Same play we came back to beat Dallas on in the Monday Night Miricle. I knew then this game was over!!! This game will bring great confidence to this team, way to fight Redskins! It's never over till it's over.

It did. Receiving the ball just over the outstretched arms of the defender. Awesome!
Plus Santana is my fantasy WR! Woot woot!

Until the catch was actually made, I was thinking of JC's missed bombs to SM near the end of the Philly & NYJ games last year, and I was thinking "Please don't go 5 yards past Moss, PLEASE." Once the catch was made, though, THEN it reminded me of the Monday Night Miracle, in that the deep pass to SM was a little behind him, and it JUST got over the defender. Beautiful play, JC!

September-14th-2008, 03:36 PM
JC's pass was far more impressive... Audibled play, evading a rusher, super quick release, and an absolutely perfect pass. I think Brunell proved that his passes were luck.

anyone think that brunell was thinking the same thing while he was on the sideline? i think yes ;)

Brunell made better passes on that Monday Night.
I was just happy the Campbell finally connected with Moss on a big play.

That was no miracle in pukeville.
It was just a matter of time.

September-14th-2008, 03:47 PM
It looked more the miracle in Dallas but it also reminded me of the home game against Jax a couple years ago. Santana is the MAN.

Good route and I shake my head every time they call a deep route run against the sidelines and the receiver gets squeezed out of bounds and can't make a play. We need more deep in the middle of the field!!!

September-14th-2008, 03:51 PM
It definitely reminded me of that Dallas game with the completion.
And I am hoping that this game will do what that game did for the team at the time: inspire them to have confidence, especially in the offense, and to win some games.

Yes it did. It was so nice to finally see JC hit Santana in stride on a deep pass. He starts doing that and big things can happen for this team.

I think the team was playing miserably during that game until the last few minutes. Until then, it was winding down to another loss to Dallas until those two big plays.

Yes but it was called the "Miracle at Midnight" not the "Monday Night Miracle" that moniker is usually used in reference to the Jets-Dolphins game from 2000.

Definitely reminded me of the Monday Night Miracle. The circumstances weren't on as grand a scale, but I was so happy to see us go vertical to Moss. Hopefully that'll be the first of many for this offense. The dude is a homerun threat and needs to go deep.

I just watched JC in his post game interview. The audible was not a different play call it was a protection shift call as they had a safety blitz on.
Moss was his second read on the play after Randle El.
Brunells plays were NOT luck - both were very good throws, escpecially the second one.

I just wish Jason would learn to drop the ball in the basket. The pass was so flat that it could have been tipped away or picked off if the defender was just a few steps behind Moss.

Thats all I could think of when I saw that play, especially with how Jason stepped up in the pocket and just bombed it.
Great play, hopefully the first of many this season...

That dude has lightening quickness!
Now if we can get him and Randle El to get hot on the same Sunday, we'll be alright. Seems that each week, one of them takes the day off. LOL

It didnt remind of that game specifically....but it did remind of 2005. I love the screens to Santana....he is so explosive....we need to get the ball in his hands.

The Dallas game was the first thing when I saw that pass, Campbell must have absorbed some good mojo from the former #8 car being in the building.

It was a great play, but it was nothing like the miracle Dallas game. Still, I hope we see a lot more of it.

In the Dallas game, Dallas had played well enough that they deserved to be up. In this game, had our teams not screwed the pooch and our RZ offense had been decent, we'd have been up big at the time when that pass was thrown.

Santana was abusing their CB's all game. And yes it did remind me of the 2nd week dallas miracle game.

As soon as the ball was in the air and Santana was coming across the field I told my brother this is gonna be just like the catch against Dallas a couple of years ago.

September-14th-2008, 07:19 PM
As long as he stays healthy he'll always be a downfield threat. Let's hope that's the play that turns around this offense similar to the ones in the Dallas game.

I was just watching the highlights and I loved that leap by Randle El while Moss was holding up the "Deuce-one." That was good stuff. I was stoked to see the emotion return to the Skins today.

I can agree with you on that one. The touch Brunell had on both passes were a bit better, but take nothing away from the throw Campbell made. Glad they hooked up!

y'all have no idea...when that play happened, that game in Dallas immediately ran through my head. In fact, I started thinking about it before Moss had even caught the ball. He had broken away from the defender, and I knew that was it.

This team learned how to win again in a new system, just like we did in dallas in 05. They will have the confidence now knowing they can come back and score in a split second. Just wait till we really get this offense down, wow we will scorch many teams.

I wore mine today too, which is a change of pace for me because I normally where my black Portis jersey on gameday. Definitely will be putting it back on next week for Arizona.
I also asked a few friends who watched the game with me who have the misfortune of being Dallas fans if that play rung any bells :D It was only a matter of time, Campbell has never really seemed to connect with Moss, he missed him on about 3 or 4 really big plays last year.
