guess is that it’s Gradkowski vs. Johnson, and Griese vs. McCown.

Bring in as many QB's as we can and hope one will pan out. I guess that is one philosophy of doing things.

If you could add the seven of them together, you'd have about two worthwhile quarterbacks.

Maybe they're going to use one of the QBs for an spleen transplant for Chris Simms. Or perhaps they will take different pieces of each QB making one complete monster QB. I suppose if you can't draft a Peyton Manning/Tom Brady, you can always make one.

Grrrr....ME AM Jeff Garciagriesegradkowskimccownsimmsplummerjohnsonjin gleheimerschmit! YOUR NAME MY NAME TOO. AM BEST QB EVER!

I've heard of a player just being used as a warm body...but this is ridiculous!

It could be that the Redskins are using the same theory with their WRs... :whoknows:

I have to admit that was funny.

I'll be happy to hear that Spleenless bastard Simms is out of the league. I really hate that little prick.

I really hate Chris Simms, remember when he was running out of bounds and he taunted Carlos Rogers?
