Do any of these rookies start on opening day? Who has the best chance? I say less than a 50% chance with the punter having the best shot.

You think less than 50% of the players have a chance to start? Or each player has a less than 50% chance of starting?
Most rookies don't start opening day. Thomas or Kelly will "start" if we open in a three-wide set. Davis will start in two TE sets. The punter will be starting.
It's a process. Our depth is better and over time some will develop into quality starters. Hopefully one or two will become stars.
We were a playoff team, we're looking for guys to contribute. The vets on this team can hold it down so we don't rely on them too early.

The easiest position to overtake is clearly the punter. If Frost is averaging low 40's and the rookies booming 45's and 50's consistantly, I bet hes our started Game 1.

Thomas or Kelly will start at the Split End position this year, depending on who has the better camp.

I think Devin Thomas will be our #3 and eventually #2 WR this season, Kelley will be #4 and probably stay there. Davis will never start here unless Cooley is hurt, Rinehart will not start here at all next season but possibly the year after that. Justin Tryon will most likely make the roster and become the #4 or perhaps the #3 CB (depends on when Carlos gets back), Durant Brooks has a legitimate chance to take over the starting position from Derek Frost this season, Kareem Moore and Chris Horton will most likely fight it out for the backup S position behind Doughty, Colt Brennan might make the roster, but I don't ever expect him to start in D.C. and Rob Jackson will not make the roster.

Durrant and Thomas should be starting.
I think some of the other guys get in on special teams though. Danny Smith always finds a way to incorporate those guys.

Brooks will either be starting or he won't be on the roster. So I'd say he has the best chance. There's also a small chance Thomas or Kelly "starts" over Randle El. I get the feeling they will all play so it may be hard to say who is starting exactly.

Thomas starts....and THE punter!
I also think Kelly is one of our 4 starting WRs, with he and Mix fighting for 4-5.

I thought Kelly would be the wr most ready, but Thomas having more potental. But it will take these guys awhile to learn. They will have to keep 3 vet recievers on the team for sure. The punter has a good chance if he can stay even with Frost during preseason than he will get the benifit of the doubt.

Rhineart has the best chance of starting simply because the FO has earmarked him to play all 5 OL positions. Any one of those guys gets nicked up and we might see him start right away.

The Punter has the best chance of starting.

I doubt Rinehart will start from day one, but I think he will become an invaluable player for the Skins this season as age and injuries inevitably claim a couple of the regular starters on the O-line. Rinehart is easily my favorite day 2 pick.

Depends on your definition of starter. If you mean strictly a full time starter, and NOT a starter in certain formations, then it will be either Kelly or Thomas, and Brooks. Rinehart could push for the guard spot, but unlikely he starts from the get go. He could be starter by the end of the season.
However, if you mean guys who will see good amounts of playing time given certain formations, then Kelly, Thomas, and Davis will definitely be starters. Brooks has a great chance at usurping Frost. Tryon could be the nickle CB, or it could be Torrence. Rinehart, like I said, could be starting in place of Kendall by the end of the season. Moore has a good chance at a back-up spot.
If the terms are strictly that they make the 53 man roster, then Kelly, Thomas, Davis, Rinehart, and Tryon are essentially locks. Colt Breannan and Brooks are very strong possibilties, and I'd bet on them both making the final roster. I'd bet on Moore making the final roster in a back-up role as well. I think the 2 7th rounders, Jackson and Horton, are practice squad material.

I really don't see Mix beating out Thrash. Thrash is proven at WR, is an ace on special teams, and gives you added value as a backup returner.

I think Kelly and Thomas will be competing for the starting position opposite Moss, and both will be starting within the next 3 years. Randel El will move to the slot.
And I do think Frost is done.
2 immediate new starters.

This is the problem.
Once people lose their hard-ons because we drafted a guy who almost won the heisman, reality will set in.
Few, if any of these picks will contribute anything of significance next season.
WRs rarely do their first season. They may help some in the red zone....and that is about all you can hope for this season.
Once the dust settles.....it will become clear that our draft was for future seasons, in hopes that one of the receivers can become great three years from now.
But the draft did little, if anything at all to help our team this season.
Line would have helped. Parcells drafted nothing but linemen.
For some reason, we just haven't learned that yet.

Unless Brooks's game goes to crap before the season starts, he will be our punter. You don't draft a punter unless you are sure that he will be a pro bowler. He should be 20 times better than Frost because if he isn't, Vinny will have a lot of explaining to do.
One of the receivers will be in the top 3 and will start once Zorn realizes Randle El should be in the slot. I actually think that Kelly will be the better of the two early on because he is the more NFL ready. Thomas is still a little raw, but he definitely has the most potential.
Davis won't start unless Zorn opens the game with a 2 tight set at some point.

Brooks will start and I think Kelly will be out #3 WR and eventually will be out #2. He's a better route runner and has better hands than Thomas

Frost was among the worst punters in the league. Brooks is one of the best prospects to come out, with potential to get even better since he only had 2 seasons punting in college (before that he was at junior college). He also didn't take punting seriously as a career until after high school. Improved a lot in those short years and still was able to have the highest average in the history of the ACC and 1st-team All-ACC both years that he played. With almost half of his punts over 50 yards.

To be honest i see thomas or kelly getting the #3 WR spot. Hell with the injuries santana gets every season dont be suprised to see both rookie starts. I will tell you one thing though kelly will lead redskins in Td's. A rookie WR will lead the redskins in receptions.

I think Thomas, kelly and Davis all start one time or another throughout different formations and what not...personaly im not sure about the punter, from ONE video i see a long punt and i hear through other people he is accurate as hell...but this site says his accuracy is his biggest flaw, so im not sure what to think of him

Brooks nailed quite a few coffin corner punts. There were also a few that barely rolled into the end zone. Coverage units had a bit to do with this. As I said, he could improve in the NFL, as he's only had 2 years experience in D-I college, both years of which he was one of the best punters in college.
I wouldn't be surprised if not only that he starts but ranks among the top half of punters in average next year. I really feel he can be the real deal and one of the best punters in the league.

dont get me wrong, I think he is a solid kicker, just confuses me why that site says accuracy is his biggest flaw.
BUT...then again that video is from sports illustrated :D

According to Zorn, they're going to stick each WR in a spot and side of the field and coach them on one thing at a time. I think the plan is to have Thomas start opposite Moss and move ARE to the slot right away. I don't think that they want to try and have either Thomas or Kelly try and master more than one position on the field. And not all WR positions are the same. So saying "he'll be the #2, #3" etc. is a little mis-leading.
So it's very possible that Thomas/Kelly and ARE will split time at one starting WR position, with ARE moving into the slot on 3+ WR formations, and Thomas/Kelly would come in as the outside receiver. In 2 WR formations, for the early part of the season, I see ARE and Moss starting.
The punter will start.

also another note on the rookies...i just realized it must take a LOT of pressure off these rookies knowing that the ENTIRE team is leaning this knew offense and not just them...this could end up being a good thing
