View Full Version : Redskins Nation TV Show- Is this thing for real?

Been watching the last couple of episodes of Redskins Nation on Comcast Sportsnet (VA/DC/MD area for your out of towners)...and drinking more and more as a result of it.
Is this the worse Redskin-related "news" show ever? I'm coming from the school of "Joe Theismann's Redskin Report (w/ George Michael)" and "Redskins Sidelines with Sonny and Sam" (were there other shows out there?). This thing falls way off the radar.
Larry Michael seems to not know anything about the team that he does play-by-play for. A couple of shows ago he felt Ledell had a very productive season last year, just to back track and correct himself once he was able to review the stats. Do you really have to review stats to see that Ledell had a subpar year due to lack of field time????? He looks absolutely uncomfortable on camera... there isn't a former Skin for you to work off of?
The girl "co-host", Rebecca, is absolutely horrible. I'm sorry for criticizing a woman like that, but the show literally goes backwards when she's on camera. I know I'll get slammed because some of you like her cuz she's a cheerleader, but isn't this the kind of stuff these boards are for? I have no problems saying this in person, but I had to vent because frankly, I expected better production and talent for this program.
Her job, to the best of my knowledge, is to read off emails (strike one, can't do that well) and improv with Larry from time to time (strike two). I've yet to see her interview someone, but I'm sure that'll be a strike three. Yesterday, she tried to improv with Larry about Redskin Park, and drew a total blank, having to softly say "I'm sorry" on camera to Larry. Luckily, someone off camera screamed the "line" to restart her engine. The show isn't live- why didn't they just do another take? Boggles the mind...
If it's a Comcast Sportdouche thing, I guess I should expect it. If this is a Redskins production, wow, this is bad, like Tyus Wynans bad.
I apologize for burying this show, but Snyder is suppose to be some kind of media guy, and this show looks like it's produced by high school kids.

Well it is a step up from ESPN. He he.
But seriously, I agree with you. I can't stand L. Micheal and Rebecca Mejia and the other guy on there. I'm sure they're nice people. But they're not good on camera.
However it's totally worth sitting through to watch them when they go out on the practice fields, as well as the player and coach interviews.

I am with ya man. I can't believe how bad the show has gotten since Bram Left. The one guy that they have on there with Larry is god awful. I think his name is Justin, and he has the on air personality of turnip. Rebecca just needs to calm down because you can tell how nervous she is.
I don't think that Larry is clueless by any means, but the show has gotten painful. While belly aching about redskins media shows, I cannot believe that they leave the sports retarders on and can riggo.
But yeah man I am definitely with ya RedskinsNutt.

I have always wondered how the Redskins would let them put out such a terrible show. But I watch it anyway because they do have good player interviews and field footage. The show really is awful though.

Some of the things I fully agree with and yes, I miss Bram.
While Bram was a Skins fan and worked for the radio, he did ask tougher questions.
We don't see that now.
I was anticipating this big overhaul from Redskins Radio to Redskins Nation and there wasn't really any.
Best part of the show is when they go out on the field.....and show practice.
Training Camp Daily (the show that covers the Skins and Ravens at 6:30PM) is one of the best shows on the lineup.

The name "Redskins Nation" is ridiculously stupid. Since when are we affiliated with the Boston Red Sox? I hate that band wagoner fan base and don't want to be associated with a so called "Nation." Couldn't we have come up with something much more original?

Every fanbase is a nation. To think the Red Sox or Raiders have a lock on the phrase "Nation" is a joke. Redskin Nation, Cowboy Nation, Eagle Nation, Giant Nation. They all exist.

Thanks everyone, I don't feel like I'm on an island now. My wife knows nothing about football except for Jason Taylor- she thinks he's hot  , but she sat down with me yesterday and was just staring at the screen, shaking her head.
All she could say is, "What is this thing? They don't seem like they know what they're doing or talking about." I couldn't say a word, I just looked at the ground and wept ;)
I've worked in some TV when I was younger, but you don't even need to do that to see you could change so many things about this show (production-wise) to give it some credibility and professionalism. When it's "mailbag time" go to a screen that shows the email question as text instead of having Rebecca read them on camera; it's like watching fruit decompose.
There isn't some go getter intern who could help on camera? Danny owns 980 now...there's no one there they can force to work the show? Time for synergy people!!!
The on field stuff is very good, I loved watching the QBs go through the drills yesterday. Frankly, the photos on this board are just as good though..hire that guy to help out.
You would think this show would be given unprecedented access, but with the exception of the on field footage (with Larry's soft spoken pointless commentary in the background), this is a bush league production.
It's now become a guilty pleasure show...I need to watch it for the car crash aspect of it.

Gfunk,
If you watch any of the clips on Redskins.com that for the most part is alot of clips from Redskins Nation.
For what it is I suppose it's ok:
You see practice from the field
Larry interviews players, coaches and Vinny Cerrato (thursdays)
Larry talks NFL news
Larry makes fun of JLC with the "source meter"
Larry answers fan questions read by Rebecca (see OP comments)- now a really bad segment
I'm a homer so the show I suppose doesn't bother me too much, but it really is candy coated Redskins spin 100%. Larry admits it, so at least you know what you're getting.
Thank God, football season is back- I was really getting tired of the non-stop NBA talk on this show.

It's a good show...KJ is there doing interviews; she's a pro and has a good relationship with the players. The anchor is a goober though. He ended the show talking about JT, Andre and the jersey "issue". He said "The Skins have 99 problems and a pass rusher ain't one."

I watch the show everyday, but the production is pretty poor. Larry is average and you have to understand that he won't ever say anything negative about the Redskins (which is why the show was more tolerable with Bram). The occasional semi-pervert old man remark he'll make about woman makes him entertaining.
Rebecca Mejia is just terrible. I realize she's supposed to be eye candy (I don't even find her that attractive), but anything she does isn't that great. She seems to struggle reading and looks comfortable talking about anything with Larry (be it football or any other topic). Does she have a degree in communication or something? If she does, that doesn't speak well for her college
Justin Jackson is just random. Why hire some guy that doesn't have a history whatsoever in football for a football show?
The one thing I really don't like is often times I'll watch a video on Redskins.com, then it will show up on Redskin Nation.

that plus the write up's on Redskins.com from Gary and JimmiJo and Murph's coverage here would satisfy my Redskins fix.

If that's so, then why haven't we ever heard the Turds, Feables, or Gnants refer to themselves like this? Every team does not refer to their fanbas as a "Nation." There are specific teams that use the phrase. Using it is cheap and makes our fan base look like it doesn't have its own identity.

I've DVR'd this thing and watched maybea total of 15 minutes at most of the show, and hell this show sucks. It's convoluted and painful to watch I got sick to my stomach watching Larry sweat like a hog on the field. Rebecca needs to go. There's really no room for a clueless person. Bram was the only one who kept the show interesting in the previous format, but even then the show got of track thanks to Larry's rambling and psycho babble. Quite frankly I'll just stick with News 4 at 6 for my Skins coverage.

Redskins Lunch, turned Nation, is severly lacking without Bram. He was the sensible counter point to Homer McFanboy that is Larry Michael. His humor was also a good counter to Larry along with a good back and forth between them.
Now the shows just filled with a bunch of annoying personalities that have no real difference in thought and is incredibly boring and mind numbing.
The show should've died when Bram left.

I agree, and good synopsis for GFunk. You would think with the structure Deadman gave you, it would be a smooth production...it's anything but. Larry's NFL news such a struggle because he is SO pro-Redskins, he doesn't have a lot of his facts straight, and can't give lengthy analysis or opinions. I propose a viewing thread on ES, just so we can unite in the wreck known as Redskin Nation. I won't be home for the 4pm, but I can catch the replay at 11pm.

Well the show shouldn't have died but they should have worked on replacing Brams spot with someone that has the same unbiased thoughts about the 'Skins as he had..the yin/yang theory. I've defended Larry in the past and still will to a degree but he definately cannot run a show on his own, his personality is too abrasive and manufactured to hold an audience and he doesn't have that 'it' factor to hold your interest on his own. ~ as far as the Rebecca...she needs to be replaced with someone that can at least read que cards reasonably well..i'm sure she's a nice person, just in the wrong line of work. :logo:

It was originally redskins radio and only on the radio. Then they started showing a video rebroadcast on Comcast. At some point they decided to take it off the radio, change its name and only show it on Comcast. Unfortunately they changed nothing to make it a TV show. There was no difference other than the name
The only other minor change I have noticed is that Larry doesn't turn his head at every moving thing around him as much anymore. He was like a bird. Constantly distracted by things in every direction, constantly turning his head.
I record it and watch it with my son. I fast forward until there's a player or coach in the studio or they have filmed something at Redskins Park. Those things are generally worth the time to record.

Funny, it appears that Danny is going to let Pollin and Czab continue to be "objective" on the Sports Reporters (if that's what you call it), but Larry has to be Homer McFanboy. But that's another argument for another day.

I really hate to be a party pooper BUT. The Washington Redskins will be forever Linked to the Boston Red Sox....even though we forget....its time for a History Lesson.....
The Redskins started in Boston as the Braves in the 1930's. After the Boston Braves baseball team moved away from Boston, the football Braves decided to change their name. They wanted to keep a similar name. So they looked at the reamining baseball team in town (Boston Red Sox) and thought about incorporating part of the Red Sox name into the new name for the football team. And keeping the Indian theme, the football team changed their name to the Redskins.
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_did_the_Washington_Redskins_get_their_name
The Boston “Football” Braves, owned by George Preston Marshall (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Preston_Marshall), entered the National Football League in 1932 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1932_NFL_season) after the Newark Tornadoes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newark_Tornadoes) franchise folded[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins#cite_note-3) and played at Braves Field (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braves_Field). They had tried to base the team in New York, but were blocked by the NFL’s territorial rule. The Braves head coach was Lud Wray (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lud_Wray), and were led by Hall of Famers Cliff Battles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cliff_Battles) (Running Back) and Turk Edwards (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turk_Edwards) (Offensive Tackle). Their first game was held on October 2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October_2), 1932 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1932) in which they lost to the Brooklyn Dodgers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brooklyn_Dodgers_%28NFL%29).[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins#cite_note-firstgames-4) The next week, the Braves would gain their first franchise victory, with a 14-6 win over the New York Giants (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Giants).[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins#cite_note-firstseason-5) The Braves would complete their first season with a 4-4-2 record.[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins#cite_note-firstseason-5)
In 1933 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1933_NFL_season), the team moved into Fenway Park (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fenway_Park) and changed their name to the Redskins.[7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins#cite_note-6) They also changed their head coach. The team was now led by Lone Star Dietz (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Henry_Dietz),[8] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins#cite_note-7) as Lud Wray moved to Philadelphia to head up its new franchise, the Eagles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Philadelphia_Eagles).[9] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins#cite_note-8) The Redskins finished the 1933 season (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1933_Boston_Redskins_season) with a 5-5-2 record.[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins#cite_note-seasonresults-9) In 1934 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1934_Boston_Redskins_season), the Redskins finished in second place with a 6-6 record.[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins#cite_note-seasonresults-9) In 1935 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1935_Boston_Redskins_season), under head coach Eddie Casey (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Casey), had a dismal season, scoring only 65 points and finishing with a 2-8-1 record.[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins#cite_note-seasonresults-9) In 1936 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1936_Boston_Redskins_season), under their fourth head coach, Ray Flaherty (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Flaherty), the Redskins won their final three games, outscoring their opponents 74-6, and captured the Eastern Division Championship with a 7-5 record.[10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins#cite_note-seasonresults-9) However because of extremely poor attendance, highlighted by only 4,813 fans coming out to Fenway Park to see the Redskins trounce the Pittsburgh Pirates (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittsburgh_Steelers), 30-0, George Preston Marshall elected to give up home field advantage and played the NFL Championship game against the Green Bay Packers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Bay_Packers) at the Polo Grounds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polo_Grounds).[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Redskins#cite_note-10) Battles was injured on the tenth play of the game and the Packers won the championship with a 21-6 victory. She doesn't seem to pre-read the emails prior to "mailbag" time (I guess Broyhill does that)...maybe we can sneak a "why do you guys suck" in the stack o' emails.
It looks like she's reading them, but trying to paraphrase what the emailer is trying to say...and failing at it horribly.

Well, if that's the case, perhaps she should read them the hours upon hours that she has prior to the show. She could edit the emails and re-phrase them so it wouldn't be such a strain for her.
She's a COMM major from Mason- do the Green and Gold Proud! I took several TV courses at Mason (yes, I was a lost soul), and worked at ABC News for a spell- you learn how to make the scene "look" authentic, but with all the safety nets to ensure that the shot goes smooth.

No history lesson necessary here dude. Redskins fans know their roots.
We still don't need to be linked to the Red Sox's contemporary fan base.

The production values are rather lame but I do enjoy the show and don't mind saying it. Rebecca seems like a sweet girl but she is uncomfortable in front of the camera and it even effects the way she reads E-mail. I like the raport that Larry has with Vinny, the coaches and players. They all seem comfortable with him and don't use as much "player speak" when asked questions. The training camp daily show on Comcast is pretty good but the need to make it an hour long and use a half hour for each team. I couldn't care less about the Ravens features.

No offense intended. Just thought I would point out that in more ways then just calling our tv show redskins nation we are connected to the redsox. When I see someone say something along the lines of "since when are we connected to the red sox" I just thought I could help shine a little light....

It's funny how everyone says the best thing is the portion of the show where:
1. There's no Larry except for his voice
2. There's no Rebecca
Maybe they should just do 30 minutes of training camp footage
That would be great by me. The actual show is painful to watch.

I agree on all your points. If she's uncomfortable in front of the mic, pre-record her portions or like I said, have her read the emails off camera to relax her. If you're going to have a professional program out there for people to watch as perhaps their only view of training camp, then dedicate yourself to have a quality program. Don't half *** is and think you're doing a good job.
We as fans have to pay to breathe at FedEx, to park at FedEx, used to pay for training camp, have surcharges on top of surcharges. All I ask is for whatever you do, spend our money wisely, and that's in all phases. The owner is some kind of multi media mogul, he can't possibly watch this program, or he would have a fit.

1. #1 most of the older (30+) Skins fans associate the team and broadcasting with Sonny, Sam and FRANK HERZOG. Larry is no FRank Herzog and simply doesn't have the chemistry with the two HOFers. People don't like different, and hearing Frank's "Touchdown Washington Redskins!" in the old clips is good times.
2. In my opinion, Larry doesn't seem to know as much as I would think the play by play guy for the team would know. He might have a great radio voice, but geez, his tv presence is weak.
3. I don't have anything else against Larry, my issue is with the show...it's a high school production...mini helmets in the back, ridiulous microphones and wooden personalities. I've always harped on Danny's media "saaviness", but it bit a brick when it comes to this show.
Hell, I honestly watch it for the train wreck it is. Like others have said, the training camp footage is fun, I'd personally like to see more of it. Now, I'm just watching it to see what else can possibly go wrong.

It’s defiantly not top notch entertainment but for an hour long show that’s on everyday talking nothing but Redskins, I don’t expect much more. There’s not that much news in one day.
I’ve never cared much for Larry. He looks like one of those sleazy old married guys that hangs out at strip clubs and would cheat on his wife if in a heartbeat if he had the chance.
Bram was good and seemed like a decent enough guy.
I like Rebecca Mejia and she is definitely attractive. She’ll get better and she’s cute enough to deserve a chance to succeed.

Agreed, the show is absolutely terrible.
Today he was doing some audio announcing for clips from yesterdays practice, but for the first few minutes he seemed to try and pass it off as today's afternoon practice, which it clearly was not.
I am a sports journalism major at UT with only a semester left and it should be easy to get a media job back here if that's the kind of production they are putting together.
I wouldn't go as far as saying it's the worst Redskin related news show ever though. I'm not sure if it's still on the air, but there used to be a show come on at like 3am called Redskins Magazine, which i'm pretty sure it was filmed out of the host's basement, it was unbelievably horrid.

:logo:
No, George Michael and Michael Wilbon had a yin/yang type thing going on the NBC show with Riggins and Sonny. Larry is so biased that he reads his opinion from Snyder's paycheck.

I'm almost all Sirius radio now. I'll occasionally listen to 980 in the car, but that doesn't really do it for me.
I love the NFL network on sirius radio because its like it was when I was a kid - call in radio. We get Redskins fans as callers, Redskins haters as callers, smart fans, stupid fans, and an ability to actually hear voices other than just the two or three people inside the radio booth. It gets kinda annoying sometimes because some of the hosts are anti-skins, but at least callers can call in and let them know about their biases and why they're wrong. The same way some hosts are pro-Cowboys and callers call them in and let them know about that.
I wish there was a way that the people on ESPN, 980, or comcast could be checked about their biases for or against the skins. Really, I wish that more of this stuff was call in stuff. But, I can make due with the sirius radio stuff.

If that's so, then why haven't we ever heard the Turds, Feables, or Gnants refer to themselves like this? Every team does not refer to their fanbas as a "Nation." There are specific teams that use the phrase. Using it is cheap and makes our fan base look like it doesn't have its own identity.
I have heard Redskins Nation for years, albeit, not used often, it's not new. I've heard Eagle Nation also, but not sure about the others. Eitherway, it's not uncommon for a fanbase to call themselves a "Nation." The Red Sox only popularized it.

Rebeca, I had such high hopes for you. But sadly, you just didn't live up to expectations. Very cute, just not comfortable on camera.

An hour is too long for that show. There is not enough information to fill an hour and they have to try to fill it w/ niceties and conversation that has no direction. I think there needs to be more planning on how the show will progress through it's entirety and get rid of those lulls in the action.

1. If it's horrible, then don't participate and move on. There are plenty of other posts to jump in on. 6 pages of people find this show pathetic, so obviously, a nerve was touched. You're telling me this thread is worse than any of the 7 that ask "Isn't it weird/scary/erotic/symbolic that Jason's last name is Taylor, and he plays on defense?"
2. Honest Answer- We all probably expect more from our professional football's team tv show than a wooden homer and a half lit bulb babbling into oversized radio microphones and looking off camera at every piece of lint that flies in the air. We've already said the live look-ins are great, it's the rest of the program that drains us.
I'm a vet of WRC's Redskin Report and WUSA's Redskins Sidelines, which were broadcasted more than 20 years ago and had more juice than this show, and those show's weren't OWNED BY THE TEAM.

Yes, it is pretty lame but I have been watching it for the interviews w/ Zorn and the other coaches. I agree we don't have much choice at 4PM in the afternoon. Why not let Riggo do that show now that he has an opening?

I'd rather watch Redskins Nation than Redskins Late Night.
Ug.
Cosign. Redskins Late Night is garbage IMHO.

It may not be the greatest but anything that involves the Redskins and shows real live shots of the players on the field I will eat it up. Also he interviewed Laron last night which was cool. I dont think its as bad as some people think, I actually watched it for the first time last night and thought it was pretty good.

I heard that show was garbage too.
What show had Clinton interviewing his teammates in some large room last season? I thought it was great because it was obvious CP didn't care and was just hanging. He had Moss on it once, and they both had hoodies on over their heads and their feet on the table, just kicking it. I think the segment was called the Players Club or something.

The show defenetly has it's flaws, and could use improvment!! What is really weird about it is, I live in washingon St. and have direct TV, and sometimes it lets me watch it, and most of the time it says that it out of my area. I understand that it is out of my area, but why dose it let me watch sometimes, thats what pisses me off. I should be able to watch it everytime or not at all???? But your right im really not missing much anyway.

I watched it for the first time last night. Its definitely not good. Larry Michaels has no energy in his voice and it seems boring. Even his interview with Landry didnt seem to flow. However, I will continue to watch because its better than nothing. They should get Michael Jenkins or Kelli Johnson to do the show. Ill even take Chick Hernandez.

What is it sometimes with people on here? Ok you hate the show...i myself think it is a good show that shows the events of the day in Redskins Land...all i ever see on every page here lately is people complaining, but no one ever gives an opinion on how they would make these things better...be it the team, the tv shows, nothing...well except the usual this guy sucks trade him, or this show sucks fire this guy...etc...everyone has an opinion on why they dislike something but no one ever has any opinions on how to make these things better...come on people you are smarter than that, do you really want to come off to others as just complainers?
sorry for the rant but lately all i have seen is this sucks and that sucks... Redskins fans are better than that...but maybe i just expect more from the best fans in the NFL

I personally love the show, i really can't see why any fan wouldn't like it. They are gonna have Zorn every tuesday throughout the season from what i understand wich is awesome. Not sure if they will still have Vinny every Thursday, I hope they do. Think they are about to interview Campbell on todays show but i might have heard it wrong.

Just watched the show tonight and it was much better than the previous show I saw. Larry Michaels interview with Jason Campbell was good. JC has impressed me with his interviews of late.

Ok ok ok . . . I am one of the people who does not fully enjoy the show . . . and to answer your thread, I will offer the following suggestions:
1. Assemble a team that has better chemistry and energy (none of the members can play off of each other or even compliment each other)
2. Give people a shot who know what they are talking about and can offer a bit more substance (Larry "the tool" Michael does not deserve his access to our beloved team . . . he just doesn't)
3. While I am not asking for a business-like atmosphere, be a bit more professional (as someone mentioned earlier, there is no need to constantly look at the OTHER camera as if to gain approval or recognition of what is being said).
4. I again have to go back to the chemistry . . . there is none on this show.
Look: people will watch this show no matter what, because as Skins fans we have the serious problem of wanting to know EVERYTHING that is going on with our team, every day, every hour . . . BUT, having said that, don't put out an inferior product just because you know people will watch. So why not try to put out a good show and make it that much more enjoyable? Training Camp daily is still the best show right now. They should take some notes.

Good enough for you? The door is that-a-way
Like I said, its live look ins at training camp, you can see all the players practicing without going out there in the 90 degree weather, they have player and coach interviews, what more do you want? A BJ from Larry?

Lol I agree....and the season hasnt even started yet. The crying and whining will only increase once the season starts. Last year they were calling for the heads of a dozen true redskin players, one bad play and they were thrown under the bus immediately.

If I was that persuasion, the answer would still be no...I'm sure Larry would still look off camera when doing that, and I wouldn't appreciate that.
I'm a skins fan since the late 70s, but I am not a homer- I'm critical and would like to see a good product, on the field or otherwise. If you're happy with it, fine, be happy with it, I doubt anyone on this thread has said "those who enjoy this show should be stoned to death by boulders." This wasn't the "Redskins Nation is awesome" thread...I'm sure that can be created by someone.
Is it the worse thing on TV? No, multiple shows on the CW and My20 (Keepin' it Real) are. Is it nice to throw vegetables at it? Sure, why not. I would do the same if the Cowboys had a goof product out there.

I've already mentioned what I would do...unlike some posters, I criticize AND I offer my thoughts on how to improve the product:
1. The show is owned by the Washington Redskins..lemme say that again, OWNED BY THE REDSKINS. No video montage to start the show off? No "Hail to the Redskins?"
2. The Rebecca Mailbag is scrapped in favor of either Larry, someone else or the new host reading selected emails with the text on screen with the author's name. From a public point of view, while it's nice to say the author's name, those select individuals who get to have their email read would get a kick seeing thier name or call sign on screen.
3. Add a recorded piece from Kelli Johnson, or someone with some on camera skils.
4. Have someone accompany Larry for the live look-ins who can properly describe what's going on. The other day Larry spent too much time talking about a Colt "McCoy"...if he can't tell the difference between a UT QB and our (according to many on these boards) future franchise QB, then perhaps he needs a little help.
5. A rotating segment either featuring players interacting with each other or with fans. Another segment could feature the fans who are sitting there watching the practices.

It is sad really
Who is crying and whining? It's not even YOU we are criticizing, so why do you care? Because this is "your team?" Please, get over yourself. It's a shoddy product, as much as a helmet that's facemask falls off or an overpriced scarf at the Redskins stote.
You're telling me you never criticized anything about this team? I don't mind you disagreeing with me on it, but to judge my "fandom" because I don't get moist for all things burgundy and gold could easily be as silly as me starting this whole thread in the first place.
The sad thing is blindly accepting everything that you see and not wondering if it could be better, to settle for mediocrity because "it's all we got."

I watched yesterday’s episode and it was good. The interviews with Vinny and Zorn (I really like Zorn’s interviews, so much better than Gibbs’) were informative as was all the camp footage. I just fast forward when that cheerleader ***** comes on or Larry’s new sidekick is talking. What a bad job they did staffing the show.

G funk- I'll be sure to catch it tonight. If they've improved, I'll be sure to retract and support "positively". I have to watch Rebecca's segment though, just for the chance she says something wild like "Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas will bring back memories of the posse, with Malcolm playing the Charlie Brown role and Devin being Alvin Garrett."

The name "Redskins Nation" is ridiculously stupid. Since when are we affiliated with the Boston Red Sox? I hate that band wagoner fan base and don't want to be associated with a so called "Nation." Couldn't we have come up with something much more original?
I totally agree with you. If you wanted to make an original show, at least have your own unique name for it. Red Sox nation is in a league of its own. No disrespect to our fans but we don’t take being a die heart fan seriously. But anyways let’s boycott the show until the name is changed.

Yeah, he did several times. They also did a mic'ed up segment with Marcus Washington. We now know the following things:
a) Marcus breathes really heavily while practicing
b) Marcus spits
c) Marcus yawns
They really need to stop calling it "unfiltered" and change it to "unedited." I can't believe they aired that entire thing. It took what felt like a solid 3 minutes. He really didn't even say anything.

yes I criticized many times all aspects, however when I do it is not just complaining but ways to fix the situation...my post was a reaction to everyone who complains but never seems to have anything else to add... besides the fact that people don't like Larry because he isn't Frank...I myself like Larry and think he does a fine job...I liked Frank too but he is gone...people complain that Larry is too much of a fan but then rip on Czabe because he criticizes the team too much it just seems so contradictory
I never judged "Your" fandom but some fans in general, it was a blanket statement not meant towards anyone in particular...not because you, or anyone else doesn't like the show...that was not the point...but because all there is said on here is I hate this or this sucks...never anything constructive...you need to get over yourself and stop thinking I was attacking you...I wasn't attacking anybody...just making a general statement...besides just complaining why not add something of substance as well

voicekiller, review my posts, I've offered suggestions for the show already, a bunch of them. I didn't think I had to add ones with each post.
There's ANOTHER thread slamming this program now, so while I understand your comments weren't directed to me personally, it's obvious that there's something not right about this show- most of us are offering suggestions, but really, will it help? It is what I would expect a High school tv show to look like.
I watch with the sound down...It makes it more bareable.
I will take whatever I can get when it comes to tv coverage.
Randy thomas and Jansen could do a show better...It wouldnt be smooth...But god knows it would be less retarted..
As a lifelong communications guy...Larry can really put on a lame show.
