A lot of injuries last season held back Redskins from making this list or being higher on it.

It is nice to see Fletcher receiving recognition.

Where is Andre Carter? You must have skipped him.

No way Flozell is over Samuels.

What the heck is the deal with the Gurode crush.

Redskins win more than 6 games this season.

Cowboys, the team of destiny again, I love it! Choke city baby.

Sigh, more of the same from the national media.. 9-7 playoff team, but no players in the Top 50.. Portis 16th in the league at RB despite finishing in Top 10 in total yards from scrimmage.. Blah blah blah, let's get the season started already!

HAHAHA @ Barber better than Portis.

I guess it makes you a better tailback when you can only play half the reps of a true starter. I hear under 1,000 yards is so in this year.

Before we even get into the Redskin stuff I would like to go on record and say that I woul trade Bob Sanders and Demarcus Ware for Adrian Peterson. When you get to the point of saying Brian Westbrook is better than Clinton Portis it is time for the meds. I would also like to know how in the heck they could possibly believe that there are 15 better backs in the NFL. I guess these are the same people who thought Curtis Martin was just a so so back for 10 years and over 11,000 yards. The love affair with Barber is rediculous as well. He might not even be the best back on his own team anymore. Andre Carter doesen't even make the list, come on.

This Marion Barber bull**** is ridiculous. He's the most overrated RB in the NFL by far!!!! And the Cowboys in the Superbowl?????? They've fallen apart 2 year straight in the playoffs. How does anyone expect them to make the Superbowl???

June-14th-2008, 12:00 PM
I love Westbrook, the Cowboys game where he took the knee at the 1 despite having an open opportunity to walk into the end zone, to run the clock out rather than give the ball back to the boys was a really heads up . BUT he runs a different system I would not want to have to put the teams fate on his shoulders alone going into December .

I would put those two running backs on a par (Portis and Westbrook) and Barber and Jacobs a little behind .

I also think Hamlin is WAAAAAAAAY over rated

Wow, they are really playing into the ever growing illegal (oops, I mean hispanic) demographic. The love for the Cowboys is nothing but a marketing ploy. And I am sorry, but Demarcus Ware isn't even a top 20 player let alone the 6th best player in the N.F.L.

Yeah, well said on Gurode. How many times do you have to snap the ball over your quarterback's head before you get into the probowl?

They can keep sending the whole Cowboys team to the probowl for all I care, it works out better for us. That just means they have to keep shelling out cap space for mediocre players who wouldn't make as much on another team.

2 of their 4 criteria are completely subjective.

Gurode is first among centers, but can't snap out of the shotgun.

Their SB prediction is a safety pick, even if they're wrong they can justify it. Any idiot can pick two of the perceived best teams and say they'll make the Superbowl.

Barber over Portis????

Barber needed only SIX MEASLELY YARDS last season in the final game against the Redskins to have 1,000yards, and he couldn't even get it.

In fact, he lost yardage. :D

Portis, meanwhile, missed some time last year, and finished with.... what? About 1,200 yards?

Yet Barber is one of the top 50 players in the league, and Portis isn't even in the top half of RBs alone????

What the heck is the deal with the Gurode crush.

getting his head stomped on by Haynesworth, got his name out there... quick name 3 other starting centers...

add the pokes reg. season record.... & ta-da!

why do any real research, when 90% of fans know nothing about the OL

Redskins win more than 6 games this season.

isn't funny how the Skins this season have many similarities to the pokes 06 off season.... they were the preseason SB NFC team pick,... The Redskins?..... last in the NFC east, & under 6 wins

Bush, Barber III, L Johnson over Portis?

Larry Johnson is not a good running back, Reggie Bush is well on his way to bust status, and Barber wasn't even able to beat out Jones for the starting spot.

Larry Johnson is not a good RB??? Okay......

Over the past 3 seasons...

Larry Johnson has started 33 games, Portis has started 39 games....

Johnson's averaged 4.3 yards per, Portis has averaged 4.1

Johnson has 40 TD's, Portis has 29 TD's

Rushing Yards since 2005 ---- Johnson - 4098 ---- Portis - 3301

Total Yards since 2005 ---- Johnson - 5037 ---- Portis - 4076

Barber III VS Portis...... Over the past 2 seasons..........

Barber averaged 4.8 yards per carry, Portis averaged 4.0

Since 2006, Barber's had 28 TD's, Portis had 18 TD's

Since 2006,
Portis had 452 carries for 1785 yards
Barber had 339 carries for 1629 yards

In that time, Portis had 113 more carries than Barber, for only 156 more yards...

Aside from the stats, nobody can deny that Barber runs harder than Portis, and also brings more toughness and swagger to his team.

Bush VS portis

I agree with you here, there's nothing to back-up Bush being better than Portis.............

Anyways, why don't you go back to your corn farm in texas and make us some ethanol.

I dont expect anybody to admit to agreeing with me, but maybe I can bring a fresh perspective. And maybe long after my threads are dead and gone, the masses will finally see things my way....

What fun is it if we all agree? Plus, it's the off-season....

As for rubbing it in...... No! My team hasn't won a playoff game in over a decade, just ask anybody ;).... I take no comfort in all these magazines picking us to reach the Super Bowl, I'd rather they pick the Giants....

As for my corn farm, I wish it exsisted! Corn is going for record prices! If I had a corn farm, I'd probably be on a Corn Forum instead. Corn's good, but corn-bread is better. Did you know, there's a Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD... But the whole thing's not made out of corn, they just decorated the outside in corn, kind of a let down.........

You know what? I usually don't say this, but this list is not only rediculous, but it's laughable. The following positions were left out in Washington:

Clinton Portis (Value to the team?)
Chris Samuels (Maybe the Best Left Tackle in Football)
London Fletcher (Intricate to the workings of the defense as a whole, an extremely high value)

Publishings like these are quickly ruining the credibility of the sportswriters. Their love affair with everything Cowboys and Eagles is humorous. I hope Zorn is a locker room posting type of guy. These Redskins are going to turn some heads this year. I am considering using the video of ESPN's Monday Night Football and Audio from the Station I work for to listen to the game broadcast of Larry, Sonny, and Sam. (We have no delay)

Aside from the stats, nobody can deny that Barber runs harder than Portis, and also brings more toughness and swagger to his team.

I can deny that.

Nobody has shown the toughness and swagger that Portis has.

You disqualify your comments when, as others have said, you use 2006 as your proof when Portis was out most of the year with injuries (I think he only played parts of 6 games).

Barber is a short yardage, part-time back. It is very telling that the Cowboys drafted 3 RBs this year.

But you go on, you keep telling yourself that Barber is an elite back that can carry the ball 25+ times a game.

We heard this junk from Dallas fans about Julius Jones, too. How did that work out? :)

What is interesting also to me is that in 20 years... Portis will be in the HOF while Barber III will be trying to make a legacy of his washed out name by coaching Barber IV's high school team.

The whole Cowbum secondary was over rated last season. I stand corrected but they have to be he 1st team to send 3 of their 4 secondary players, yet they were ranked in the middle of the pack when it came to passing yardage.

And their over all pro bowl players was absurd. They sent more players than the Patriots!. How absurd is that?

Hamlin over Landry? LMFAO...

That is all... The rest, eh, doesn't bother me.

I just don't see Hamlin as being all that great, definitely not #6...
