View Full Version : pacman in #21 makes me sick

I just saw the espn video excerpt and i wanted to throw up after seeing him wear that number. I am not an extremist, nor do I think that there should be any type of restrictions on any other player on any other team to wear whatever number they please. Sean has passed and it's been hard but we are all moving on. But seeing that just struck a cord with me. Makes it worse that we have to see that waste of life twice a year. Keep calling yourself the next prime time, im sure he'll stand for all that deon stood for. You'll be just like that money grubbing loud mouthed P.O.S. that would go anywhere if the price was right.
RIP ST 21

Too sensitive.
So the entire league should just retire the number 21?
Denver had two players die.....should we not use their numbers on our team?
It is more of an insult to HOF Prime Time, than it is to Taylor.

The Cowboys have shown a recent propensity for being a character-rescuer with a lot of these players (TO, Tank, Pacman). As much as I'm glad my team does it's best to avoid rewarding players like that, the trade for Pacman was a phenomenal trade. He will make their CB-corps a top-5 in the league, as well as providing a quality punt returner. That hurts me to say because I despise JJ more than DS, but unfortunately it's true.

I really don't care what number he wears. If the Redskins retire the #21, great. It shouldn't affect the other teams.

The Cowboy fans can say he cost them little all day long but the commish's new ruling (after June 1) will have teams paying hefty fines and possibly draft picks if their players are arrested. With Pacman's propensity for the dark side known prior to the trade, Dallas deserves to get the book thrown at them when it occurs.:2cents:

If the Commish was talking draft picks, then I could see it being a concern. But I just don't see a fine bothering JJ. He's obviously got more money than skin cells on his face. Bringing pacman in probably has some negative publicity, but you know what they say about pub. He is a talent, and they basically gave up nothing to get him. It's like they benefit from other team's finally throwing in the towel on a player. The player gets suspended and then seems to wake up and realize they're on their last leg in the NFL. I would not be surprised at all if Pacman were a model citizen in Dallas.

To me Stu Schweigart wearing #36 is worse, because it's a Skins jersey. Every team has a player that wears 21, and that's not even the number I associate with Sean since it's so common. He never should have changed it, as Smoot should never have left.

It makes me feel weird to see anyone wearing that number. I have an autographed picture of Smoot in 21, before he left home and came back, and it makes me wince. But, it's a number. People will wear it. Many people wore it before him and many wore it after. I hope not to see another in a Redskins uniform, but it'll probably happen.

My two cents on the topic: there is an emotional reaction many 'skins fans will have (reasonably given the circumstances) to Pac-man wearing the same number as ST, but the meaning we attach to that is strictly emotional.
As we all know, 21 is a number for all teams. The feeling is still legit, but we have to take responsibility for having it, and if someone else, even another Redskins fan, doesn't have such a feeling I certainly don't think "they really should." I obviously wouldn't expect a non-Redskins fan to feel it.
And, of course the # 21 in Cowboy World is about referencing Deion and makes sense, although there may be Cowboy-Deion fans who aren't thrilled about Pac-man wearing it either.
Also, maybe Dallas is doing a good job of handling these head cases. While still a fruit-basket, TO hasn't imploded the team in an on-the-field-detrimental way yet (as far as I can tell) and has been very key to what success they've had, and Tank seems to be minding his business. If Pac-con messes this golden opportunity up, he truly is a fool.

I don't why it didn't stick. I just did again, even after re-considering for a moment, though I made it for one month instead of two. And, sorry to say, I don't buy your comment of protesting "troll", though you have historically been respectful of ST.
I figured it may have been that you felt just riling the OP, or those who might feel like he does, was separate from being disrespectful about ST, and I took it that way (separate)---I didn't consider it deliberately and intentionally meant to be directly disrespectful to ST(though it was to anyone having such sentiments as the OP) when I made my decision.
But it was a blatant troll and in an unaccpetbale context that should be clear to anyone, period. You posted right after the OP who made a very clear statement and the only motive possible in your pic-posts were to specifically incite, and no matter what, it was tied to a sensitive topic on this board.
You've lost touch a bit. You'll be welcome back after the ban. Your friends can tell you I did reduce it to one month due to your past respect to ST.

Well thats just like your opinion man......
While there was some sarcasim in my op. I do believe that the cowboys got a steal in PacMan. They now have arguebly the top corner back tandem if it works out and PacMan stays out of trouble (which he will). If it doesnt work then they get their draft pick back. Either way it has virtually no risk. Shows that Jerry Jones is a talent acquisiton genious.

Sort of unrelated, but I had a question about Roy Williams. I saw on either NFL Network or SC that he is going to switch from jersey #31 to #38, his old number at Oklahoma. I'm only curious if this is true because Ryan Clark wanted to honor ST by switching to #21, but the league would not let him, but Roy "Deer in the Headlights" Williams wants to switch numbers and gets to, no questions asked? What's the deal with that?

I don't know why they wouldn't let Clark change his number but I would dare say letting RW switch had to do with merchandising. As a general rule, I would guess the NFL doesn't want players randomly changing numbers but if there is money to be made they will look the other way.
RW used to sell a lot of merchandise. Although his volume must be going south, the NFL still probably sees $$$ to be made selling the new #38 merchandise.
Ryan Clark, outside of family/friends probably isn't making the NFL much money on his merchandise.

3. The only one looking silly here ... per usual is you... and you may take the same advice I gave BigD...... sometimes it is smarter to lay low than to keeping poking the bear....
Once again, your barking at BigD AFTER he was banned makes you look silly IMO.

Promote? What is all this promote BS? Dude, you scare NOBODY! You are a flashlight cop. Mall security. I'm trying to take it light on you. Seriously, you hold no weight here.
Trust me. It's taken very lightly. You are an honorary fire man. A flashlight cop. They don't allow you to carry gun because you would misuse it. His actions had everything to do with your post. You are mall security barking at the man arrested by the real police. Seriously, you are transparent.
The OP is lame IMO.

Man, you must be confused. CZ is down the road two blocks and under the bridge. Look for a big cow pie and you're there.

My apologies for attacking Bubba instead of the thread itself.

Pacman is ****ing scum.
I'd love to see Sellers or Cooley truck his ass. Better yet, send him on a CB blitz and let CP lay his ass out.

THA think for a second......
after Jumbo banned BigD he posted to him explaining why.....
because BigD will be able to read it.... the same reason I posted a reply to him....
and for the record.... it was hardly talking tough...
however you really could care less what was posted... it was just another excuse to take a pot shot at me.... as you do tr1, and others in your childish attempt to discredit us somehow.... like a little brother who is so jealous of his older sibling that he is constantly running to mommy telling on his sibling, of course exaggerating and twisting the details as he goes along
and this "mall cop" doesn't need a gun to roust a two bit low life making a fool of himself inside his shopping center
:security:
**PS** I didn't see your "apology" until after I posted this.... but it still doesn't change anything I said

Be very glad that that apology is there,(though "too honest" isn't what I would refer to it as),or the time off would be longer. Let's be clear on this. Bubba is head of the mall police and carries a one of those very big Maglites. When he uses it on somebody, the "E.S.police" tend to listen. Keep that in mind while re-reading rule #18. Now, back to pac-man, (better you than me).

So are you from Dallas or West Virginia? Either way you should be banned for this. This is far worse than posting pictures of that POS. And misspelling the word genius is very indicative of the intelligence level of your post.

I dont know PacMan looks like a beast. I'm more upset that we have to go aganst him twice a year. Too bad we couldnt sign him. I'd say he should rock 21 for the skins.

I'd say he should rock 21 for the skins.I decided to reread this quote and now I'm even more disgusted by it - and it proves you're a troll. I'm not going to argue your opinion of signing Pacman - fine, ok, that's what you think. But the fact you said he SHOULD wear 21 says it all - that you're just another Mass_SkinsFan type of poster - the "oh I'm a great Redskins fan - but the Skins suck and do stupid things and I hate them" kind of troll. You could have simply said "I think we should have signed Pacman" and left it at that. But, no, the fact is that you SPECIFICALLY said he should wear #21 - that makes you just someone who likes to add stupid posts and say obviously inflammatory things so he can make himself an attention whore.
Anything else I say here is going to get me a vacation...

THA, you're lucky. I'm not going to do one of my "long posts", but I will say that when I talked to bubba about this, typical of the type of guy he is, he asked me not to make too big a deal out of it. He pointed out that he didn't care about the personal stuff, but understood if I had a problem with that type of "disrespectful to ANY ES staff" angle.
PCS handled it first and it sounds like he gave you some slack, so be appreciative.

You do know a player named Deion wore #21 with dallas a while back right? Taylor doesn't own the number 21. I'm sorry but some of you guys are just looking for something to get upset about. Get over it already.

Get over it already.Like I've said here and in other "Pacman" posts, I don't care if he wears #21 for any team he signs for - whatever. The only way I care is had Redskins signed him - THEN I wouldn't want him wearing #21.

Some of you really need to get some serious professional help, or get over yourselves. I am sooooo tired of you little cry babies constantly belly-aching over the loss of Sean Taylor. Grieving is completely natural, but some of you have become an EMBARRASSMENT. Please take your obviously inability to move on to ANOTHER site.

I know, this thread is full of fail.
I really wish the new guys would read the rules, and search around before making a thread.
Dumb posts are one thing, but dumb threads that don't die quickly and are drawn out by stupid post after stupid post infuriate me.
I don't HAVE to click on them, but I can't help but come in and start straightening some bitches out.
