Choose the one that most describes you. (I.e. you may agree with more than one, but choose the one that describes you the most).
A. I want my most heated rivals to suck so I can laugh at them no matter what is going on with my favorite team.
B. I want my most heated rivals to be the best they can be, so if/when my favorite team beats them, it is all the more gratifying, even if it doesn't happen very often.
C. I don't really care what goes on with rival teams. I only care what happens to my favorite team.

Try a poll Puke fan!
:silly:
I'm stuck between A and B. Its great to beat the Cowboys, no matter if they're good or bad but it would be more satisfying to win when they're doing well and knock them down a few pegs.

Sorry, I forgot about the poll option. Maybe one of the mods could kindly edit it to become a poll or let me repost a different thread with a poll. I don't want to start duplicate threads.
I'm more of the B type because I like watching good teams no matter who they are.

Its all good.
I like to see good teams, but I just can't get any enjoyment out of seeing you guys do well.
I have a deep hatred for the Cowboys, I would love to see them lose every game, but I am by most accounts more obsessed with the Redskins than most (well maybe not most here on ES).
I'm not respectful when it comes to the Cowboys, sportsmanship is not an option--I hate them with every part of me.
Now, that doesn't mean you can't be respectful and less of an ******* than I am, because that would be perfectly normal.

I want them to suck, but the rivalries are even more enjoyable when the games are for playoff position.

Depends:
C. always matters b/c I follow the Redskins 24/7 and frankly don't give a **** what my rivals or their fans do (unless they want to chat here on ES ;) )
Now A and B depend on how my team is doing.
If we're fighting to grab a last seed in the playoffs and a rival is in the way.....I want them to suck royal.
If we're like 14-2...then I want you to play well so we won a tough division.

First & foremost I'm a Dallas Cowboy fan. I want them to win/prosper over anything that concerns how others in the NFCE are doing.
The other teams can be good but not as good as the Cowboys. If they go 13-3, I don't mind seeing the Skins, etc going 12-4 (especially if the Boys gave them 2 of those losses). I always want the Boys to win more games, advance further in the playoffs and win more SBs. Bottom line, I want to always have bragging rights over my rivals.
The rivalry is much better when the teams are good.
Sure, I could thoroughly enjoy the skins going 0-16 but I wouldn't want them to be a consistently terrible team. Its not much of an accident that virtually no one calls the Cardinals a heated rival when they were in the division.

I watch all football games and I follow what happens to every team during the season and off-season but I support the skins! I just love football college and Pro!

We need (D). All of the above. I want to see all the NFC East except the Redskins suck. I want to beat them no matter what their record is. I really only care about how we do, but I also scoreboard watch to make sure the rest of the division loses. I want us to go 16-0 and all the rest of the division go 2-14. And that IS possible, mathmatically.

Based on those choice, I'm an A.
Though I certainly care more about my team than I do about my rivals, I could never say that I don't care about my rivals at all.

I'm on two seperate levels:
C. for the Redskins - all I care about is them getting back to The Show
B. for my Penn State Nittany Lions - rolling Troy Smith on his head and beating the Buckeyes as underdogs... there are no words to express the feeling. But if Penn State is gonna stumble, I much rather see someone else in the Big Ten bring it strong and represent us.

I want my team to do well and my rivals to suck. Also, death to anybody who ever disagrees with me.

I have to agree with you, as Redskins fan. I want Dallas to suck all the time, but if they are always below .500, and we do good, then people say it's cause we are in an easy division. 3 of 4 teams in our division went to the playoffs. I rather have that than say, the Seahawks. A team could win their division w/ an 8-8 record (slight sarcasm)

Even though I almost always cheer against our division rivals, I enjoy being able to say that the Redskins are from the toughest division in football, so Im gonna go with option B. If you can make the playoffs from the NFC East, it means more than making it in a weak division where all of the other teams suck. The AFC West and East, for example. The Chargers and Pats are great teams, but who do they have to really compete against?
