I guess it's classy the way they jump around and celebrate after every play like a bunch of jackasses. Everytime a Cowturd made a tackle they'd jump up and dance around like they just won the super bowl. Come on, it's a tackle; you're supposed to do that in a football game.

No ****! I could see if Rock pissed on it or something but he celebrated AFTER the game. He didn't pull a stunt like TO did when he played for the 49er's

Tank Johnson doesn't even have enough hours in a cowboy uniform to be "disrespected" by a Redskin standing on the star. Learn something about the rivalry first before you call yourself getting mad at folks..

I agree with that. Had they gone and stood on our midfield logo after a win, we would be calling for their head as well.

Like him or not, Tank is right in this instance.

Of course WE would, WE'RE fans, and we're supposed to get mad and vent about that kind of stuff. But if PLAYERS don't want other teams celebrating, then they should win the game, and if they don't win the game, they shouldn't whine about dumb stuff like that. Whine about why you lost the game, not whether some other guy stood on your stupid star after the game.

Zen-like Todd
September-28th-2008, 09:51 PM
Tank Johnson should talk to T.O. about the Dallas Star.

If that is the case, then I retract my statement. I thought he was dancing a jig on the star or something.

If he was just on it talking with media and such, then Tank is just mad that they couldn't get the job done today.

Dancing on the star is overrated but this is probably the last chance for a Skin to do it after a victory in that stadium, so go for it Rock.

The Poke's seem to forget that it was their own "stud" receiver who made it "fashionable" to perform the bluestar twostep.

Like Tank Johnson has been in Dallas long enough to come on strong with these feelings

He acts as if he is a 12 year Dallas veteran who has bled silver and blue.

And as to the question of celebrations?

How about the Cowboys hot dogs over the years rubbing in their big plays and game ending wins?

How about Hollywood Henderson, Tony Hill, Harvey Martin, Deion Sanders? All the guys through the years.................

Anyone remember Harvey Martin throwing a wreath into the Redskins dressing room in Texas Stadium in 1979 after the Redskins lost 35-34?

These guys have had their own kind of classlessness at times.

Much worse than a guy standing at mid-field.

September-28th-2008, 11:01 PM
Once again the Cowboys act and are treated as if they are somehow bigger than the NFL. No one would give two ****s if you celebrated at center field on the logo except for the Cowboys. Somehow the star is just too sacred. **** them. Dallas and the star can suck my balls. We own you.

From ESPN:

Postgame altercation

Redskins running back Rock Cartwright said he and Cowboys defensive tackle Tank Johnson had spent much of the evening jawing back and forth. But as the Redskins were kneeling on the ball at the end of the game, Cartwright said he stood at midfield and gazed through the iconic hole in the roof of Texas Stadium.

Johnson, who's is his second year with the Cowboys, apparently thought Cartwright was attempting to evoke memories of T.O. standing on the star several years ago as a 49er. After the final snap, Johnson raced over and shouted, "Don't disrespect the star."

Chachie
September-28th-2008, 11:22 PM
When an opposing player celebrates on your center field logo (twice) in a game, resulting in very bad feelings and a riled fan base and you later take that player on your team and make him your star, it no longer becomes a big deal for an opponent to celebrate on your center field logo. The dignity's already gone, Mr. Jones.

I forgot Tank Johnson was still in the NFL.

NoCalMike
September-28th-2008, 11:29 PM
Umm excuse me Jerry Jones signed the Wide Receiver that after scoring Touchdowns, ran to the middle of the field to MOCK the star......so obviously the cowboys organization doesn't care too much about "The Star"

Plus, there is no indication that Rock was "mocking the star" he was just standing there looking around....

That stupid star players dont even realize they are standing on that spray painted plastic toxic slick turf... heaven forbid they celebrate on that thing. How is it that only their star is the subject of these types of things? Every stadium has a logo.

Good for Rock players stand on the opponents field and celebrate every single game. Tank is trying to make its sound like his house or the house whatever implode that incomplete dome finally and end this stupidity.

Rock didn't do anything "wrong"; Tank is a sore loser. Rock stood in the middle of the field~ just as our logo is in the middle of the field, so is their starie. If they don't want players and "others" on their starie, perhaps they need to take their starie off their field.

Simple solution for Tank, now isn't it?

First off, that whole "Stand on the Dallas Star" started back when TO, thats right "TO", played for the Niners. TO, as far as I know, was the first to do this. So, Tank should get his Cowboy history straight. If Rock intended to taunt anyone, a part of it would be to tick-off TO. Besides, the Cowpoke fans I know are fairweather. They need this poke in the ribs to know that nothing is certain, and the Superbowl is up for grabs, still. Fans must love their chosen team, win or lose.
To my Redskin Brothers and Sisters out there, Dallas is still a dangerous foe thus. It would behoove the Redskins to savor the win in Dallas, but work harder, study harder at winning the rest of the season, particularly the Dallas game at home. The Pokes will be gunning to beat them in DC. What a rivalry! Hail Redskins!

Glad I wasn't the only one who saw this. It certainly seemed like he was doing it in reverance to the toilet bowl than to "disrespect" anyone on their team (although after all the things the pukes and their fans have done he would not be too far out of line). Rock's been with the team a few years and probably has more than a few memories in that stadium. Let him revel for a second...jeez.:dallasuck

Come on, give tank a break. He was obviously upset after getting freight-trained all day long by the O-line! Besides, who made that dopey logo holy ground? The Skins ran all over it during the game why is the post game any different? That gun runner should be happy to be even in the league.

I guess it's classy the way they jump around and celebrate after every play like a bunch of jackasses. Everytime a Cowturd made a tackle they'd jump up and dance around like they just won the super bowl. Come on, it's a tackle; you're supposed to do that in a football game.

This bothered me too...I distinctly remember one play where Clinton gained like 5-6 yards and they celebrated like they stuffed him at the goal line. I couldn't believe it.

Also, at the end that clown Miles Austin celebrated on the TD catch when his team was about to lose the game.

I don't usually like when our player do stuff like this, but to me it sounds like he wasn't being disrespectful, just savoring a huge win.

Rock was drafted by us and has play with us for a number of years. He is a true Redskin that understands the rivalry. tank is a rent-a-player with with no ties to dallass or it's future.

I don't remember hearing his name called even once.

I hope he finds a tampon for his vaga-tears and I hope we gave the NFL a blue print on how to beat these turds every week.

If Rock was being disrespectful, he's certainly earned it. We've now won 5 of the last 7 against them, and "all hail" romo is 1-4 against us now...

what tank doesn't realize is that no one other than a bunch of ignorant rednecks "respect the star" most of the league and all of the non-"america's" team fans couldn't care less about them or their piece of **** stadium, much less their precious logo that tank has been wearing for less tahn one season...

Agreed. I find that to be absolutely inappropriate and I am a bit surprised that came from Rock who I consider a class act. That is their stadium and their home field. No need. You won. Look up at the scoreboard and celebrate with your teamates. I see NO reason to mock the opponents logo. None.

"It is, what it is." - Rock Cartwright. The man was celebrating. Yes, decorum might have been to not rub their noses in it, but I don't think it was meant as how Tank took it. Either way, how great is it that our players are into the rivalry as much as us fans are?? :D

Alright, I don't think Rock should've done that. I think that is pretty disrespectful. If he was just standing there, then it's fine, if he was dancing on it or something, than that is disrespecful. And, Tank Johnson should be the last person speaking about classy football.

Exactly my friend F that star , you want to spot light yourself and put a great big star in the center of your stadium . Well it makes me think, you
have taken a symbol to relate to what you think your team represents in
the NFL universe. So when you dont live up to the hype expect some feed back once in a while by a player who might be sick of hearing so much by a team that has done nothing to equal star status.:dallasuck

artmonkforHOF
September-29th-2008, 11:45 AM
OK first off anyone from the Boys calling out another player's calss is laughable. The fact that it was Tank "I need 4 guns to travel" Johnson is makes it sad (side note: why does a man nicknamed Tank need assault rifles?)

Then add to the fact he is talking about disrespecting the Star, kinda like TO did back in the day? So i guess this means Rock will get a contract offer from Jerrah cause he likes his swagger.

And Tank Johnson was talking about celebrating a win in week 4 like it was nothing. Here is a bit of advise for you and your fellow Cowboys defensive players: If you want to hang with the Redskins, maybe you shouldn't expend more energy celebrating meaningless tackles in the first quarter than you do for the rest of the game.

No one else noticed that? I knew after our second stalled drive that if we could keep this a 1 score game we would win simply because Dallas-being as flamboyant as they are-celebrated every tackle like they where Mike Jones in the Superbowl stopping the Titans.

I get celebrating a sack, go ahead and make yourself look stupid if you want to, but to jump up and start flayying around in a way that would make Shawne Merriman's dance look tame when you make a tackle on first down after a 6 yard game is just stupid. And then to do it again on third down after your opponent makes a first down...I mean do I need to expalin that any further?

It's what makes everyone love Dallas so much when they are winning(becasue we all know Cowboys fans go into hiding when they suck) which cost them that game. If they had played composed, I don'tthink we would have had that 7 minute drive in the fourth or had such a dominate 2nd quarter.

First of all F@%$* the star and I am glad he did it. Second of all the Cowboys have the least classiest roster since the Bengals cut all there weight. Third its the biggest rivalry in football and when an underdog wins in Dallas you do everything you can do as long as you don't get suspended.

Hell I think it was Too Tall back in the day that threw the funeral wreath into our locker room after they kept us out of the playoffs. That is what makes rivalries, rivalries. EXCUSE ME? What EXACTLY is REDSKIN football in your opinion.

I DON'T think you WERE there so see the **** going on there. One of their classy fans threw a beer on my mom......and then ran away like a *****. THIS was the same guy who was cheering when SELLERS was lying motionless on the field.

So, tell me.........why was that a stupid move?

NEVER before have I had ANY trouble with boys fans. The trouble started before the game in the parking lot with some smart ass girl who THOUGHT she was going to get in my face.

Exactly. Don't want that to happen.....then win the game and shut us up.

As I sit here and read this, all I can think about is how the 'Skins dominated the Cowgirls tonight. Also, if Rock did anything of the sort then good for him. Last game at Gay stadium, I would have done alot worse.

Redskins 26, Cowboys 24. Ballgame!

I watched the fans right behind the bench throw some things down onto the field. Talking trash to the team....and Rock got pissed. The fans acted out. The 4 white people and the 2 Hispanics that were in front of me got all pissed off about the game.........and at me.......cause I yelled the entire time.

Did you mean we wouldn't like it? To be honest, I would not mind if someone walked onto the middle of the field after they won. This whole situation seems to bother Tank more than anyone else. I still do not see what is disrespectful about what he did? From everything I saw there wasn't much to it...he was in the center of the field when the game was over.

And from this picture the whole team was on the star at the beginning of the game.
http://redskinsblog.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/midfield.jpg

Does that make the whole team disrespectful? No one spit or pissed or took a dump on the star...it happens to be the middle of the field. In most sports that is where everyone meets up to shake hands after the game. It is also where the coin toss is...

Until I saw some concrete evidence that he did something disrespectful I have to side with Rock. Tank Johnson is looking for something or someone to blame or point his negative feelings.

IMO this is a non issue and is being talked about more than it should.

It is just a field...and we won...

After the Redskins won the final game they'll ever play in Texas Stadium, Redskins running back Rock Cartwright (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/6119/) pulled a page out of the Terrell Owens (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/3664/)playbook and celebrated in the middle of the big blue star at midfield. Cartwright's grand contribution to the Redskins win was three kick returns for 71 yards....This is the type of stuff I don't like. Celebrating is fine but doing that is not necessary.

I have to agree with you. Its just inappropriate and disrespectful. We have a GREAT rivalry. We can't stand each other. I get all that but c'mon. I respect the Cowboys. I respect everyone in this division and so should the skins players. I am sure that for the most part they do (even Rock). No excuses, I am sure he got all wrapped up in the emotion of this impropable win on the road but ya gotta keep your composure and show your opponent some respect.
