ok...say here, we arent going to debate if we liked the trade or how it happened. we r going to face the fact and like it that we have Jason Taylor and say where we thought our skins were b4 the trade and now after the trade what we think the skins will do and how taylor will benefit us.

I say that this trade gives our team a sense of urgency, that we traded for a big name that produces, so lets win now. our pass rush will be close to the giants pass rush last year which changed games for them. i dont want to say super bowl since we were barely a playoff team last year and cuz a lot of chance plays into the super bowl champion (as shown by the fact that the giants who were not that good the whole season won it), but it really is a chance. if our offense works which i think it will especially after reading about his quicker release and better footwork and the new recievers, we r going to be talked of plenty on ESPN by week 4 as a legit threat to win the division.

12-4 is what i say and not simply because of the trade, which i do think will help out loads, but because of zorn and what it seems like he is doing with campbell and drafting new weapons. im ready to score 6 in the redzone instead of 3 (or 0 as seen in Seattles playoff game) this year.

We win the first game, and yes... we will be talked about a lot by the media. Or maybe the media will talk about the Giants loss, but regardless, thats the only NFL game for 3 days. Gotta start strong.

I'm going to stick with my original prediction. 9-7. I honestly think that the defense was going to be around as good as it was last year, with Daniels or Taylor, it's going to rank about the same. The question is how is the Offense going to work, and how quickly is it going to gel.

It's changed mine. I had us down for 6-10 this year. Taylor makes our DL much better and we now have a top 5 D-line. I think that will tranfer to haveing a top 5 D and one that can dominate a game. I thought the beginning of the season was going to be tough with the offense needing time to jell, and that with our schedual and a good but not a dominating D, we'd get in a early hole.

I dont think that so much now.

I think we can be around .500 at mid season, and then our offense should become better and we can get better down the stretch. I dont see us winning the division, but......

I think we can make the playoffs now. And If we do, we're going to be a team that no one in the NFC will want to play.

I think our defense is now strong enough to keep us in the hunt till the offense comes around, and I was thinking theO was gonna be good at the end of the year. If we make the playoffs, I think we'll be able to seriously beat anyone in the NFC.

We win 8 or 9 games, up from my 5 or 6 prediction from before.

I've been impressed with what I've heard about JC's improved mechanics. Should make our offense a lot more interesting this year. JT improves our defense, which I have a feeling will need a lot of help this year with all the injuries.

:dallasuck The 8-8 pick was a safe pick. Honestly when you look at it the biggest change will be JC in the new offense. He showed flashes in the old O but at the same time how about getting the entire offense some kind of continuity. Thats what I really want to see in D.C. The D is great. they're basically running the same system with a few new pass packages and blitzs. Maybe i'm blinded by the luv but I just don't see how we're that far behind everyone else. Once we get Rogers back completely healthy I like our CB's. Yeah we gotta get the FS squared away but weren't we there last year too with Rogers and no true FS after ST?

11-5 or 12-4 and win the division. We are a better team than last year. We will win more games.

This is actually a pretty interesting thing to think about. Jason Taylor brings a different strength to this team that hasn't been here for years. To me, as I've said in other posts, it's equivalent to the Fletcher pick-up last year. It puts less pressure on our offense to keep us in games early on in the year. The defense has to lead this team in the beginning. As things start feeling better for the offense, I see us being pretty scary but only if the offense doesn't flop on it's ass mid to late season. Campbell should be on a five game leash or so, but he's going to be the difference this year, not Jason Taylor. We know Collins can manage the game, he proved that with a makeshift line to boot.

Jason Taylor should add that presence that our D has needed and I agree that it should make us one of the top D's in the conference. So, I can't make a prediction yet until I see the offense through the first five weeks or so. I think that, if healthy, the D will return to form and keep games tight. Campbell has to march this team down the field and get that satisfaction/confidence of "winning the game late in the fourth." It seems that when a quarterback does that in this league, it becomes familiar and like old habit. Until then, I can't make some bold 12-4 or 11-5 prediction. I'm sitting on .500 at the moment. Maybe I'll change my mind before the season, but the pre-season really doesn't mean :pooh:

There's only one Jason that matters really next year, and it better be the one under center...no disrespect to J. Taylor, it's just time for Campbell to come into his own, and he knows that. I've got confidence in him b/c you can see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice.

It's changed mine. I had us down for 6-10 this year. Taylor makes our DL much better and we now have a top 5 D-line.

A Top 5 D-Line because of the addition of Taylor? You must be mad, man.

Taylor is listed at 6'6 255 lbs... he's a beanpole. Andre Carter is also in the 250 lb range... Jason has been playing opposite guys like Kevin Carter (290 lbs) and Vonnie Holiday (290 lbs) for years while they stuffed-up the middle and let Taylor dance around the end.

In the middle we have one solid (but aging) DT who suffers to stay healthy... and two unproven young guys... Top 5?

Don't be fooled by SACKS, people. Many NFL scouts have said for years that Taylor sometimes struggles against the run when playing as an every-down DE. I think teams will target his side, and pound the ball right at him.

The linebackers better get ready this year, because while our defense certainly has the chance to be a Top 5 squad (as a whole) this year, our D-Line is not to be mentioned in the Top 5 at this time.

I believe the following teams have a more balanced/skilled D-Line on paper right now...
Bucs, Bears, Chargers, Packers, Vikings, Patriots, Seawhawks, and the Giants (before the departure of Strahan.)

The Chargers andPats run a 3-4. We're better than the Bucs or Bears and the Packers. Probably better than the Giants without Strahan.

Also, Taylor has been one of the better RUN DEFENDERS at DE for his entire career. Check his stats on that.

A couple of days ago I had them pegged for 5-11. Maybe this will help them get to 6 or 7 wins.

i say we make the playoffs but as a wildcard again, whether its a 9-7 or a 10-6. Mainly because looking at a team like the bears and how a defense can carry a team with a bad offense(granted they had a weak division)..I am not saying our offense will be as bad as theirs just not a high power one. I'm merely taking the safe approach because of a new coach and new offense with some new players.
