Let's heat it up.

Sig Bets.......bring it.

I am spoken for until the end of the season, thanks to Gibbs believing Betts was best utilized on the bench last season.

That means it is up to you. Who is going to step up?:laugh:

I wont take your bet because it would mean I'd be betting against the Skins, but I dont think either of those things are going to happen.

Lets add another:

I bet that Malcolm Kelly will have the most yards out of our WR's this season. (Yes, including Moss) :)

Some rules..

--the receiver MUST be a WR. So, Cooley, Yoder, Davis, Portis, Betts, Sellers etc etc don't count. Only actual WRs will count.

--the minimum catches for Kelly will have to be on a number decided between 35-45 (say 40?). The number of catches can obviously be over the set number. However, it can't be any lower. Which would negate this whole thing. Gotta protect my sig if an injury, trade, suspension, etc etc should occur.

--So long as the minimum catches is obtained, an injury, trade, suspension, anything that would take him off the football field for some time in a Redskin uniform.. WON'T negate this whole bet. The minimum catch limit is the main rule for this particular bet.



Kinda weak, yet far fetched perhaps. Any takers?

not sure i can put one up about the skins. i do notice that none of the "experts" are giving this playoff team with 21 returning starters much credit. this is actually a good thing.

here are a few in regards to a couple of other teams:
the giants will not come close to repeating. true they had a stellar month of football when it counted most, but back to reality. strahan is gone, plax is talking holdout (by the way i hear this "out performed" his contract all too often. plax "under performed" his contract while in pittsburgh on many occasions and never demanded a pay cut). guys that do this often get hurt, and/or don't have as good a year that they feel warrants more $. eli was ok but tyree was the real mvp of the super bowl. he doesn't make that catch, they don't win the game. it wasn't like it was a great pass. it was a desperate heave that the receiver wanted more than the defensive back. this said, the g-men will not enjoy the same success, and might not even make the playoffs.

cleveland browns will also be transported back to reality. everyone is hyping the browns but they won't be what they were a year ago. winslow is talking more $ (see plax above). this is the same guy who blew out his knee trying to hot dog it on a motorcycle (a flagrant violation of his contract). the team stuck by him, so he should do the same. d anderson got paid and will probably be looking over his shoulder at brady quinn, who in my mind, is unproven although a self proclaimed "great" quarterback. braylon edwards is the bomb tho no doubt, and winslow is damn good in spite of what i said about him a few sentences ago. the big thing here is the schedule. the browns must play the nfc east (dallas, washington, giants, eagles) and the afc south (colts, jags, titans, houston) plus six divisional games that could go either way (steelers, ravens, bengals). 8-8 might be a great season for them.

yikes. the 14 games thing is a stretch. i think if this offense clicks and hes healthy, he'll do 1500 in the full 16 games, but to do it in 14, thats pushing it.

i will admitt that there is probably a 70%+ chance that i lose this bet but i just dont like ocho cinco so now that i've bet against him, i can still root against him. this is just a wild hunch. i am banking on that he will get hurt. he missed 4 games his rookie year, but none since. i realize the "due for an injury" rationalization is a poor one, but its a fun bet anyway. i wouldn't bet cash on this.

I've thought about creating another "Optimists vs Naysayers" bet thread, this time about Jason Campbell. I was going to set the parameters along the same lines as you have done here...JC having at least 50% more TDs than INTs (for example, 21 TDs and 14 INTs), JC throwing for more than 3,400 yards, and JC having a QB rating higher than 87.

Since there seemed to be a lot of fans on here who were constantly saying "JC is a bust" and "JC will be replaced by Collins/Brennan by week 5", I thought another "put your money where your mouth is" bet might be in order lol :cool:...

6) Jason Campbell throws more TDs than INTs
7) Kelly has a better year, statistically, than Thomas.
8) Davis has 4+ total TDs
9) The offense finishes averaging 21+ points per game
10) Randle El catches the 1st WR TD of the season
11) London Fletcher finishes with 120+ tackles
12) Carlos Rogers plays in 8+ games, and has 1+ INTs
13) Landry makes the Probowl
14) The Skins finish 8-8 or better
15) No starting O-lineman misses more than 2 games

I have Kelly having more receiving yards than Moss with a 32 catch minimum (2 catch per game average for the season)

If either WR's have 31 or under catches for the season, the bet is off.

In case of a tie? The TD bar is set at 5.

Both of us have taken the over.
