Welcome to Ft. Myers/Cape Coral~
Yes, sadly, Cape Crab is no longer the hot spot for Redskin fans. Apparently DirecTV tried to charge them for the whole restaurant rather than just the one room where the games were watched so they ended up cancelling their service.
I have yet to find a "Redskins bar" around here but I havn't neccesarily made a strong effort (NFL Ticket :silly:) However, I go to Stevie Tomatoes every once in awhile onDel Prado in Cape Coral....there is usually around 5-6 Redskin fans that go there for the games & everyone is pretty friendly. The only issue I have is if it's an early game, don't count on being able to hear the audio since it's a loud sports bar with MANY tv's.
Hope this helps! If you have any other questions in regards to the area, just shoot me a PM and I'll do my best to help.

Yeah, it's one of the drawbacks to living down here ... it's the Bucs, the Dolphins, or ...
I had the Sunday Ticket pkg. until earlier this spring, when we sold our home and moved into a condo ... haven't been able to convince the Association that a satelite dish is harmless, and that while they can place certain "restrictions" on the location of a dish, they can't flat out deny me the right to have one ... so my nephew and I are scrambling to try and find an alternative, at least for this year. Good luck ... and Go 'Skins !!!

=-=============== Being that I formerly ran the club here, it was highly disappointing that we could not get a bar to commit to us exclusively. At one time we had 200+ members and contributed locally to chairties. It was as you said directly related to the NFL Sunday Ticket.
I have it myself, what other choice do I have with two little guys and no volume to listen to the game.
By the way some guys that used to belong to the club go to the Ale House in Ft. Myers on Colonial and they usually demand being albe to hear the game. They get there early and set up in front. The food is a good deal and is good. The taps are plenty. Fosters are $2. all day.

When you say Ale house, do you mean that Steak & Ale on 41? I've been meaning to go there....any restaurant with steak & a type of beer in its name can't be bad
I'm only 22 but I wouldn't minding kickin' it with some of you older folk to watch a few games this season...could be some good beer drinking competition

:helmet: A core group of us get together in Naples at a place called Jammer's Sports Bar and Grill, located in a Publix plaza, off of Pine Ridge Rd., east of I-75 (exit 107). Beer prices are good, food is decent, and we normally get our own area with plasma tv's and sound. We have enjoyed some nice victories there including the last four regular season games last year.
All are invited, the more the merrier, and then we can all hit the Naples Beach Hotel for the weekly Sunday sunset party after a Redskin's victory.

Thanks all for the replys. I called Cape Crab and they are no longer a Skins hang-out. The Ale House sounds good...I moved here from Stuart and we would go to the Ale House there. Even though it is an Eagles bar, a buddy of mine is an Eagles fan, it is sweet when they get SPANKED by our Skins. Of course not as sweet as when Dallas gets whooped............by any team. Anyhow I will check out all these suggestions, as it is always a great feeling to be with fellow fans, especailly when a victory is had!!!
Also a friend of mine told me, Fosters Grille in the Cape is owned by a guy from Woodbrige, VA, and he will make accomidations for the Maroon and Gold

There is a bar next to Groove Street in Fort Myers that is currently looking to house a fan club. All of us SW Floridians should get together and see if we can make the place home. I can get more info if anyone is interested.
oh yeah...CCSkinsfan..thats my uncle :)

No, the Ale House on Colonial just past Metro heading east on the left. Good sports bar wtih pool tables and plenty of screens-all games shown. Do not go to the Steak and Ale, you will not be watching football but you will be dining with blue hairs.

No dude I ran the thing for years and sadly we broke up. The last organized club we had was about two years ago at the Cape Crab house, and yes the bar Groove st. was before that, and we originally started at Beef Steak Charlies back in '89, which no longer exists. I still have the banner and many here have had pleasure turning Tampa into FedEx south, check for pix on the site, MONKART? LINK>?
BTW. I still hold the charter from the team for the officially club for SWFL, thus the name.
